Been saying Ala Mihgo was 4.0 for ages now.
It's literally the only thing we have going for us in the story along the same style Ishgard was hinted at before 3.0. Moreover, Garleans have more or less rallied from their loss and are encroaching on us again. We'll probably just retake Ala Mihgo and secure a foothold for 5.0 INTO GARLEMALD

I know it's always been Ala Mhigo, but we actually have to go there to save shit as opposed to just running away. It's gonna be whatever Yda and Papalymo are looking into.

Ala Mihgo is the most likely place for 4.0 but given what has happened with the heavensward expansion I expect Ala Mihgo would just be the start, there is likely going to be some other location of high importance that will be set in motion that won't be related directly with garlemald, if we don't have content that takes us to the moon, I fully expect that will be an actual place we visit in 4.0 since its also pushing us to that locale and Yoshida mentioned wanting to go there right before 3.0 released. Remember Yoshida mentioned from the start that 4.0 would not require the patch story enhancements to participate in the content (3.X he mentioned) but that does not mean it won't require 3.0, the originaly story, since the new expansion will likely have majority content set to lvl 60. The only content from 3.0 story that we aren't tackling and likely finishing in the 3.X series is the Moon storyline (Warrior of Darkness), and the advancement of the Garlean forces with the new emperor at the front of it all. Some elements of the Warrior of darkness storyline is showing up in 3.X but no more then teases.
The other things that point to that is of course all the Ul'Dah storyline (Nanamo red herring) from 3.0 and the new platoon content coming in 3.4 where we use our grand company to train a squad/mini army, and a direct war with Ala Mihgo would be obviously the best way to add that content into the game (Train for the eventual conflict). Having said that I am curious to see if that is the route of the new expansion what new areas they will be adding. I feel like a war with Garlean Forces would not happen on just one front, I am hoping they will take the opportunity to add some additional territory back into some of the old locales (lost or completely new) like West Shroud, Northern Highlands of Coerthas and the eastern low lands, or new territory between the Crystal tower and the western shroud (the missing portion of lower Mor Dhona) or Pagalthan, or the Volcano/northern part of Vylbrand, but maybe they will save that for a more focused expansion down the line.
Think it is fairly safe to say the whole dragon song conflict will end in the 3.X patch line. My guess is the final story arc will be a dedicated trial between Nidhogg and the Players, he has changed after all now that he has both his natural eyes as well as Dragoon capabilities, should make for a fairly different fight

I got WAR to 60 the other day. They are easily the best tank when it comes to stance dancing. It feels so fluid unlike PLD where it uses up a GCD. I probably wouldn't mind it if Sword Oath did something more. Like maybe it does an single target or AOE attack upon activation.

Yea this whole ishgard storyline has come to a screeching halt, I'm ready for a new expansion. Any ideas of when it may drop? I'm thinking summer 2017

Over half of my FC has stopped playing due to Dark Souls III, so much so that we've created another chat in our Discord for it.

I hope for the game's sake it's spring next year at the latest.
If we assume they don't totally fail on hitting their patch schedule, and go with slightly over three months per patch, we should see 3.3 around early June, 3.4 in mid to late September, and 3.5 no later than mid-January. I really hope the 2.5-3.0 and 3.0-3.1 dead zones made them realize the game can't really support five month gaps in content.

At least in this game i don't lose all my Gill and EXP after wiping twice .
Actually , that may be a extreme but effective way to help people learn fights : Git gud or lose everything .

Summer will be too long of a wait for most people. That would mean two years of Heavensward. Even if they do content updates to tide people over, I think a lot of folks would just unsub and wait for the expansion. Hopefully all those people that got reallocated to FFXV will be back after that game is done so XIV can be updated as frequently and as well as we saw in ARR.
getting fucked over in college with so much work and exams, haven't been able to log in for awhile now. I'll probably let my sub run out at the end of this month, then re-sub once I'm done with this semester. Can't juggle both, it's impossible.

This is completely normal. I pretty much rushed my anima to be done before exams on purpose. I just wouldn't have had the will to do it after exams because it is just more boring crap

It'll be unveiled at Fan Fest this December. That seems the most logical time frame with a spring/early summer release.
Yeah but Heavensward was unveiled at fan fest in oct of 2014 and wasn't released until June 2015. Doing that again would be bad.

I must say that I'm not really enjoying crafting at all, unlike gathering which I find all 3 of them relaxing, I'm just doing crafting because everyone keeps saying that's the way to make money and I really need it.
And I guess I also need it to repair / Materia / Glamour stuff.

Be careful. To truely make millioms, you need to be a fully geared specialist, which itself takes tens of millions to craft and meld the equipment.
If you are getting into crafting, I would honestly recommend you study on what gets used/bought the most and focus on making those. Things like potions and food. The investment to do so is basically getting to 60. You won't be making millions right away, but if your willing to gather the materials yourself, the profit margins are decent and sales steady.
