NBA Finals 2016 |OT| - The King demands seconds. The Chef delivers.

Kyrie
JR
Schump
Love
Lebron

I guess that's one way to keep Iggy off Lebron on defense..Though warriors could just counter with taking Barnes off the floor and putting Livingston in.

The Cavs will be happy to let Barnes try and beat them. Even if Kyrie guarding him.

He is just not that kind of player. He is talented and occasionally he can catch fire and make a difference in a game or two, but he is not dependable enough to carry the load with this much pressure on him.

I just hope that the Lakers don't overpay him in the offseason. He is a good player, but someone is going to overpay him for what he is.

If you max Barnes, it's under the assumption that he'll at least be as consistently productive as Rashard Lewis, who played on back to back conference finals teams as a 3rd/4th option.

Barnes isn't even as good as on the downturn Lewis right now, but he's only 24 and still improving.

Starbury won championships for Beijing in the CBA...He's famous because he's a star player in the CBA. Delly isn't.

He's famous for being Lebron James' teammate and giving a solid effort in last year's finals. With the Warriors being huge in China, he's going to get a lot of facetime with his target demo this month.

The only way I'll be concerned is if this team goes down 2-0 or 3-0. I would be pretty concerned if it was 3-1 against because doing it twice in a row is pretty damn hard to pull off but this is the first team I've seen since the Bulls that I never count out. I'm sure we'll get lots of front running and chest thumping if it's 1-1 or 2-1 but that means nothing to the Warriors.

But still not on the level of Starbury. He's a national sports icon there because of what he did for Chinese basketball. Delly isn't going to get a statue let alone postage stamps or even a museum built for him.

How would that keep Iggy off Lebron though? With that lineup I suspect the Warriors would just put Curry on JR, Thompson on Kyrie, Barnes on Schump, Dray on Love and Iggy on Lebron.

Wait, I just realized that THU-SUN-TUE is gone.

What is this fuckery? Was there an explanation why they changed it?

It's due to the new finals home court format. It's no longer 2-3-2, but instead 2-2-1-1-1 like the rest of the playoffs. Because of the change, there's more travel time involved.

Agreed.

Even when the Warriors go small they should keep Lebron against Draymond and move Love to the 4 against Barnes.
What? No. Dray will be on Love abusing him on P&Rs over and over again until he's benched. Iguadala will be on Lebron for 35 minutes with Barnes and Green (rarily) on him for the rest of the time.

Yeah, I figured Steph would be on Schump but I suppose Steph could theoretically handle JR depending on which JR shows up from game to game.

This is a totally different series because of Kyrie's presence and level of play throughout the playoffs. The Warriors struggle against teams with PGs who can penetrate, finish, and shoot.

I don't think the Cavs have a shot at defending the Warriors lineup of death - they just don't have the pieces the way the Thunder do. Keeping them off the floor through attacking the basket is key.

I'm keeping an eye on Love's minutes in this series. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the low 20s some nights. This is a nightmare matchup for him.

I'll say Warriors in 7 or maybe 6.

They switched that last year and if IIRC, it was still THU-SUN-TU. Seems so random.

Yes it was, although if I remember correctly game 7 would have been on a Friday (I remember because I would have missed it).

I'm surprised they didn't stick to it and went with a Friday game - isn't that the worst night for ratings, generally speaking?

But that's what I mean. Cavs should put Lebron on Dray to blow up that PNR and stash Love on Barnes. Love on Dray won't work imo.

Now they can still seek out Love with other screeners, but it's the Steph & Draymond PNR that's usually most effective.

Agreed.

The Warriors may have lost two games in a row (for the first time this season) to the Thunder in OKC, but losing two games in a row at home? Not happening. I can see 1-1 at best, but l believe the Dubs will take the first two games at home.

I'm anticipating a Draymond suspension sometime during this series..Cleveland may not have a player that'll get under his skin but refs might be looking to T him up..

The refs don't really have to look for much of a reason. He was very very lucky to get out of the last 3 games of that Thunder series without a tech or flagrant call. All in all I thought the refs were very restrained and solid that series.

Green is lucky he doesn't get a tech every other game based on just how he reacts to big plays and/or bad calls.

A lot of players have been t'ed up for far less in the past.

Refs will swallow their whistle unless he does something crazy.

If it does happen, I really hope it's early in the series (games 2 or 3). Him being out later in the series would seriously suck.

Man, I'm so fucking pumped for the game tonight. The hype is making work a struggle.

I see a lot of people picking Cleveland.

Are people overreacting to the WCF?

Really? Aside from maybe casual fans, almost all media personnel are taking Warriors in 6 or 7. At least from what I've seen, not counting local media (I live by Cleveland.)

I'm seeing the opposite.

Wow, I'm really shocked to hear that. Everything I've read and watched today has been with said person taking the Warriors.

As for Green, I think either Thompson or Delly could agitate him, I don't know how many opportunities they'll have though. Although he may have been getting practice to rip Love's arm out on Adams, so you never know, it could be him.

Honestly I'm pretty surprised he said that. I thought OKC was arguably the better team, GSW just had the better shooters in games 6 & 7. If Durant stays with OKC it could be a great rivalry for the next few years.

Yea I hope both teams stay intact. I really loved their series.

4 hours to go and I'm hyped. I can't get into the regular season or early playoffs too much because of how inconsequential they are but I love watching good basketball. I imagine this series will be like 300 with LeBron fighting till the end and taking down many GS Warriors but eventually falling dead to the many 3's being rained above him.

You can watch the Finals on ESPN app right?

Yep

If cavs can't split these first two games at oracle, i think they're good as cooked.

That being said, hopefully GSW learned a lesson from game 1 in the WCF and don't get too cute at home and throw away the game.

I'm seeing the opposite.

From what I can tell its about 75/25 in favor of the Warriors across the major sports websites, if not higher. I'm not sure who you are looking at that has the Cavs winning more than the Warriors. It would be a major failure if the Warriors don't win it.

I'm rooting for the Cavs but would be shocked if they did win as I don't think the defense is there. No matter the outcome I hope it is a close series as the WCF was a lot of fun to watch.
