How would you feel about an Xbox Series S+?

We don't need more confusion!

Things a PS5 has that an XSS with disc drive wouldn't:
  • Vastly superior graphics performance
  • Vastly superior SSD (with more space)
  • 3D audio using regular headphones (a good Atmos setup isn't cheap)
  • Sony 1st party exclusives
  • Etc
While those are some nice features, they're also expensive and variable. Pretty weak list if we're talking specifically about tangible value.

And I'm saying that as someone who wants a PS5 disc edition.

You know, somewhere in this world the xbox dude just snapped a finger and said 'gosh darn it' as you have uncovered his brilliant plan to corner the market

PLEASE STOP.

These consoles aren't even out yet and some of you are already starting the mad hype-train and endless arguments over theoretical new ones.

Don't you find this shit exhausting? Can't you just take a break from this for a while?

No to XBSS+. They can release an addon drive if their is enough demand without releasing a whole new SKU. Still think they should have gone the route Sony did with the less expensive console.

If it would have disc drive + support for more xbox OG games = I would considered it as BC box + for those few xbox exclusives. Digital only is just too expensive, as almost all xbox one games are like 5-10€ new/used and have been much cheaper as ps4 games because they are not popular at all. So disc drive would make it easy to have super cheap machine. And SSD is too small also for my taste so it is just too expensive as whole as 2nd system

So if I buy one for bc, I just get used one x as they are like 100e on good condition cheapest
This is a fair point.

If Microsoft continues XB1X Enhanced patch support (for high framerate specifically), I'd have no reason for a theoretical XSS+. But with it being discontinued, I'm a bit skeptical.

Honestly, I think it was a mistake for Microsoft to release the Series S. I Could be completely wrong, but I really don't see how the Series S could be the X but just at 1080p when it has significantly less ram and a gpu that is putting out a third of the teraflops as the x. I think One X put out more teraflops. Adding another SKU would add even more confusion to the mix.

It seems like instead of a Series S with a disc drive it would be a better investment to just pay a bit more for Series X. We really don't know how well developers will support Series S. If the support is great then maybe I could get behind this.
