If loldrg, then just accept your fate:

Death. Too many puddles of death to avoid jumping into one. Bennus eating your face everywhere, and Meracydias chomping at your heels.

Im glad they're going to focus on adding something for FCs to do thats not as easy as CT but not as demanding as Coil.

Cant wait to see how much better the game looks utilizing DX11.

Yoshi pls make Nael not push into Favor until hf is done. :( pls

Which heavensfall exactly? The 2nd or the 3rd? Can only assume it's the 3rd because pushing the 2nd would mean amazing dps that are doing it for nothing more than lulz. If it's the 3rd though....people really need to be picking things up if they can't push the boss with 110+ gear and the 10% buff. Are you using lb on either of the adds or add + boss? if not then that could be something holding you back.

Pushing favor when the 3rd heavensfall is going out though....things need to be worked on quite a bit if dps are doing that poorly with the 10% buff.

Curious to see DX11 enhancements. I'm not expecting too much. I wonder if the PS4 will keep up with the improvements. The port is pretty good but runs into some FPS issues here and there.

Or a melee LB3 timed inappropriately. Pugs, man, if this was my group I could just scream at them "hold DPS" in the voice chat. In 28 clears half of which were pugs, we've only recovered from ghost coming out at Favor once, and I'm still not sure what happened then. It's a very specific Ramuh-style bottleneck that isn't pleasant to avoid at all.

Is there a way to get a macro icon to display as usable when you attach multiple buffs to it? Like /micon would show the cooldown for whatever ability you set the icon to, but if you attach multiple buffs with multiple cooldowns, is there an icon to show when each one is ready or nope?

No, and I'm not sure how that would even work (or why you would want to do this- scholar?).

You could always put the other buffs somewhere on screen so you can see when they are ready I guess, but that is closest you'd get.

Doesn't require amazing DPS. We get Bahamuts Favour during 2nd Heavensfall now with echo buff. And that's with a 2nd tank too (well 2nd tank in DPS mode as I single tank ghost + nael).

2nd Heavensfall allows you to stay in one spot outside of a minor dodge for the pie slice back and forth. Just gather right after the 2 supernovas drop.

Bard actually. I was hoping to have one button with Raging Strikes, Internal Release, Barrage, some others that I just reactivate as they go down with a single button. I still do that, and as you said, have them all visible, but oh well. Will either keep it this way or just mash at intervals.

So... Some jobs have a lot of skills, and I'm beginning to think that if I want to play some optimaly, I will need to drop the X360 gamepad and play Mouse+Keyboard. I've been doing very well with my Paladin, White Mage and Bard with the gamepad, but I definitly feel that I'm not good enough to play Scholar that way, and with the upcoming extension I don't know if I will be able to be able to keep playing with the gamepad (I like to be able to see my abilities with cooldown all the time, and my actions bars (cross?) are really getting crowded). Do some of you did that?

If you want to see cooldowns you can put them on some regular hotbar just for that purpose. If you need extra fast access space you can try using Expanded Hold controls (in character configuration), though one extra hotbar is not enough if you also PVP often.
Now I don't know how gamepad scholars put up with the need to constantly ground-target. It's awkward on DS4 at best and straight up impossible on a regular gamepad.

In regards to ground targeting, you get used to it after a while. I'm already moving my camera and character into position for placing it before I even hit the button for the skill. I suppose playing a shitload of Bard has helped me in that regard. It only ever got annoying for me in T8 as I was doing brainjack and to place my fire under The Avatar I had to step back a few steps and sometimes it would fuck up brainjack

L2+R2 gives more space, you need to activate it in the settings though.
SCH? just leave the pet on auto and remove its hotbar, you might need placement only.
I don't use the extra hotbar and I'm doing fine with my SCH.

@Frumix : Didn't know I could put some hotbars even in gamepad mode. Thank you, I will definitly use that!

Already using L2+R2. It is quite handy indeed.
However, leaving the fairy in auto-mode? Nope. Never. I need full control of her, otherwise she is using her abilities when it is the least useful. I can't even fathom doing end-game content with her in auto-mode.

You can usually auto fine with Selene as she generally rotates her DPS buffs well, Eos on the other hand is a little dense and has no idea what she's doing haha.

So I finally beat Mog Ex (thanks, all!) but there was no journal update or anything. Now I think about it, I didn't have any journal entry for it in my duty list. I thought maybe I abandoned it by mistake (unlikely) but when I speak to Uranger he doesn't mention it. He also doesn't mention about Levi EX. Could this be a bug?

Mog EX quest much like those for coil is completed without actually doing the duty.

Just to note, this is actually a pretty terrible idea for DPS.

If I had a dollar for every time a girl has said this to me...

He sure likes to roll on gear like one though.
You figured me out :<

So... Some jobs have a lot of skills
I have a bar up for my important CDs and some of the skills I have on my extended crossbar. There are also some skills for some classes you don't typically use very often, so I put those on a different hot bar that isn't my main or my extended, so I still have access to them when I need them but they don't take up any more important slots. Obey for Eos is one of those such things, since I'll summon her, set it to Obey, and go from there. I guess you could easily use the pet hotbar for that, but I fumble around too much with it.

I don't really play bard but surely you want your cooldowns on a more grandular control than that so you can use them when the situation demands rather than whenever they are up.

Oh really? Maybe that's it. But I can't get the Levi Ex quest off Uringer now. Is there something else I need to do first?

Have you completed the main Scenario quest "Through the Maelstrom" (aka the whole quest line from patch 2.2)?

If so, I don't know what's up then.

Ninja right now is both top DPS, and a huge utility class for the party. It probably should lean towards one or the other.

Dragoon really ought to be Second Place DPS, given that it adds relatively little utility to a fight. A better disembowel would help with that some, (15%, so that even without dot damage it buffs bards about 10%,) but even that wouldn't compare with Ninja's Goad, silence, group dot, etc.

I tend to agree that Monk should be top DPS, since they're relatively low utility outside that Heal Up move of theirs, Mantra, and since their rotation is more complex than Dragoon, even if it's currently a lot more forgiving.

After they soften the positional requirements, playing Dragoon well will become a whole lot easier than DRG. So, yeah, 2nd place highest DPS would be a good place for the class after that.

That said, I think all melee classes should be, "relatively," close to each other, in terms of damage output. That way even being third place isn't all that big a deal. That sort of thing really only becomes a problem when one class pulls far ahead of the rest, or another class falls way behind, (as was the case with Dragoon.)

Tabris allows you to do this in his group? Wow. That's honestly shocking to me. You'd be so much more effective if you micromanaged your pet.

It's not even that hard. With eos think of it like having access to 3 more healing cooldowns you can use at critical moments instead of whenever she feels like blowing them.

Not to mention it's way more fun. Dropping bubble, fey illumination, succor and fey covenant before big raid-wide damage, then following it up with a rouse + whispering dawn at the same time. so good~
