Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

For those wondering about inclinations, these are what imo are the best ones for each vocation:

Fighter: scather, mitigator, challenger, utilitarian - this makes them focus on strong enemies first
Warrior: challenger, mitigator, scather, pioneer - this makes it draw the most aggro
Strider: scather, utilitarian, mitigator, challenger - same as fighter, but will also make full use of climbing
Ranger: utilitarian, guardian, mitigator, scather - guardian might seem odd here, but it will keep the ranger close to you if you are ranged as well, making it use it's most powerful skills, just switch guardian with scather if you are melee
Mage: utilitarian, medicant, nexus - this will make a mage actually buff others instead of just healing.
Sorceror: scather, mitigator, utilitarian - just kill everything.

Though eventually it won't really matter what the inclination is, the bestiary overrides a lot of stuff.

Thanks for the tips. It seems like you know everything. How many damn hours do you have into Dragon's Dogma?

Still going up between 20-30k per day, not accurate yet.

We can go higher people.

Is sword & shield Assassin any good? I'm still leveling up my Strider and not sure if I want to go Ranger or Assassin next.

Dagger and bow assassin is definitely the best, but sword and shield is still viable for me. It's also good for killing smaller enemies, as sword skills have good aoe damage. Basically, however, I just prefer to play as a sword and shield character, that's how I usually roll in RPGs.

I'm still awaiting for permissions, so to not loose any time, I just updated the ENB preset. It still has many flaws, I've had to change the DOF as I haven't been granted the rights to use it on any other game than which one it was made for. I'm afraid I won't be able to do much about the Blacks level/crushed until per-weather variable and environment is implemented, so if any kind Cheat Engine Master would like to search their ID, it would be lovely (if it's possible btw), hoping that Boris will add them to the ENB.

Anyway, here's some shots.

PS: regarding some precedent posts and/or message, don't get me wrong, I want to share it with you just as much as some people want to have it.

I hope I've got everything right, as I'm not on my PC, but now it works fine for me and the game looks great with some downsampling and Alo81's settings.

Thanks so much, these steps + starting Steam with GeDoSaTo activated worked. Although the game is very dark now. Oh well, it looks better, I think. Need to check the night sky

Pay the dude. You lose a chunk of cash, but the quest completes and you get exp.

So I messed up the Land Of Opportunity quest.

Accidentally notified all them about the eviction...so now I have to evict them?

Don't have a save..unless last checkpoint would do it.

If you don't want to
evict the family make sure to not make Sara (mother) and Pip (son) agree before telling Jasper (father). The option to buy the land only becomes available when speaking to Fornviel (spelling) if you speak to father first, then get the mother and son to agree, don't tell father but go talk to F dude.

You will level up super fast, get tons of gold, and be one shot by literally everything. Its okay but I wouldn't recommend it.

I am actually having a lot of fun on hard for a first playthrough. This coming from someone who usually plays on normal or easy for action games. You do get one shot easily, but I am just destroying things at this point. It actually feels easy once you level up a bit.

I never did any of the Bitterblack Isle stuff on the PS3, it's so good. Think I've got myself a little underleveled for playing it on hard, but still having a lot of fun. Just killed
the undead magus with the dragon pet
and gained 5 levels and unlocked another shortcut. Those minotaur looking bastards with the two-handed hammer are a pain-in-the-ass, only way I managed to kill one is by making him charge off the side of a bridge. Not sure what kind of loot they drop, but at least I got the 60k experience for the kill.

Just finished the quest with the Salvation cult in the Catacombs, and killed that dude at the end.

Playing this game little by little since I don't have as much free time as I would like. When from Fighter to Strider and the differences are ridiculous. Now onto Warrior then Assassin.

In Chimera fight, I usually struggle more at taking a perfect shot for the photo mode than fighting the creature itself.
It ends too soon.

Have you all been using the in game anti aliasing? Would I be better off injecting anti aliasing with NVIDIA control panel? Is that even an option?

The one in the stairs? That bastard is really tough. Next time bring a Warrior with you. They have a skill that launches the enemy into the air. I got lucky because the warrior was doing that constantly.

You'll soon learn that "hard mode" is not hard mode, it's easy mode. The beginning of the game is difficult because the enemies hit hard (that's all it does to the enemies, makes them hit hard, for the entire game), but shortly afterwards you get so much EXP and gold that the game becomes extremely easy. It breaks the game balance and it's not hard at all, and it's actually easier than the normal game. On top of that, it raises your stamina costs, which just makes the gameplay less fun.

It was added as DLC in the original game (base in Dark Arisen) as a bonus mode. If you're looking to play the game, just play normal mode. Hard mode is only if you want the armor for clearing it.

Question about God Idols and forgeries.

Can you give the forged copy of one to the merchants for the bonus? I also know that two quests want one.

What is best way to do this lol. I still have to do the escort quest too.

So, I just started this and it's hard to do searches for the info I want:

So, can I never see the names people gave their pawns (not the moniker)? There was a parental lock thing so I assumed you could, but I only see very normal names. Also, I know friends with this game, but Friends (and a bunch of other options, honestly) are grey in the Rift. Do friends have to be PLAYING the game too? And why can't I use some other options, like ranked pawns?

You have to give the real Idol to the shop of your choosing. You can keep the forgery for the shop discount.

You can't give a Gold Idol to both shops, only the one you want to fully expand. You can give the Silver Idol to the other shop to get almost all of its expanded inventory, though.

Only two shops right...Caxton or Mad? Which..which....

****Edit:

Very confusing. One it says what you does, confirmation.

But then..

A Gold Idol Forgery will grant the same discount as the original.
It is recommended to make a forgery of the Gold Idol at The Black Cat. This allows the player to retain the discounted bonus and turn in the item for a quest completion.

I know it gets pretty pointless in the end but yea lol

I should listen to my pawns more. they kept saying we must flee, but I was determined to defeat the tentacles in everfall. Spent an hour fighting them hoping just maybe this will be the final one.

i read this message today. didnt understand what it meant. did the same thing just now.

Didn't think to try that, playing a warrior right now, but didn't have it equipped. Arc of Obliteration wouldn't even finish off one of his health bars. There's another in the next area that I ran into in the dark after I got my lamp wet, they placed them well, always in a spot where they don't give you any room to breathe, would probably be easier out in the open. May try chaining knockdowns on him and see how it works out tomorrow.

Reached post game. Bought my pawn and myself our end game gear we can buy in stores, maybe we get lucky and find some end game gear from drops while doing either of the things you can do.

Stopping for today, maybe even for tomorrow as now I'm essentially farming big enemies for quests and experience. Then once I reach a level I feel comfortable attempting post-game hard shit in, I'll go.

I feel like I should love this game but I'm hitting a wall. Couple hours in - got to the big city and did a quest in the lower level of the Pawn Guild where tentacles popped up.

After that I was told to meet with some dude about Wyrn Quests or something. I accepted a quest that took me to 'Shadow Fort' and messed around there but ended up getting shat on trying to open a gate. Now it's just me alive (all pawns have died). I have some stone that says I can use to fast travel to it, but I don't think I actually can.

It already took me an hour to walk across the map to this place and now I'm even at heavy weight. Just dunno what to do. It's hard for me to tell if I should get shit on or if I'm just underleveled or undergeared. It felt like the game was telling me to come here.

I'm like level 19ish I IIRC. Warrior class. Halp.

Did they finally update pawn renting? Everyone claims it is fixed but I've been playing all day with 30+ friends playing on Steam and my pawn has been hired a whooping 0 times.

Not that I want free items or anything.....

seems to be working slowly, just keep sleeping at an inn and you'll eventually get the message.

You can place portcrystals any where in the overworld (as in, not in actual town instances) and then fast travel there whenever you like. At the main city, in the inn, you can access you stash and take out an eternal ferrystone, which lets you infinitely fast travel to either the starting town, the main hub city, or any of your port crystals.

So, if you grabbed your eternal ferrystone, then place your port crystal down, fast travel back to the main city, revive your pawns, go level up/get new gear, whatever else, then you can fast travel back to the fort and try with your better character.

If you didn't, and you don't have any normal ferrystones, then place your port crystal down, hoof it back to the main city, do all of the above+ grab the eternal ferrystone, and travel should never be a big concern again.

oops, just gave a bronze idol to one of the shopkeepers. Learned that there are much better ones in the game.

Is that a big deal? I'm assuming you can find better gear later on than the stuff they sell.

Cleared Bitterblack Isle the first time. Went from level 70 to level 90 in about three hours.

Now for loop two. The real Dragon's Dogma starts here...

Doesn't really matter so much. It expands their inventory more as the game goes along, but you don't really ever need the absolute best weapons and armor and you can find stuff just as good out in the field.

This game is one of the very few games where accidental victory is as satisfying, or more satisfying, than victory through skill.

It's not like these things are hard, it's just too much fun seeing them fall down!
