What is wrong with that?

:lol Nothing, as far as I'm concerned. I wish SE would take a hint from other MMORPG developers and make the whole experience less of a guessing game.

I'm sure each week SE have brainstorming sessions to come up with new ways to piss us off, I'm sure the fatigue system was dreamt up from one of those meetings.

The more I played the beta with armor and equipment becoming available, the more I began to enjoy it. I no longer felt completely hindered by the game when I was able to get a decent shield and new weapon. The shortcomings in this beta were great, but I can see what they're going for. SE's got this huge development plan that seems very promising, but it's the execution that could screw the whole thing up. Granted, I'm not gonna default back to some other MMO. XI and PSO were the only online mmo/rpgs I've ever played...so I won't be playing anything else but XIV, regardless if it has issues @ launch.

So i got 2 faction leves available (just 9 points away from getting 3) and they're dissapointing, maybe it was because the rewards i got were retarded and not worth the time lol, 2 canvas hats and thats it, and 600 extra gils from treasures, they were waaaay easier than your regular cedar/hollow lvl20-30 leves and were incredible bland, oh wellz, cya all in OB i guess.

4)Ask about the difference between Companies and Linkshells, if there is a difference? Basically just explain them both as much as possible, including bonuses such as special transport, etc, that may be included later on.
- Linkshells are smiliar to those in FFXI, you can have more than one and its more for friends.
- Companies are more like Guilds, like in other MMOs, property can be shared.

http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/11911-currahees-dev-team-interview/

So they seem two different systems. Hope to see something about it in OB.

Seems like Tanaka's pretty pissed at the overblown misinformation on fatigue judging by his twitter :lol

Hopefully they just forgot to ask.

The answer will probably be "everyone subs THA". Mind Spikes is hilariously OP and unless they shake up hate major or GLAs get their shit together mages certainly don't have to worry about never being hit.

Does anyone have a beta forum account, btw? I found an honest-to-goodness bug that I doubt anyone else will, and would kind of like to report it.
If you switch the language from Japanese to English using the config app, it will automatically swap confirm and cancel buttons.
If you then attempt to navigate the dropdown boxes for selecting a job to choose actions from, or selecting a particular section of the journal, both buttons will then be treated as cancel.

Do people use their real birthday for their character's nameday?
I do. I don't know the effect of the nameday stuff so I just used my birthday. I also put my guardian deity to the Scholar one because that seems more suitable for a mage (being all educated and what not with the learnings of magics)

Supposedly, its not much different than we originally thought, there is a post over at BG talking about the fatigue.

You get 8 hours per class per week to level as you see fit after that point you start to gain 10% fatigue per hour, so after 15 hours a week you are gaining 0 XP.

What the hell are they thinking, that just over 2 hours a day.

Physical level will also gain this fatigue so after 15 hours per week you won't gain anymore physical XP LOL.

It's just a terrible idea, SE are retarded, the only reason the game needs this system is because they have rushed the game out the door with no end game.

Any dev with half a brain would have added more TNL or reduced the XP from mobs to lengthen the leveling, but no they have to make it look like they are screwing us over !

(repost here)

I really hope they don't ruin all that potentially good game with this thing..

Btw, bet in a cancellation or in a GIGA-nerf in the release. After the millions of negative feedback approaching in the next few weeks.

Wait, it affects your physical rank as well?

Maybe in another lifetime. . .
open beta

I spent most of my time exploring the areas to see how far I could go since I know leveling would be pointless since I got in so late :lol

Think I will go hyur for release, lalafell armour looks crap, just compare Kandinsky's robe to mine.

Kind of looks like a potatoe sack.

Yeah, that looks pretty bad on the Lalafell. But in general I'm really enjoying most of the armor designs. Very rustic and natural and that's what I want to see.

I hope the high end stuff, when it comes, is pretty impressive.

I hope they have a wider variety of job specific armors for the higher levels.I remember FFXI had a bunch of high level armor pieces for jobs that shared the same exact model or was a color swap.:lol

Well, since I can't log into the game anymore, I'll post this screenshot I took a week ago. I won't be playing the open beta or the retail game, so I guess this is my farewell to Eorzea!

Asset reuse is inevitable even if not by funding for system constraints, it's why an SSD is one of the biggest ups you can do for your rig in a lot of MMOs. I just hope it's (asset reuse) not worse than the standard considering the high quality of the modeling on it.

Eorzea - Making of a Realm #5:

And some news, by ffxivcore:

This week’s issue of Famitsu revealed the singer of the opening theme, one Suzan Calloway. The piece is, naturally, composed by Uematsu.

It stated that this song can be heard in the opening scene, so they are presumably referring to the vocals heard while on the boat. It also provided details regarding the openings for Ul’dah and Gridania. In other news, Dengeki featured an interview with director Komoto, concepter Iwao and planner Sato regarding the design and scenery of the two new areas.

-Based around the themes of wealth, power and excess, Ul’dah has had a coliseum, casino, etc. planned for it since the start of development.
-It won’t be ready in time for official release, but they want to make such facilities usable by players.
-Ul’dah is known for its glass handiwork, and you’ll see stained glass around the city akin to that adorning guildleves.
-Among the three nations, Gridania has the strongest influence over magic.
-Moogles this time around will make their appearance as mysterious denizens of the woods.
-Battle music differs depending on the area and nation.
-Climate affects monsters’ ecosystems.
-Moon phase has an impact on various things.
-Guild Tokens can be attained via Class Quests in addition to Guildleves.

*Famitsu’s article doesn’t seem any different from the other things we’ve seen about the new areas. Maybe a couple new things:

-Ul’dah opens with a parade sequence in which a wild goobbue runs rampant. It occasionally uses an ability called Beatdown.
-The Gladiator guild is fittingly located in the Coliseum. Ul’dah is also home to the Mining guild.
-Moles use an ability called Breakout, during which they dig underground and burst up underneath you.
-If you head north out of Ul’dah, you’ll find yourself in an expansive desert region known as Central Thanalan.
-Gridania’s collection of guilds includes Lancers, Archers as well as Conjurers, etc.
-Funguars and Morbols will make an appearance.
-A new guildleve pits players against a swarm of beastmen of varying classes. Overcoming this challenge rewards players with a chest undoubtedly full of enticing spoils and bounty.
-Gridania is surrounded by a dense forest that can prove to be rather labyrinthine.

Thanks for that info. Nice video too.

Moogles this time around will make their appearance as mysterious denizens of the woods.

interesting.

-Moon phase has an impact on various things.

lol crafting and drops.

Climate affects monsters’ ecosystems.

I hope they explain this in better detail.

Guild Tokens can be attained via Class Quests in addition to Guildleves.

I hope we can try Class Quest in the beta.

Gridania is surrounded by a dense forest that can prove to be rather labyrinthine.

please not Yuhtunga Jungle (but made into a forest) all over again.

If Gridania being the magic capital wasn't enough to get me started there the moogles definitely are.
going to start in Ul'dah for the OB though, not gonna spoil Gridania.

Exactly my plan. I'm not even going to be a mage but the moogle's and the forest/windurst feel, it draws me in. lol

What if there are cute little moogle huts all around the forest? That would be so awesome :).

Itd be even cooler if moogles were mobs in the game so we can kill them >;(

That's half of one "market". Imagine 15 more you have to zone into . Who needs an AH to buy stuff, amirite!?

We'll see. At this point I've got very little faith in SQE. There are some points where they will listen to fans and some where they feel the need to press ahead in their silly agenda. I can't quite tell which way they will go on fatigue.

This is what really gets me. Are we really expected to check out all the market wards? Or did they say there will be a search?
