I have no idea why people care about review scores so much with games they already have preordered and are playing regardless. It's completely out of your control and won't or at least shouldn't effect what you personally get out of it.

You just called someone a "Nintendo fan" as an insult. This is after your drive-by thread-crapping in the "FFXIV on Switch" thread.

So no, you can't then say "but I'm a Nintendo fan" as if you didn't just insult someone for that.

It was not as an insult..context how does it work..He was in a horizon thread shit posting yesterday, today Is see he is a diehard nintendo fan. see the correlation? Don't jump in a conversation if you don't know the full breadth and context of what is being discussed.

I'm definitely avoiding Zelda reviews. I want to go in with a fresh and open mind. I've still avoided almost all footage since E3 2014. :)

I tell you what. If virtual console isn't going to be launching for months, when it does launch it better be damn good from day 1. And I want Gamecube games dammit.

I'm a believer that they'll launch vc at our around E3 to help fill out the post launch months. Arms in May, VC launch with plenty of games in June, Splatoon in July, Fire Emblem Warriors in August/September, maybe Pokémon in October, Mario in November and plenty of vc titles inbetween each big retail release from them.

I don't know how you've managed. There's been hours and hours of footage and I've wasted what's probably days of my life watching it, did you stick around for the trailer at the end of the Switch event?

Now that we have dates I hope we have a direct soon to clear up some of the lingering details before release.

Whatever the Zelda reviews end up being (still 100% hyped for it) I think it might be safe that there won't be any prefect scores. The game is going to be knocked no matter what for not being up to the same graphics as other games on other systems. Regardless of how fair or unfair that might be. It's not going to be reviewed only on it's own merits or just with past Zelda games. So I think anywhere from 5 to 3 points at best or 10 to 5 at worst on a 100 point scale or half to a full star or point on a 5 point scale can be subtracted from the very start going in.

That's how I'm looking at potential reviews based on how Wii U games were reviewed. No matter what Wii U games were at a disadvantage from the jump because they weren't at the PS4/XBO graphics. As far as the non-Nintendo focused games were. That's why I'm curious as to what many of the Nintendo focused sites say because they can be quite critical as well but more fairly. I'm also going to be curious what the game gets knocked for that is also in something like Horizon and other open world games and ended up being praised there. That bit of BS has happen before as well.

I'm not saying I want the game rated prefect just because. If it has genuine flaws then so be it. However my concern is and was always going to be people knocking BoTW just to get attention (tossing out a 7 at a later date if other scores a way higher), to prove somehow and for some reason they don't give Nintendo or Zelda a pass for some reason and as a result hold them to a higher standard then they dare hold anyone else to. I just want fair reviews but I know with some outlets it starts off at a disadvantage the way many past Nintendo games have in modern times due to the power of the systems they appear. Let's be honest reviewers don't always see things fairly. We just had a thread in the past month I think about infamous reviews. Reviewers that lie, complete miss the point of the games they're playing, etc.

Well it is absurd but as fan of something you want it to be the best. Deep inside of the most Nintendo fans they want Zelda to have highe scores than Hoirzon, even if they buy the latter.
I am honest and I am one of these people. I own a PS4 and will buy Horizon and love that it get great reviews but I will smile when Zelda has a higher score. And the worst part is that I cant do anything against this feeling...it is just there.

Yeah, I couldn't care less about reviews. Breath of the Wild is getting played by me at launch one way or another, even if it gets mostly 6s and 7s.

(of course just because I'm going to play it no matter what doesn't mean I'll automatically love it.)

I gotta tell you guys, I'm salty as fuck watching those pictures, even more when they're not only getting them first AND for free, while mine is fully paid and sitting in a warehouse for the next 2 weeks, I don't care they're "press".

I don't care if it scores worse than past Zelda games. All I want from the review is a confirmation of multiple endings and this will become the best Zelda game in my book.

Unlike many people who will jerk off with numbers and rankings, I don't really care about the "scores". I'll play the game and then read some meaningful reviews that are enchancing your experiene rather than doing a list of what's good and what's wrong just like a random dude would do on gaf after spending hours touching himself in review threads.

There'll be one to three good texts to read on BOTW weeks after launch, when people that know how to make sense out of a piece of art will have taken the time to process the game (Killscreen for example)

I wonder if 10 days is enough to complete Zelda :) Some may not be able to do it.

That's 70 to 80 hours on full time working hours. Knowing that "reviewers" usually play outside of these working hours and that they write as they play (it isn't great litterature nor it is very long to read a standard review), you have your answer.

And you were in a Switch thread, thread-shitting, just the other day while also making overly defensive posts about Sony in other topics.

That's why someone said the "pot meet kettle" line to you. It's hypocritical. You still used "Nintendo fan" as an insult, the additional context doesn't change that.

Would it be strange to allow the same reviewer who tackled Horizon: ZD to review Zelda? As much as I try not to, I keep linking these games together as if playing one first may effect (good or bad) the enjoyment of the other.

So, a Nintendo OS etc. Direct/explanation would have to take place in the next two days, then, if it is going to happen at all, right?

Looking forward to the previews and reviews of Zelda!

Anytime this comes up...

What exactly is it about the UI that you think we need to know that they haven't shown us?

If there is one thing that hiphopthegamer's short walkthrough conclusively proved, it's that the console's UI is barebones. And console wide online functionality is coming later.

Am I the only one who thinks most of the people in Gaf say that Zelda is going to score high while hoping that its marks will be lower than Horizon? Very talismanic way to approach gaming, I guess :P

Anyway, can't wait to read reviews of the launch lineup. I hope Bomberman doesn't suck...

Link? I never used it as an insult you are projecting, it was to show bias. I am a nintendo fan why would I insult myself?

NOOOOOOOOOO

Fuck multiple endings in almost every game I've ever played and fuck them in Zelda. Good endings, bad endings, real endings, fake endings. I hate them. Just tell your story and conclude your story the way it is intended.

I'm super hyped for Zelda, but I'm expecting meltdowns in the review thread. As someone who really values reviews (at least those that I've come to know align more with my tastes and as such I can use them to guide my purchases) I'm always surprised at how personal GAF takes them.

It's gonna be fun, hopefully not too depressing.

As the guy who got called a "Nintendo fan", its alright, no bad feeling and it's understandable why he would say that. As long as he doesn't call me a fanboy that it's cool.

You were talking down on the very existence of the thread, as if people shouldn't talk about comments from a developer, just because you personally don't think it will happen.

That itself wasn't too bad but to then act condescending and tell people to "accept" your opinion as fact put it a bit over the top.

And you were rightfully called out on it in that thread. You act very aggressive towards people in threads over simple opinions. And if you personally didn't care about the topic at hand, you didn't need to enter it.

Bomberman is one game I don't give a fuck how it scores.
I don't see the game reviewing great but it's Bomberman.
Unless it's borderline unplayable, I'm going to really like it.

Looking forward to the Bomberman review, funnily enough it's the game I'm most interesting in for Switch's launch. I'd like to read about ARMS too but that game isn't releasing till April I think, a shame.

Sorry, but Chrono Trigger is one of the best games ever and that has multiple endings. I'm not saying it needs to have good, bad, etc endings, but depending on when you finish it gives you different ending scenarios. At the end of day, your main goal is laid out on you, to defeat Ganon or whatever the final evil is. So you'll always get a good ending anyway. It's just a matter of how "good" it is.
