Final Fantasy XV Demo Previews/Impressions Thread

Square Portal said:
When you’ve spent your entire life looking out at the serrated city skyline, it’s easy to lose yourself in the sprawling Duscaen landscape. The prince and his retinue were halfway to Cauthess when their daydreams came to a sudden, screeching halt—the Regalia’s last gasp before giving out to the unpaved backroads.

Now they were truly lost in the landscape: broken down by the side of the road with the Disc well out of walking distance. The Archaean, Titan, would have to wait. He’d been dormant for ages anyway. The first order of business was getting back on four wheels.

Possible text from the backstory splash screen as the demo loads?

Apparently there's a new region we haven't heard of yet: Cauthess

Can't until capable people will make the combat system shine on YouTube videos! Man the demo is just around the corner.

Edit: Xemnas89 limited.

I really hope this is just for the demo. No overworld music in fields would be terrible in the final game.
I don't know if having a constant over world theme would be too good. At least for a world map of this size. The same tune playing over and over gives me huge headaches.

The only thing that has me concerned is that the ability to teleport might make combat to simple, as far as technical issues, id imagine the final game is still a little over a year from launch so I'm sure they will be ironed out, likely in return for some graphical performance, but still you never know, particularly with this game.

This game is in development for 8 years and people says the demo was rushed?

Still I love RPG's and I hope it comes to PC too as I don't plan to buy a PS4 or XONE in the near future.

The game hasn't been developed for eight years. It's been announced. Biiiig difference.

Anyways, this is looking great. I'm excited to play it in a week and a half, it's going to be a blast. Not watching the videos just yet aside from a minute or two but am exciiiiited.

I'm sure they will be. Unfortunately this is kind of a rushed demo to release alongside Type-0. I always felt this demo was more to show off the battle system and game systems more so than show off the world. Which still looks amazing.

optimization is usually the last thing done in development and we're still talking about a game that's at least a year away.

You're right!

The game is in development for like 3 years I think.

Between this and Mass Effect next year, I'm going to be in action-RPG heaven.
The ccombat sustem looks great to me. I have said this before but more options (manual weapon switching) is not inherently better game design. the weapon slot system looks a lot better and more suited to a rpg to me. i hope it delivers

Two more previews added.

Nova Crystallis (Kagari) and RPGSite Podcast

There’s a lot to talk about – so rather than a regular article explaining what we played and what we thought, we’ve recorded a special edition of the TetraCast, our sister site RPG Site’s Podcast. This special edition focuses only on Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, with a whopping hour and a half fo in-depth explanations and analysis of the content of the demo – all while remaining spoiler-free.

Destructoid

During a meeting with Square Enix today in Boston, the publisher gave me over an hour to delve into Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, but it just wasn't enough time. I want to spend more time in this world, leaving no stone unturned, and now I find myself eagerly awaiting the opportunity to do just that when the demo launches alongside Final Fantasy Type-0 HD later this month.

Woah, wasn't expecting a blowout today. I know we've been saying this a lot but it still feels so surreal to be getting so many updates about this game. Can't wait for the full release!
