Here's an idea for next gen console game developers... Make the games with a CRT option in mind, that way you can have games running at very low resolution but with maxed out RT and high consistant FPS.
But seriously, this is a very interesting video from DF for those that haven't seen it.

You can't beat CRT in terms of the motion jitter and clarity at non native resolutions. I don't see myself moving back to CRT though.

Seems that the PS Plus Collection are going to be the PS5 PS Plus games, at least for launch. I assume that since there's a limited amount of PS5 games and they are moderately big, they will wait for at least some months before giving away PS5 games on PS Plus, and instead they may rotate some of the PS Collection (so PS4 titles only) games every month.

If you're in the US you should totally get one at Circuit City. I think they have a promotion where you get 20% if you purchase a VCR with it.
You might want to drop by Blockbuster and rent some cool cassette tapes while you're at it
Btw once you get there in 1995, just remember to invest heavily in this new company called Amazon. I know they sell books only, but I promise it will be totally worth it at some point

You jest, but VCR, especially the very rare digital hd variant, is still the simplest way to record video real-time from a live source to a portable video format. DVD and Blu Ray never got that worked out.
Best you can do now is a PC saving to USB, it doesn't have quite the same magic.

PS5 features a USB 3.1 gen 1 in the front (5Gbps or 0.5GB/s) and 3 USB 3.1 gen 2 USBs (10Gbps or 1.2GB/s), one in the front and two in the back.
The 'slow' USB port in PS5 is the same as the faster PS4 / PS4 Pro / Series X have, and that as we saw in Digital Foundry provide excellent results as external storage or to play BC games, specially if using as SSD as external storage.
So considering the internal SSD is over twice as fast as the Series X one, even with the slow USB will transfer stuff faster in PS5. But having 3 other USBs in PS5 that are twice as fast, why would you use the slow one for data transfer? That would be stupid, I assume this port is there for many devices that don't take advantage of the gen 2 stuff, specially legacy stuff like PS4 arcade sticks/pads/USB headsets/old external HDD and so on.
Regarding the lighting bolt icon, in PS4 you were able to use the usb to charge your DS4 controllers with the console in stand by mode, I assume it would

Thats what I thought too, but Sony called it "Hi-Speed USB" in their teardown, which is just USB 2.0. In their specs, they don't list a speed for that front USB port.

A friend's grandfather was listening to the friend and I grouse about these movies and how the un-did so much from the original movies and such and said something that struck me. He said that the original movies were made for our generation and the way things were and how we were brought up, while the new movies are made for those kids TODAY and how things are. He said we shouldn't be surprised by it, that's just how it always goes. Now, the emphasis being on things coming easy (like with Rey) and that no one is special...EVERYONE can be special..those are sort of themes today that are reflected in those movies. The more my friend and I thought about it, the more correct we think his grandfather is. They are just stories for the times NOW versus the older movies that were stories for BACK THEN.
Everything changes. I remember asking my grandfather before he died (he was a born in 1916 and had the Spanish Flu when he was 2-3 and still remembered it as the sickest he had ever been.) what it was like between when he was a kid and "now" (he died at 98 in 2004). He said it was like those 'crazy sci-fi movies you like' like he was on a different world. I mean, cars were still rare when he was very young. He said, movies on plastic disks...nobody using cash but using cards you scan....computers....all of it, was like being kind of like Buck Rodgers and just waking up on another world. He said how they made movies and stories had changed so much as well. His generation was about self-reliance and such and he felt that 'now' it was all about fantasy. That kind of thing.
Just made me think it's probably something that ever generation goes thru and thinks as they get older and society vastly changes from when they were younger.

Really meaty segment for Godfall here! First decent player to play the game and it shows. You can perfect parry bosses and take no damage. It seems like after the tutorial mission, the world is more wide open with objectives. Enemies seem pretty aggressive at that point and honestly this looks like a mix of Dark Souls, Diablo, and maybe Remnant of the Ashes. Still waiting to see how co-op works and I'll also probably wait for reviews, but looks much better than expected honestly and could be good fun.

I think it might be because that 1 port will work even if the console is powered off, but still plugged into a power outlet. Perhaps it was a cost cut and/or they didn't need more than that to charge controllers.

Well there is more youtuber footage of people actually playing PS5 games than for Xsex as of today.
In fact there’s more minutes of actual next gen PS5 games being played by youtubers, than all the footage released for the Xsex BC mode by all the youtubers MS chose to sign a marketing contract with.
So really, you’d have to say that it’s up to MS to catch up in terms of letting people see what they’ll get from their new console. Right now, there’s nothing much to go on.
MS having sent out those consoles - hundreds was it? - yet no one is able to show any content and they’ve had access for about 2 weeks now... What value is that to any prospective customer?

i don't think its going to be a masterpiece but from watching its early days its got better and better, solid 8/10 maybe a little more for me.
I would like to know how its going to be supported, is this a once and done, no dlc, no new weapons or armour being added to the game. Games like this need deep systems and content addition to make them last.
I hope they have them.
Besides that this game to me looks great, its something different on the ps5.
I might not get this at the start but i will def get this later down the line.
yeah definitely a wait and see. If the co op is good and once reviews see the amount of content. would be a nice pick up on a Christmas or new years sale. If only they would show the same amount of gameplay for Destruction Allstars I hope it is a mix of rocket league twisted metal and a little unknown game from xbox live beginning Whacked. I just wish they would show alot more.

This is just false. Also it is called NDA not a marketing deal and Sony did the same with PS4 last gen when they were competent. Yes no next-gen game from Microsoft for previews but that’s coming. Unlike PS5 which no one outside of very few actually got their hand on.

I must admit i am not to bothered about the start-up times, but what i do like there is how snappy the interface is.
That's another great thing about next-gen, getting rid of that, system lag i suppose you can call it?
My ps4 pro feels, sluggish sometimes when i navigate the menus, i want that feeling gone forever.
