At 12 years old Kane was over as fuck with me when he showed up and tore down the Hell in a Cell cage wall.

It's unfortunate WWE has absolutely trampled on the original mystique of Kane. It's been almost impossible to buy him as a bad ass in the past few years.

And yeah, for what a crock of shit they were handed, he did pretty good story work with Rollins.

This is how I kind of feel with most of the "big guys". It's hard to hear the announcers play up their "big" or "demonic" figures when they've been defeated (sometimes easily) so many times before. Or, as you mentioned, their gimmick changes a ton. Takers American Badass gimmick (only seeing it now as I'm watching some older stuff) is kind of....lame? Those fucking jeans man. Dumb.

Finished RAW. Glad to see The Dudley Boyz turn. They needed that badly.

I think we get Dudley breakup at WM and the start of Bully Ray (cause they are in desperate need of heel jobbers for Roman's run til Summerslam

...AND THEN SETH-KUN SAVES US!

They really did. Though now they have to feud w/ the Usos.
To be fair Usos are doing really great ring work at the moment, even if the characters are rote.

That would be fantastic.

Basically none of Bryan's favorite wrestlers/opponents/feuds were in the arena yesterday. The speech was great and everything but it could've been a lot better if more people that mattered to Bryan's career were there.

Sucks. No Regal, No Kane, No Shawn, no Skinny fat dude. etc.

Those glimpses of Heel Shawn...

Shawn can talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16 all he wants…dude is just a natural prick heel.

He was the leader of the Kliq.

Shit he cost 10 guys a mania payday so him and Scott Hall could have that ladder match.

The Kane of 97/98 would never be seen looking so weak. I was surprised how Bray just squashed him so easily on RAW a few weeks ago. It's hard to sell Kane these days when pretty much everyone beats him easily. Taker never got squashed.

I understand loosing a match from time to time, but looking so weak when you're trying to sell me on him being a demon monster just doesn't work. It's crazy how intimidating Kane use to be. Organ music, mask, Michael Myers mannerisms....id say he was scarier than any version of Taker

I'm not gonna give any grand statements or whatever, but with Bryan gone, my interest in WWE is at an all-time low. I think I might be all worn out after NXT Takeover.

Dial yourself back to only weekly installments of Lucha Underground until NXT Takeover Dallas.

After that, scope out the RAW After Wrestlemania and then reassess.

And everyone felt that was so great when everything that Brian represents is shat on in the same exact show lol. It was always kinda pathetic to see the WWE surfing on the Brian popularity that was basically imposed to them. McMahon hugging him when he probably never ever believed in him in first place..

In the same time they are force pushing a bland muscular guy against everyone and treating like absolute cheat some indy talents.

Yet everyone finds that a really cute raw.

You're the idiot behind me at the show last night who chanted Goldberg, CM Punk, and Husky Harris during the Ryback/Wyatt match.

DBry last night reminded me why he rejuvenated my love of wrestling.

He was able to make something scripted feel authentic and real. It was real to me damn it when he was on TV.

Now we are back to our regular scheduled programing in the WWE UNIVERSE.

Punk and Bryan were collectively two people who really rekindled my interest in wrestling, so yeah, with both of those guys gone my interest in WWE is pretty low as well. And even my interest in NXT is wavering a bit knowing that a few call ups are coming.

That's the plan so far.

I still remember Punk at MitB'11. I can still remember Bryan at TLC'11. I remember all of it like it was just minutes ago.

Goddamn the statement from Samoa Joe on Daniel is deep and emotional. What lovely things to say.

Feel sad again now.

Who is the next guy/woman I can go on a year-long journey with? Bayley's journey in NXT is complete, now she's the fighting champ, Bayley Hitwoman Hart.

Maybe Sami Zayn will be that guy that I get emotionally attached to on the main roster.

I feel kinda bad for all the hate Joseph Maroon got now. Turns out he was right.
He'd be right about a lot of the other guys too if it was politically advantageous to single them out and keep them off the road due to a documented concussion history.

Another note.

DBry's timeline matched perfectly with what Meltzer said before the show, with the addition of guessing what happened with the last tests.

I wish he was wrong tho...

What's with the comments that with Bryan gone and Punk gone, their interest in WWE is at an all-time low now? Punk hasn't been on TV since early 2014, and Bryan hasn't wrestled in almost year. It's not like he wrestled just last month, and then had to retire.

These guys haven't wrestled in WWE in a long time.. even longer in Punk's case.

A lot of people used hope to keep on trudging. Now that hope is gone.

I think some people, like me, came back to wrestling because of Punk and Bryan. And now they're both gone. Bryan for good and Punk at the very least not coming back any time soon.

It just sucks.

I don't even like those 3 guys. So i'm the worst idiot here it seems for saying there is something hypocritical in the WWE acting like Brian is so important to them... And even more in people saying Brian changed somethings in the way WWE does things.. ok.

Meltzer also was spot on with how Bryan was a fan creation and not a Vince or WWE creation.

Honestly Cole was kinda shooting when Vince was on stage. Notice how he dropped the Universe lingo for a bit.

Bryan retiring now probably brought the sting of losing Punk and Bryan to the forefront of their memories. And considering how ratings have steadily declined since Punk and Bryan have both been gone, I think a lot of people's interest is at an all time low.

Cole also said "I love ya, kid" to Bryan as they hugged when Bryan was going around the crowd post-show. Quite the stark contrast from old heel Cole back in 2010 NXT.

Yep. Until it was official, there was always a glimmer of hope. It sure was easy to brush off all the comments in here and elsewhere from people who were sure he wasn't coming back and to stop hoping for it as just more shit talk directed at "the ISEC" until then, that's for sure. Now it's real and tangible and there won't even be any ROH or NJPW farewell run (nor should there be). And I had already tuned out last summer for the most part.

I can understand seeing these guys leave, Bryan especially hard considering it was medical. Punk had his own personal reasons.

But, all I could say is get behind the guys out there giving it their all. Don't worry about who wins or loses. It's not about that all to them. Bryan's speech last night showed passion. He didn't care if he lost or won, he cared about putting on a show whether it was in a gas station parking lot or 70,000 plus ;)

I think the current active roster is pretty sweet right now, and I am becoming more and more of a Dean Amborse fan. The way he just go into Brock's face last night at the contract signing was
fucking
awesome. Say what you will about KO's push right now, but that dude out there is a worker. Love him. And the guys in NXT, hell yeah. It's actually a really fun time.

I don't know, just trying to look at the positive with this. I wish to hell that Punk would come back, even though I do think his reasons for leaving were selfish.

I've been following WWE since Survivor Series 1990, so this train ain't stopping ;)
