Noted leaker claims to know the Xbox Ally Release date and price (Ally: $499. Ally X: $799. Preorder in August, release in October)

Native PC GamePass. Those games aren't always the same as what comes on Xbox consoles. It gets tricky.

PC gamepass is superior, but regardless, there have been windows gaming handhelds available for around that price point for a while now.

Isn't Z2E the one with NPU, guess it can't be used for FSR4. Claw 8 has good reception and I heard Intel is bringing out their big gun next year hope Intel will continue to compete in this field to push AMD.
Intel's Lunarlake iGPU's already competes or beats Strix Point in this configuration. And has proper XMX XeSS support over DP4a + FSR 3.

MSI's Claw 8 Ai+ has the Core Ultra i7 258V Lunarlake APU. Fairly pricey though at near the cost of this or more depending on region.

Things should get interesting when we move on to LPDDR6 and newer architectures on both.

The price for a high end handheld is not bad. The price for a FSR3 system in 2025 is bonkers. The price for a competitor of the Switch 2 without FSR4 is ayyyyyyyyy lmao

Guess I'll

Yeah, shame about the drivers for Intel though. Everyone said claw 8 is perfect until you run into driver issues. As long as Intel doesn't give up on GPU it will keep getting better.

Anecdotally, I have a laptop with an i9 288V and with the same 140V GPU and haven't come across any major issues with games with the latest drivers. Played a bit of Black Ops 6, Death Stranding and some Dead Space 2 on it. But I have seen other reviewers come across bug, crashes and glitches on their discrete Arc graphics cards. But yeah drivers should be the main priority for them as the initial ones for Alchemist were practically a disaster and still aren't anywhere near AMD never mind Nvidia.

Granted they are using a more advanced process I'm really impressed at what Intel have achieved with iGPU's this generation. Here's a more recent comparison the the Ally X and you can kind of surmise and estimate the Xbox ROG X's performance from here +10-20% and perhaps more at lower wattages.

It's £599 or £899 depending on the model. And who cares how much a PS5 is if you want to play PC games? PS5 ain't a magic bullet solution my man. PS portal sure as hell ain't.
I do believe you are correct.
For me I just love reading the posts by members who are all on board with the cost of this handheld, who deem it great value, who just under a year ago were In outrage about the cost of the ps5 pro. The usual suspects.
The hypocrisy is off the charts. It's funny.
Platform warriors hey.

Personally I think it's our hobby, and if you think something is worth buying go for it.

They're totally different devices. PC handhelds have always been expensive up until Valve blew the doors off with the Steam Deck. And they can price it the way they can because they own one of the largest gaming platforms. People who are more tuned into hardware used to see Aya Neo's, GPD Win and other Chinese branded handheld PC's north of £1100 with just basic Windows, not several years ago.

Fans of both sides will always find ways of attacking each other. But you can also say something is overpriced without being part of some brand tribalism.

Yes, but what does it mean? Will it be able to run all major games?
There's too many factors that dictates that answer.

Are you using Frame Gen? What resolution are you playing the game in? What graphic setting are you using? How much Power of the unit are you using? Are you using Windows 11 or Bazzite/Steam OS? etc

But to simplify things the best way to look at this is that if a game can run on Steam Deck it will run better on this Z2 Extreme device however if a game can't run on the Steam Deck because of the weaker hardware then it will barely run on this Z2 Extreme device.

As an example at the worst case scenario the still poorly optimized Dragon's Dogma 2 can't run on the Steam Deck but it will run on this Z2 Extreme device at 23-30 FPS~
