I think I've been making a slight mistake. I've, by force of habit, made a beeline for the same class and skills I used at the end game of my last playthrough. So while I will eventually end up as an Instant Resetting DPS beast Magick Archer or Great Cannon + Full Moon Slashing Mystic Knight (for Ur) again, I'm missing out on things I missed out on the first time because I deemed them not good enough. I never bothered playing as Warrior or using the skills meant for lower end enemies.
As soon as I get Leg Strength from Strider I'm going to have some fun.

My plans of going full melee with warrior died along me and my pawns to the first eliminator in BBI... Back to ranged/hybrid!
Tried mystic knight before that and I have no idea how people put up with those super short buffs. You could almost count Blessed Trance in weapon swings, not seconds. Great Cannon is great fun, though, but you still spend half of the time casting rather than using it.

Yeah, that's the one thing I absolutely hate about the MK. They're reasoning is because everyone gets enchanted at once but when it takes 10 sec to cast and only lasts 30sec or whatever, it's pretty useless. Even the augment that makes all enchantments last longer doesn't really help.

Also ... Fuckin Level 50 MA and recently switch to a sorcerer so I can get the magic stat gain from each level
Fuuuu should've known that . Reading that MA stat gain sucks and you wanna max that Magic stats asap .. Although yea you can be a hybrid with daggers and str but i'd rather do that as an optional

Yeah it's fine, as long as you've got a pawn that can give you holy affinity and greater magic canon and ruinous sigil down just spam fullmoon slash on the canon and watch the missiles fly.

I switched from Strider to Assassin, but both have a core skill with the same input. Doing the X pause X combo just does the Strider's kick move. How do you switch?

Maybe I'm dumb or overlooking something, but I can't get GEDOSATO to take hudless screenshots. I've set the keybind for hudless screenshots, and it takes the picture, but the hud is still there.
Hudless screenshots are possible, right?

The core skill is tied to the weapon, not the class. It's the same skill for both classes.

There's nothing to switch. Don't think of it as classes' core skills, think of it as weapons' core skills. You learned the dagger core skills, so you can use them whenever you have daggers equipped regardless of class.
Weapon skills are semi-transferable, because while some basic ones (Hundred Kisses etc) can be used across multiple dagger classes, some skills are class specific (Magick Archer ones are an easy example, because they're ones that need casting and Strider/Ranger/Assassin aren't casting classes).

Oh yeah it does crash, weird, and my suggestions work fine.
It's exactly as strong as it should be.
Haha, game even tells you because of which file it crashed. Very considerate for modding (Obviously caused by a corrupted file I created, not the game's fault)
E: Btw, the game now always launches in windowed mode for me and generally refuses to save that I turned off Vsync. Kinda annoying... hope this will be fixed soon, I know it's a common issue.

So just quick question. I'm not big on PC gaming and my computer is proof of that. I like having all the settings on the highest, except for HDR obviously. I can run DD on max at 720p @ 60FPS and 1080p @ 30FPS. Both are rock solid. Which do you think is a better experience?
Normally I wouldn't go for 720p but after playing it again on PS3 I would call 60FPS a big upgrade lol

seriously, dont fucking do this in games developers. I dont care if you are a quirky japanese "we do things differently" developer, this type of shit is just, well, shit. I know its just a sidequest, and I know I can go respec to strider or ranger and quickly do it, but it really grinds my gears I even have to do that
that srupid duchess sidequest and now this, 2 blemishes on a otherwise amazing game so far. This is my opinion by the way, just venting really, Im sure you will now say "lol its fine get gud buy bombs" etc. I shouldnt have to, again, in my opinion.
Metle to the Metal sidequest, the one unreachable talisman that is immune to magic dmg thus my magick archer attacks.

Hire a pawn with 3 stars in that enemy, they'll kill it themselves.
Otherwise stand under it and tell your pawns to come where you are, they should attempt to attack it. If you don't want to pull aggro, just grab the bow pawn and put them under it.
I've been giving people fish for their pawns. I suck. But I don't have anything good to give lol.
anything that requires me to leave the area and change something completely breaks my imersion from doing that quest. I just switched back to Strider and im going back now (im rank 10 magick archer now anyway so its probably a good idea to roll as strider again for a bit which is only 4). Its the fact that I couldnt do it not because of skill but because the game decided you need a specific set of circumstances to do it is all
oh well, its no biggie in the grand scheme, it just annoyed me

Heh yeah but their spawn rates are annoying. On PS3 I'd just farm the cursed dragons in BBI, the dragonforging rate seemed better from what I recall and they got easy after a while.
Nah. The OP isn't a thorough walkthrough. There'd just be too much things to cover. It's there to cover the essentials.also I didnt get the gold idol from the and now im fucked. well not fucked but I cant get the best stuff I guess. Thats one of those "PSA: do this in this quest" things that people should warn about imo lol, should even be in the OT
If you care so much about not failing every quest, use a guide. If not, just play the game and don't worry about it. Yes you'll miss out on some rewards -- so what? It's not the end of the world, you'll get better gear than the best Caxton can sell later on anyway.

No, the daughter quest won't be available since Fournival gives it. Sorry, no gold idol, but you have the right attitude about it.
In my first playthrough I gave the gold idol to Madeleine instead of Caxton, because I was maining a female strider/ranger/assassin. I realized it was a mistake since her stuff wasn't that good and I hated the looks of the female-only gear, but it didn't matter since I ended up wearing Everfall and later BBI stuff anyway.
Fighter, rank 5, the Augment is "Sinew".

Now those are complaints I agree with. The Metal Golem thing is indeed bullshit. And the Duchess one is embarrassing as hell, and it sucks to just not do it because you're locked out of one of the better dungeons of the game (Blighted Manse) with a lot of decent loot inside, if you don't pick up that quest. So yeah.
It's like the Capcom employee who created the Duchess in Distress quest didn't get the memo that a) the game already had a (wonky) love interest system to begin with and b) that your protagonist is one you create and having a forced romance is completely counter to the idea of the game. lol

After you rest (inn, rest camp etc.), you will get a message saying "Your follower returned from having assisted another" or something like that.

Once they release it, you'll get a notification that it came back when you rest an an Inn. It updates your pawn everytime you rest.
