Skyward Sword has a 93 Metacritic, but you get online and you'd think the disc itself would give one herpes.

I don't think it will, its going to be compared to GTA5, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn out the gate. Its open world and its a super high profile release.

I expect 7-8's with the occasional edgey 5-6 thrown in for good measure, Nintendo dedicated sites will give 8-9's.

It's arguably my favorite Zelda, I thought it had a great story, the best dungeons, bosses, soundtrack, art (so far) and I had no problems with the motion controls. There's some filler stuff I could've did without, but I'm not one to bitch about every little thing.

I hated it back then (Skyward Sword). I wanted to kill that tutorial companion almost every second I played the game. It was really tutorial and handholding: the game. And outside the hub it was so generic and never rewarded exploration. I was flabbergasted by the glowing reviews.

it's a piece of art, it can be critiqued however they feel like it, and when we move past game reviews as a checklist and more into what they say, what they mean, how they make you feel etc... games will be better off.
