haha somebody brought this up on srk and i hope it happens just for the lulz. what if morrigan has an infinite using soul drain? not only will she build 5 meters for shadow servant but she will also leave you at 0 meter.
Wow that Ultrachen aftershow.... it's waaaay too awkward for me.
that's the best part
A fully powered Hyper Psionic Blaster is one of the strongest level 1 supers in the game, and a character who gets Jamming Bomb'ed and snapped out is basically useless. How strong is a fully powered up analyze cube situation?
Man, I really wish the less popular character had the infinites...
I'm looking at you Viewtiful Joe
about 8:55:55 in is when fanatiq sees the vid.I was at work when FGTV guys were trying the infinite tech. Could someone please find the point when Fanatiq sees the Sent infinite in the chat, and also the part where they land some infinites.

Its a 14 hour archive so itll be no easy task
Dahbomb am cryEvery time someone has asked Sven about UMvC3 being patched he just says Niitsuma's team is working on other project, which I'm pretty sure means "lol no."
Phoenix is now really easy to power up because an infinite builds a ton of meter. If Frank west has an infinite then that's another way to power him up if you don't have meter. Wright can probably benefit from the infinite by having meter to perform a dhc into unlockable for turnabout mode.I don't really play Marvel, but what other players can use their infinites to power themselves up ways other than obvious meter gain?

Only top tier players will have it on dek and not as something they will always use since most can already kill with 2 meters or even 1 the meta will change a bit but the real change will be after evo.tbh i wanna see everyone building their teams around these infinites to get blown up at evo in fact I expect them too. Still gotta land the hit. But this really does take away from the actual game and everyone's practice weeks before this

Meter positive one touches are a big deal.for the most part, infinites don't seem like that big of a deal to me in this game. When you can kill off one combo so commonly, an infinite doesn't really detract too much other than for meter sake.
Meter dependent teams will definitely use it eventually, Vergil/x23/Magnus is something really scary in my mind right now.for the most part, infinites don't seem like that big of a deal to me in this game. Like everybody said yesterday, instead of giving all your attention to this incredible discovery people should instead focus this last two weeks in thinking about Vergil zero and morri/doomi think i change my mind on the infinite at evo. i don't think you will see too much of it because the stakes will be way too high and the opponents too good to possibly be let out of a combo because you dropped the infinite. after evo like you guys said is when you will start to see people doing infinites without dropping them. the one guy i think could do them without dropping them at evo is marlinpie.

you might see fanatiq doing them if he doesn't respect his opponent at all. he usually does his snap back combos on people he doesn't fear but the infinite would be a better way to do it now. That's why i expect those who do focus on it will get blown up.
His team is the best example for doing the infinite I'm pretty sure fanatic, marlin and champ are gonna rock the infinites at evo. I mean it's not that hard, I consider magnetic blast loops harder than the infinite.you might see fanatiq doing them if he doesn't respect his opponent at all. he usually does his snap back combos on people he doesn't fear but the infinite would be a better way to do it now.
You guys got the right idea! If we see any Zeros in Evo Top 8 (I'm guessing 1 at the most), it'll be one of the real Zero teams, not ZmC.
Last year an amazing 2.2 million people tuned in to to watch Evo 2011. So in 2012 we’re working as hard as we can to bring you an incredible viewing experience. Here’s what we’ve got in store.
Three High Quality Streams
Just like last year, we will run two streams 100% devoted to tournament action for all of the games at Evo. This year we’re adding a third stream to broadcast all of the panels at Evo, along with some behind-the-scenes content produced by the great Richard Li and the amazing Cross Counter and Cross Counter Asia crews. With this third stream we really want to give our live viewers a taste of what it’s like to be at Evo.
Custom Player
Watching three streams at once can be a pain, so with the help of the guys at Twitch.tv we’ve built our own custom player, with simultaneous viewing, multiple choices for stream layouts, and the full stream schedule. Check it out here!
HD PPV Option. Great Stream Quality for a Great Cause
For the first time we will also offer a PPV option to view the gameplay streams in 720p. This is 100% optional. In 2012 the free stream will have same quality and even more content as our 2011 stream! But for those who can afford it, the HD option is great way for viewers to support spirit of Evo and get a little something back in return.
Here’s the good part. All of the PPV proceeds will go toward the formation of an annual $10,000 Evo college scholarship for gamers pursuing degrees in gaming and technology. We believe strongly in the positive power of gaming, and want to help show that gaming can be a gateway to a fulfilling life-long profession, not just a fun pass-time. We hope you feel the same and will choose the PPV option. You can find out more about the scholarship here.
IPlayWinner X Team Spooky
Of course our stream will be produced by the hardest working guys in the fighting game scene, IPW and Team Spooky. I’m thrilled to bring them back to once again produce the stream, and know they’ll do a fantastic job.
At EVO, we love competitive gaming, but we also know there’s more to it than simply seeing who is the best. Having run these tournaments for nearly 20 years, I’ve seen first-hand that deep and positive impact the community around these games can have on young people’s lives. I’ve watched lifelong bonds of friendship form out of competition, and seen my former competitors grow to run gaming related businesses of their own, find other industry jobs, and even create new games.
It’s clear to me that it’s the players that make fighting games so special. The top players are our heroes during competitions, but hundreds of thousands of competitors from around the world also use the game as an outlet to measure themselves, a reason to get up and out of the house, and meet amazing new friends in person, as well as online. As prize pools grow and the top players get their well-deserved time in the spotlight, we also want to remember that it’s the open, egalitarian nature of the fighting game scene, rooted in the personal connections inspired by arcades, that keeps it strong.
To continue this great tradition, it’s critical to support the next generation of players and help show that competitive gaming is not just a way to test yourself, earn great prizes, and connect with fellow players, it can also be a gateway to a fulfilling industry profession. To highlight this and pay-it-forward to the next generation of gamers, we are announcing an annual $10,000 scholarship for a student enrolled at an accredited university studying towards a degree in game design, game development, or computer science.
The scholarship will be initially financed by the Evo 2012 pay-for-view hd stream. All pay-for-view profits will go into the Evo Scholarship fund. I believe in it this so strongly that I’m going to personally guarantee the $10,000 scholarship. If the HD stream is successful, it will cover the costs. If not, I will pay the scholarship out of my pocket.
If you’re watching Evo from home and can afford it, upgrade to HD, enjoy the action, and help support the next generation of excellence! Either way, we’ve got some special treats for the Evo viewers at home, which you can find out about here.
For students, both current and future, we will have application details available later in July.
Sincerely,
-Tom Cannon (aka inkblot)
