C.

Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Metroid Prime 4 were the standouts, but the rest of the show was pretty awful.

Solid C for me. Bit of a mixed bag. Some low lows, but rescued by the promise of a Zelda game and Metroid Prime 4.

The hardware is certainly showing its age.

If there were no Metroid, I'd give it a C. But Metroid Prime 4 shot it up to S-tier for me

A for me. Dragon Quest HD remake I, and II-III, Super Mario Brotherhood, Romancing Saga 2 remake, Echoes of Wisdom, Metroid Prime 4, and Fantasian. All coming out in 2024-2025.

new Zelda, Metroid Prime 4 unveiled, and Mario & Luigi make it, for like the 3rd year in a row, way better than it should have been.

Oddly I was kind of disappointed that we didn't get more scrap heap ports, like Prime 2 or Odyssey 2 or something like that. DKCR is really nice, that game needs a definitive edition.

I voted B, but I also went in with tempered expectations, this is the Switch's last year before the successor. Quite a few titles that were new surprises that I am looking forward to, and a new overhead Zelda and the Mario and Luigi game were really good to. Lots of remakes, but remakes of games I really want to play so for me a decent amount of stuff to end the year with.

In the wider context of this year in games? A.

New Mario, Zelda and Metroid all coming out within the space of a year, not just a string of trailers for games that'll get pushed to 2026.

Lots of games announced for sure but pretty much nothing for me except for Metroid Prime 4. Mostly cringey anime stuff and games for children, and some ports/remasters of games that I've already played so I'm sure a lot of people are happy about that.

C maybe

It was good for what it was. Not much exciting stuff, but I expect Nintendo to keep the heavy hitters for the New Switch launch.

A+

In order of most excited

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Dragon Quest I + II HD-2D Remake

Fantasian Neo Dimension

Mario & Luigi Brothership

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Phantom Braves The Lost Hero

The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy
Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of The Seven

Marvel Vs Capcom Collection

C -

The score could have maybe gone up if they deleted stuff from the showcase. Just no quality control at all. Funko Pops, Looney Tunes, Just Dance, remake after remake. Probably 20+ minutes of literal garbage.

The highlights are Zelda, Mario & Luigi and Metroid. Metroid is still a ways out. M&L looks charming, but probably a safe and kinda average entry. Zelda looks pretty creative, so I'm intrigued even if the visuals are pretty safe. Lots of experimentation in the gameplay. Metroid will be awesome, but far away.

Some nice 3rd party showings with DQ and Fantasian.

I could maybe go D+ honestly, but 3 1st party games counts for something I guess. I'll stick with a C -.

Have to say a B.

Mario & Luigi Brothership, Metroid Prime 4, Echos of Wisdom and Dragon Quest were the outstanding ones to me.

Super Mario Party Jamboree and an HD Donkey Kong Country returns are good hold overs though I'd rather have DLC for MP: SuperStars and a new DKC or remake of the SNES trilogy.

Outside of Nintendo stuff only M.I.O and MvC: Collection interested me.

The rest just wasn't for me. Announcement of ports and remakes of games I wasn't interested in mostly and why this one doesn't get an A.

Though the good stuff was really good.

Sorry, you seemed to drop this:

Nintendo just casually dropped the best Direct in years.

I am genuinely surprised the Marvel Collection didn't leak, it was my most hype moment. I'd have happily paid full price for a port of MvC2, so to have them all slapped together AND The Punisher, too? Great stuff from Capcom.

Zelda looks lovely. Wondering they have ironed out the frame drop issues the engine had in Link's Awakening?

Never finished DKCR, so if the price is reasonable I'll pick it up. No extras makes it easy to ignore at full price.

Finally, though, my girl Samus is back, and she looks GOOD. Prime 4 exists! Looks a bit more action focused, but I'm sure Retro know what they are doing. Can't wait!

DQ 1-3, Fantasian, Zelda where you play as Zelda, Metroid Prime 4, Ace Attorney Investigations. That's a solid A from me.
I would say a B for me but overall a great showing. Also you forgot Marvel vs Capcom collection which is going to be amazing.

And a good thing is that most of the interesting games save for Nintendo 1st party are not exclusives so we don't have to suffer through performance issues.

C for me.

Nice to know Metroid is alive but the trailer did nothing for me other than that.

Zelda will buy on switch 2.

Remake city and games im not interested in mostly

I have a decent size backlog on the switch so im not buying anything else on the switch until i find out ify digital library carrys forward come the switch 2 now.

One of the best Directs in a very long time. New 2D Zelda and Prime 4 are some of the best announcements of the entire Switch lifetime.

Yup, forgot a few there. I'm also looking forward to Marvel vs Capcom fighting collection, the new SRPG from Danganronpa creators and also Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven.
