Enjoying the 2tb hdd on PS5PRO did people forget about that in pricing?

What time is it?
No, Spectrum thankfully. That sucks.

I phrased the cap really poorly, I should have just said 1229GB per month. I have a daily chart to compare my current usage to. You do get one "free" overage month that resets after 12 months but in my experience it takes longer than that to reset.

Nope. Many of us didn’t buy a secondary NVME, secondly those that did still get an increase in storage beyond what they had before
We are talking about early adapter customers who are springing for a Pro. A lot of these would have had additional drives. It wouldn’t make sense for most to just stick to 825GB considering these are people who are paying $700 to €900 for a Pro.

It really doesn’t matter if course at this juncture, what’s done is done.

Why would an early adopter enthusiast need discs?

The most surprising thing is that they didn't include a disc drive at this price point and yet they are making a lot more money now than in 2020 with the PS + tiers

I bet Sony has all the market research in the world behind the decision and we are the vocal minority. Plus, I'm assuming an additional 1TB of storage is more costly than the drive would be.

You must not be a Comcast customer. Without paying $30 a month or renting one of their modems, you get on average between 39-42 GB per day. For reference, my plan is $65 a month and I'd rather deal with managing my data than the cost of unlimited.
I Pay 80 canadian for unlimited fiber optic.

This was a sweetener for me. I has 1TB SSD added to PS5 but it was always getting full. Some of the games I play are >120 GB and both storage devices get filled fast.

No, my ps5 does not include blu ray and many enthusiasts have moved on to digital only per the data
Again, talking about NVME. Most early adopters I would think bought additional storage. So either cheaper system or option to pick a drive vs 2TB would have served a lot of folks better.

As far as initially systems went, DE comprised around 15% of overall OG PS5 sales from what I remember.

So Majority did have a disk system. Doesn’t mean of course a lot of those people were not mostly or fully digital.

Majority having a disc system doesn’t mean they used it. It was very hard to find a DE console for a few years

And ps5 pro is only expected to sell 15% of ps5s

Enthusiasts aren’t switching discs

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

huh ?

Anyway, a "Pro" console should not omit features, it should includes everything that's been there and then some.

I am 100% an enthusiast and 100% needed a disc drive, I have way too many games on disc I would never just stop playing

Just rebuy them digitally, you rich bastard.

People are that lazy to switch discs?

I just don't want the clutter anymore.

Oh I would if I could rebuy some of the ones taken offline but I will just use an older title I still pop in from time to time NBA2k18

Yeah 18

I just want to see how high up I can run my lifetime scoring record, its literally the only NBA I replay while still playing the new ones

You can't download that old game so I have to have it on disc

the thing is that because it is so easy to add an SSD the 2TB do not really matter as much as it would for example on the XBox with its insane prices for adding storage.
I am sure that if Sony would have shipped the Pro with only 1TB but would make the Pro like 50-100 Dollar / Euro cheaper, the uproar would not be as bad as it is now. It is a difference if you make the upgrade mandatory instead of letting the people upgrade whenever they want.
What uproar? Seems to be selling just fine.

Sounds like you need a time machine and not a disc drive, friend.

I had no idea the delisted sports games but I guess that makes sense with all the licensing.

A sizable number still want the option for disc considering the disc version overwhelmingly outsold the digital version and the add-on discs are sold out everywhere.
The drive was worth it at the launch price points. I'll probably buy the drive at some point for my pro but it's not a priority to me right now. Honestly the pro feels like a complete system versus the launch which had a drive but really limited storage and lacked things like VRR at launch.

No, the same people that passionately love their disc drives contribute less to the industry ecosystem’s health by buying/trading used games or using GameFly

So I’m not gonna get upset that these users have to pay an extra accessory tax
I'm pretty sure it's the "hardcore" gamers that still buys physical discs and collectors editions that spend more per console than a "casual" that just plays ps+ games via a sub.

And another one is an old Baseball game that I am literally in that I wont stop playing just because Sony wants me going digital, but then again said time machine would be handy here too

I would be willing to bet money I have invested a lot more money into the game industry than most

Stop with the generalizations

I could borrow that time machine and stop past me from selling the best basketball game ever created...Konami's Run and Gun.

They did their homework. They realize where the industry is headed and judged accordingly. 4 years is a long time for things to change. Of course it would make some folks gripe, but that's the nature of the business. You're never going to please everyone. I can guarantee you if it wasn't this, something else would have had folks up in arms. It could have been a complete hardware upgrade (CPU, graphics card, RAM) and folks would still have complained about something. Human beings were given a digital bullhorn in the form of the internet, so bitching will continue no matter the product.

For a lot of other people, myself included, we'll just skip what we don't like, instead of telling hundreds/thousands of strangers that our feelings are hurt over a plastic box's (that we don't need for survival) omissions or inclusions. Once you've put money into the device, you bought into what ever they were selling, so your complaints are secondary (outside of the obvious, like defective hardware/software). It's like buying a $2000 4090 and then complaining that it's too expensive.

Even I had to look that up

It will be a sad day if I am ever forced to go all digital and not be able to pop in an old disc and play some of my all time favs

The disc drive selling out says a lot of people buying the pro feel the same way
