Hi-Fi Rush Leaker Claims Starfield And Redfall's Development Is In "Rough Shape" (Rumour)

I'd be unaffected if they push Redfall and Starfield to 2024 because I don't mind waiting a little longer for quality.

I've got plenty else (third party stuff) to look forward to this year, and as long as that stuff still arrives this year I'll be satisfied. Even in an alternate reality where every other game in the world gets delayed to 2024 I'd still be fine because I have a healthy backlog of quality games.

But I know that not everybody is in the same position as me, so I sympathize for thise folks that have nothing else to do until Redfall and Starfield come out, and I hope they won't suffer too much.

Xbox cannot afford to delay Starfield to 2024.
The shitstorm and damage to the brand's perceived ability to turn things around would be insane.
The only option they have is to release it this November in the best state it is. Hopefully it's not a Fallout 76 or Cyberpunk launch state.

Redfall and Starfield aren't anywhere close to being able to mitigate massive losses in other divisions, so rushing them out sounds like complete nonsense.

Redfall also didn't look rough at all...seemed pretty much ready to go gold shortly

So this rumor sounds like bullshit to me
Agreed. As I said a few days ago, they're rushing out Starfield to cover the Sting concert.

He isn't the source.

This guy absolutely has no idea what he is talking about.Azure is lifeline of Microsoft and it's massive. If it falls then no other division can offset it and stock will tank.

It can actually if they get Activision and launch COD dlc and Diablo IV on game pass.

I dunno could be fearmongering, its been a relatively slow news week with only the Xbox show coming out. To have a rumor mill start up detracting from it isn't too surprising as it happens for all sides. I actually thought that Redfall looks far better than that early leak when it lacked textures and whatnot. On the other hand it could be a little controlled op to try and inform the internet that in order to get games out on schedule they will possibly(likely) be buggy. They'll likely be planning on adjusting and fixing the problems post-launch as is the industry standard now. I don't care too much personally as I tend to not encounter bugs when I play. Even Cyberpunk on PS4 didn't give me issues, and I didn't have a single one in Fallout 4.

I lean towards pressing X to doubt on this one personally. Putting dates on some games shows confidence and they left others open, who knows when the Starfield show will arrive. I do still think Xbox needs some serious culture change and better management.

I think they'll be fine if the ActivisionBlizzard deal goes through. There will be some unhappy Skyrimmers looking forward to Starfield, but they're used to getting shit on by Bethesda anyway, and since there will be a larger number of happy ActivisionBlizzard gamers I think everything would end up as a net positive... unless Microsoft subsequently announces changes to Gamepass.

I wouldn't count on anything Activision related. It's such a shaky field atm that it's impossible to tell if the deal will go through and at which conditions/limits.

Still? I wonder what condition they were in last year when they were actually supposed to release if that’s the case.

That's why I don't believe it. Todd Howard even said they could have shipped on November 11th, but it would have been too costly for the team. I can't imagine he'd be lying that much that the game wouldn't be ready until nearly two years later.

Right. I believe the real reason why it was delayed last year is because they didn't want to go against COD. A new IP stands no chance against the fan favorite COD game. Might as well delay it and polish it up some more.

Well, that'd be strange as COD is there every year, so delaying to the next Fall doesn't really help with that.

They delayed it because it has to be their comeback and Microsoft's star game after the ZeniMax acquisition, so they're allowing more time for polish. But I don't really believe it's in rough shape still.

If this particular story perhaps are too hard for you to swallow/acept then youre welcomed to leave the thread

There was a time when unsubstantiated rumors such as this got threads locked. Anyway, enjoy your day. Hope it’s filled with good times and positive interactions.

Mate, this is Bethesda not some random devs/pub.
That don't mean anything. This isn't elder scrolls, fallout or some established IP. This is a new IP that didn't prove itself yet.

Just look at forspoken, new IP from an established third party publisher/developer and look how that turned out.

If anyone wants to think this guy is credible, here is where he got his info.

Ohh, I forgot about Rand announcing this game already. Yeah, the reset era guy probably scraped his information from this podcast.
Same thing 4chan users do to gain "credibility". They will tell you something that is true and then hit you with a bunch of lies/miss information.

I will 100% always believe any story that says management is pushing shit out the door; that’s literally every single company I’ve ever seen.
Every company has to push some kind of pressure to release a product/service or else it will never happen. Sometimes management will come up with unrealistic release dates just to get the product/service moving faster.

Yeah that's been my experience, I've been on projects where I've nonstop bitched that we aren't ready for release yet the shit brained management push it out. And it's always the devs who suffer if anything goes wrong, working long hours to fix.

And there only contribution to the shit release is to try and send you messages of support, like please fuck off and be useless somewhere else.

Microsoft, tries to force monopoly buy buying out competition in the billions then complains about a few million in losses, so instead of work harder using their nest egg of wealth they push for rush jobs and fire 10000 workers.

Yet silence and crickets from the anti-crunch pro union activists.... Hmm... Why is that? Why does m$oft get a free pass from these people yet other smaller devs get picked apart.

Main Bethesda with rpg route.
Both Skyrim and fallout fans would buy this game.

Not to mention Bethesda has huge followers.

Starfield has so much hype that I really don't see how they can live up to it.

Another open world game, inevitable side quests, it's just all the same in a different skin

To be fair, those games seem to sell really well. Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Fallout 4, etc. People love to play those types of games.
