Final Fantasy XV - Jump Festa Active Time Report information + video

Nevermind. It looks pretty cool. Is the world supposed to be populated with many cities and towns? I assume there's no world map and it's all just one big open world. PEACE.

Yeah, Cidney only looks good from the neck up, to me.

Edit: If we can just going into town without load screens, that would be pretty cool. Also, I wonder if Noctis being able to stand up in the car will mean anything. Maybe some car battles? Dog needs to be a party member.

It's possible that we get to tweak their gambit setting and do unique group combo with them. So in that sense, you have some degree of control over them. :p

I hope that's the case. Kinda sucked you got a good amount of guests joining you in FFXII, but they were all auto.

Hey, at least she's showing less skin than Rikku. *shrug*

Yeah, she IS dressed more up than FFX-2's Rikku. Hell, I think she's more covered up than Yuna in X-2.

It's basically a mix of both of her outfits.

I personally see her as a mix of ^above Rikku and CoD:BO2 Zombie campaign's Misty:

Southern twang and all.

Yoko shimomura finally bring back some electric guitar (it was a long time since legend of mana), that's awesome!

And yeah, that's all i retrain from this trailer! The game looks good, but after FF13 and some design choice (boy's band whoohoo), i prefere to stay neutral and not be to excited, disappointement is really common with square-enix

Any news shared on the next Active Time Report? Would be great if they keep us up to date with monthly reports, love how they address questions.

I don't really mind her design that much (although it is a bit silly), but I cringed pretty hard at the line about the male stuff working hard on her. Like.. really? Did they really need to say that? Now I'm just imagining some of the male staff at SE really perving out while working on her cutscenes.
Yeah I don't mind her design at all either, but yikes lol @ that comment about the male staff. At least we know exactly why she was designed the way she was, so people can drop the "that's how mechanics dress!!!" argument. It was pretty dumb anyway.

Hardly, there are male characters with little clothing on that would fit straight in Magic Mike as well, both sides have it this time around.
Exactly! For once everybody wins.

I think they only mentioned that they might talk about the free demo in detail on the next one. I could be wrong.

5 pages and no mention of Noctis' Stinger into Million Stabs =X

Cid is waifu, but there's other stuff people.

And I think summons (at least the big ones) will be only usable in the world map (or certain parts in the story). I just hope that it's not as costly as Type-0 (you control the summon for less than a minute and your character dies).

If we are going to talk about interesting things picked up, I would like to talk about Lestarg(or whatever it ends up being called). What we know is Titan has some connection to it, and immediately I draw the comparison with Leviathan and Accordo(water summon and water city). and seeing some of the surrounding location in via the dog cam, it seems to be located in the mountains(fitting regarding Titan's an earth-elemental summon). I'm even lead to believe this more seeing a prominent theme regarding the city are pipes. Lots and lots of large pipes everywhere. I'm going on a limb, but I think those might originate deep within the mountain, and act as a means of pulling heat and thermo-energy from within the mountain itself. I also see a mixture of modern architecture and medieval style. Some of the windows are straight up "X" beamed medieval style, and the outer wall seems to be castle-wall/fortress-wall styled. There are also lift vehicles(like the one that takes you to Gold Saucer in FFVII, only much LARGER) that seem to either take you around the city or take you to another part of the area(and if this is indeed on a mountain, it might take you to another mountain, up the current mountain if Lestarg isn't located at the top or important locations separated by a chasm).

This game and Bloodborner are looking like what I expected (hoped) of Japanese RPGs on the new consoles.

How is the design any different than Winry Rockbell?

or Roll Caskett

Both are "mechanic" girls that show too much skin for the kind of work they do.

The difference is that Cidney is not cartoony so it stands out more.

Honestly, I consider Final Fantasy's art direction cartoony, just in a different way. Games like this, Dead or Alive, Musou, and possibly even Resident Evil may have characters with realistic proportions, but they still represent a very fantastical image of Asian people. At their most realistic they perpetually look like Asian pop stars in photo shoot makeup. A lot of the time they look like someone's imagination of a person, often a mishmash of Japanese bone structure and European features. Characters in these games very rarely look like average Japanese people, or average people in general.

I would say Yakuza is the "least cartoony" modern Japanese game I've seen.

This info excites me the most:

Summoned Beasts can be acquired after fighting them, and there are various other conditions for acquiring them as well.

The giant size of Titan seen in the trailer is how he’ll look when you summon him yourself.

The town shown is called “Lestarg” and it plays an important role in the story surrounding Titan. It is not a huge town, and won’t be in the demo. There’s a hotel where you’ll get to rest, eat, and shop, along with all kinds of other events.

If you go a while without sleeping, the stat boosts you get from foods and such will lose their effect.

The sleep element has been added to further emphasize that these characters are living people, so they’ll need to get rest just like any normal human. You can eat meals at camp for extra status effects.

You’ll need to take a breather in order to level up. So basically, if you don’t rest at a camping area, you won’t level up. This will make it possible for people to challenge themselves at beating the game at a low level.

You can go three days without sleeping, but any longer than that and you’ll begin to see negative effects.

One day in Final Fantasy XV is the equivalent of a real-life hour, so a day lasts for about 40 to 45 minutes, and the rest is night. This bit is currently in development, so it’s subject to change.

There will be moments where you’ll need to go on fighting for days at a time.

There are also trains to travel inside, and these will have their own spaces within them. You’ll travel by train at times, and can freely walk around inside when you do.

Insomnia is the capital of the Kingdom of Lucis, where Noctis is the prince of. This is where a ceremonial signing will take place.

You can purchase ingredients to cook at camp. By eating those foods, you’ll gain positive effects. By properly sleeping, you’ll maintain its effects.

This is the next gen sequel those of us who purchased Final Fantasy X have been waiting for. The above information suggests this is the most realistic Final Fantasy we'll see. Hopefully, Squeenix doesn't get any funny ideas and implements DLC ingredients. There is a market for ingredients.

Our characters should seem really tired after three hours of not sleeping and appear sluggish in battles.

Square needs to spend time procuring Activision's dog tech. Everyone's griping about downgrades and resolution but best believe someone will compare dog fur textures.

We need mansions and an in-game economy to cement this game's status as day one purchase, IMHO. If this game has airships and cars then hopefully they include motorcycles.

The trophies for this game could cater to the core gamer. Example: beat an enemy with 100 HP left having not slept for 24 in-game hours.

Summons turn into shadow of the colossus fights if this trailer is a glimpse into the future.

What's the estimated length of this game? Hopefully, they delay it six quarters to add an extra 20 hours of gameplay.

I may be wrong, but wasn't it stated that Tabata emphasised the "CID" when he spoke her name?
In the transcript he even says "Cid-ney". It's definitely Cid. I'm just confused as to why the localization team thought it was cool to change the name of a staple character to Cindy.

I think something has gone wrong with my gaming-tastes. I love Final Fantasy but none of this footage, as nice as it is, gets me hyped for the game itself. The scale looks huge and the world looks fairly interesting but it doesn't seem like Final Fantasy to me anymore.

Hnnnnngggghhhh...

My faith in in the FF franchise has been fully restored. They seem to be doing a really good job with everything (especially Cid) Day fucking 1.

I think this may be relevant to your interests. You do know there will bo no female party members? :P

There are ONLY four party members: Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto. That's not changing. But, they said Cor is going to be a "guest" character. FF's no stranger to these types of characters. Banon was on in FFVI, Larsa was on in FFXII. Hell, FFXII had a good number of guest characters that join you for certain parts of the game(even certain battles). The final battle, itself, you are joined by two guest characters, each helping you on a different form of the final boss. Something like THAT could happen in this game(not saying it WILL, but it's possible), and hell, if Stella is still a thing, there IS a chance she(or Luna) could also join as a guest.

Hopefully Noctis and crew aren't stuck in those black outfits the whole game. They look so bland next to glorious Cidney.

True. I love color in my character designs. Cidney, I think, is pretty true Nomura. Not talking about her face(which has that telltale Nomura look such as the specific shaped eyes, smile), but the colors. Bless Nomura and his love of primary colors. Red hat, yellow jacket, blue shorts. Yes, Tets, you went there!!!

It's basically a mix of both of her outfits.

I personally liked this design, i don't get the hate for Rikku ( i guess most of it comes from X2, which i haven't played).
On the other hand i don't like Cindy's, i think the cleavage is too pronounced, to a comical extent, and really hate that boots/leather stockings combination.

The goggles and cap are great tho.

If Cindy's supposed to be Cid then she should be Cidney. Fucking SE localizers, get it right. Don't make me come over there. Final Fantasy has Cid, damnit.

So what if Cid is Cidney/Cindy's dad. You know, wanted to name his firstborn son Cid Jr and all that and was so excited

Then the baby was delivered and it was a girl
