Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward |OT| The Midas Touch

I think that's why you felt the way you did. For me
I looked at Haurchefant as very close friend because he was always there for me and just felt like a bro and Ysayle I looked at as a rival who eventually became a very good friend. Losing both of em sucked like hell but to see them again was great. If we would've lost Estinien too I'd be pissed since he's another character I'm attached to since I've been with him for awhile as a Dragoon.

We can definitely agree on that last part. The fact that we knew Estinien before Heavensward and he got such a major part was awesome. You could argue the same about Ysayle, since we met her before Heavensward as well. The overall narrative of including characters that you might or might have not met because of what classes you play is great!

The questline after you finish the MSQ is pretty good, though. But yeah that bit after the trial was anime as fuck.

Estinien dropping a bouquet at the entrance to Azys Lla in memory of Ysayle is really well done. Looking forward to him showing up in future quests.

So uhh

Why throw Nidhogg's eyes into the Abyss, why not destroy them?

Also...I thought Hraesvalgar died? With the whole wing cut off and transferring his power to the WoL?

I wish they had to kill Estinien :( I hated his character in Heavensward, so annoying

Don't like it when people seem to think watching a video or reading a bunch of guides prepare you for knowing the Savage fights. It never sticks with me until I do it several times

Tried Nidhogg EX for the first time tonight and well... we didn't make much progress as it was a random party learner. It seems like it is all about dodging but the dragons completely shredded the tanks. Is there a tank swap involved that someone didn't do?

So since I'm at i200 since I came back would the best way to gear up be Midas normal get some decent enough gear?
If you are at 200 or above then do Midas to gear up, or you could do the new story dungeon and Hullbreaker Hard for 215, but then the loot is RNG, at least with Midas you can choose items but compete with others for the rolls.

Just read slycers translation about palace of the dead that he put up earlier in the day.

I know there are people looking for challenging content to participate in light parties. Is this intended to be difficult four person content as you get towards floor 200?

Yoshida: The story will probably end around floor 100. Then the rest of the floors up to 200 would just be there as a tough challenge. That being said, please realize it's still under development.

I don't know if I should get my hopes up for challenging 4 man content (floors 100-200).
Though that save feature seems like a pain in the ass. At least the idea and what is being said makes it sound interesting.

Guess I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

Palace of the Dead is definitely the most interesting thing to come right now.
Aquapolis is just a gimmicky treasure map extension (that booted us after 3rd floor so I'm salty).

Nerf Weeping City of Wiping please.
It doesn't need to be nerfed, but it's unfortunate that 1 alliance holding you back can wipe you on Ozma. I've been running it with people for them to try to get their clears, and I'm like 0/5. Last run we made it to Ozma no problem and someone even had a macro explaining all the mechanics for new people, then spent 1 hour failing on Ozma because 1 alliance kept wiping...

To be honest....
Calofisteri
was a lot harder to me. Ozma is just very gimmicky and people don't know his patterns well enough. Meteors especially.... though I have to admit I was confused at first as well.

Any power leveling tips from the vets here?

That depends where you are at. Generally, challenges and fates are the way to go and leveling roulette. Level roulette gives massive exp and will always almost guarantee you a level. Fates in Northern Thanalan will get you to 50 really quickly. Power leveling in HW, however is even easier, imo. Just do your level roulette every day and a couple of fates plus dungeon runs.

The people most interested (In my FC at least) in farming Nidhogg EX for weapons seem to be the ones who have had A8S on farm for quite some time now. I find it odd but maybe they just want to stay sharp.

I wish the relic had an option to let you run midcore content instead to get it. I'd rather run a few older ex primals or something than grind for days and weeks

Got my 10 clears off Nidhogg Extreme earlier. Pretty easy fight, only took a couple lockouts to learn. It's also extremely forgiving when it comes to deaths/enrage timing.

Fun fight though.

I'm obsessed with the new Mhach gear set, got the body piece, can't wait to get the rest.
Like it way better than that Slipstream gear

Finally got 1 million mpg and picked up Fenrir. It's too bad it's ending because I could have easily gotten the turtle mount in a day. Now I can finally focus on story content.

for the warring triad cutscenes

how come y'shtola got blinded by the flashball lol

It's because
the flashbomb also released a generous amount of aether, overloading Y'shtola's new vision-

haha just kidding A N I M E

Also Regula's super was cool and all but he's been beaten three times, how is the game still trying to make him a threat? Cape Westwind Roe's zombiefied corpse would be more scary at this point.

Is fishing as pointless as I think it is

I actually enjoy it
It's pointless until later levels if you don't have Culinarian
Any power leveling tips from the vets here?
Get the Novice ring for extra xp till level 30, do you hunting log and leves until level 16, from then on you can do your dailies and guildhests then spam the highest level dungeon you can do. Once you get level 35+- you can also go to Coerthas and start a fate party, do beast tribes once you're in your 40s and then try to set up a N.Thanalan fate party once you're 45. At 50 it gets much easier, HW beast tribes give silly amounts of XP and there are usually more fate groups thanks to crystal farming. HW dungeons are also excellent for leveling.

If you're leveling a healer or a tank you can just skip most of this and do nothing but dungeons.

There's a precedent for passing the eyes around, in the final escort scene you can see Hraesvalgar got his eye back, and that probably just healed him right up.

I don't think anything that powerful is easy to destroy. Theoretically holding onto them long enough to destroy them could've warped WoL or Alphi's mind, like Estinien's was.

My static already got 2 Nutkins in Aquopolis. First one we sold for 5mil, we went to the market board yesterday to sell the second one and it's already at 2,5 mil. Aquopolis is breaking the market board.

I like Aquapolis. Sure, it's only a treasure map extension system but I'm happy they're starting to build upon what's already there. It's fun to run with casual friends and it's well done.

Maybe they'll do something interesting with hunts some day.

Good. I want my own nutkin. We dropped one yesterday but it still sells for a pretty good price, so I didn't even roll.

Would you say it's easier to farm Nidhogg EX than Sephirot EX? Trying to gear up my DRG with a better weapon.

Nidhogg Ex is more comparable to i180 Ravana Ex than Thordan/Sephirot in terms of difficulty IMO.

There will be no Goblin beasttribe quests as he felt Alexander was pretty much their beasttribe quest in a sense .
I actually really like the Beast Tribes quest lines, it makes me sad that we won't have any more for the remainder of 3.x.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!

Thought something like this might happen. I got some of the Thav glamours last night too. I know they're cheaper now but they used to be stupid expensive.

I'm wondering chow aquapolis will fair over time. It should stay "relevant" and fun so as long as they rotate out the items that are available from time to time maybe? I'm not even sure what the full loot pool is right now.

So not too bad to farm? That means good things for my lore count if I can nab a Nidhogg weapon by week's end!
Honestly after you get through it once it shouldn't be hard to farm at all, there are few mechanics that will wipe you if you mess up and there's a lot of room for recovery in my experience.

Aquapolis makes me want some sort of boss rush mode even more now. Something related to combat with RNG to it. Fighting a mob of enemies in there only to have a cyclops miniboss drop in out of nowhere was pretty sweet. Would love to see something like that but more fleshed out.

I don't know, just seems kind of OP to me in the universe...

I just feel like you aren't guaranteeing it is destroyed that way...what is down in that Abyss?

That's good to hear about Nidhogg because I still haven't cleared Sephirot and it took me the entire patch cycle to clear Thordan...

I love Beast Tribes too...gave me a good reason to log on!
