Who says my opinions haven't changed? 10 years ago I would've hated some of the stuff I listen to now. Even if you ignore the bad parts, Columbus Day and thanksgiving are akward cause they position the government as European rather than one for the land. Obviously that's its origin but it weirdly makes native Americans look like they're the other in the situation and they can't celebrate (even assuming benevolence) from the same perspective as everyone else

it's not like Germany doesn't have a terrible past (and even present) too. it's just that the horrors still seem to be openly celebrated in the US... like a lot. being a patriot still is the hottest thing. this careless attitude always irritated me.
