why??? who the fuck is he?

this kid better be Jesus x Pele.

For that money, if he is, it'll be the signing of the century...7.4 million for a striker is pennies. He is young though...

Big guy - 6'2 (190cm). Used to be homeless. Used to play central defence/Defensive Mid but is now a striker.

His goals suggest he's got a powerful shot on him and he's pretty strong. Quite composed too. That's literally all I can tell.

Other reports suggest he's got 'vision', he's a 'good passer' and has 'techinical aptitude'.

Apparently Real Madrid were looking at him too.

so there's some video of him?

Lovely goal.

Even better than one of Torres' best individual goal

Mexico has a good future. Not good enough to win a world cup obviously, but still good.

I'm not saying we don't have a good future (Chicharito <3), but that we really should think of ourselves more than we really are.

"OMG we almost beat the World Champion! See guys we really are one of the best teams in the world!" No idiots, no stop doing that. Fucking Televisa.

Yeah, I agree. Spain only used 3 starters when we had our A team. It was also only a friendly. This was just a glimpse of using the right line up and future and nothing more. It's too bad our B team sucked dick and lost the lead.

That said, I really have to commend Chicharito on what he did today. Not everyone can go solo against Iker Casillas (best goalie in the world, mofos) and score with that frigidness.

So....

Rooney
Berbatov
Owen
Chicharito
Welbeck
Macheda
Diouf ( loaned)
Bebe

Are we trying to build an all striker team or what? I wish we had that kind of depth at midfield.

rooney to madrid or man city next season for 50m :D

I wonder how the Scottish media are reacting to a half-strength Scottish team getting pumped in a meaningless friendly against Sweden. Anyone calling for Levein's head yet?

Big fan of Chicharrito, I hope he does well. Mexico needs another star.

btw, glad we didnt play Mexico in the WC :lol

Yeah, that was some goal. Sadly, I had a job interview that kept me from watching the whole thing.:lol I had both sides(Mexican and Spanish) of my family call me to see if I was watching the game. Glad it it ended 1-1 so I wouldn't have to play favorites.

i can't wait for bayern vs madrid

As long as Canales is in, I BELIEVE.

And I really don't want Ozil in Madrid, we've got enough players in his position already. Would rather them focusing on getting rid of M. Diarra and Drenthe, finding a REAL leftback, and maybe humor Mou with a new forward.

Not that I know of. From what I know, it's between Barca and ManU. Manchester needs midfielders and they keep getting strikers. I believe Ozil will go to Manchester United if they make a bid, but with the signing of Bebe... who knows?

He will probably go to Barca in the end though.

A Mexico with the team we wanted in the World Cup could not win against an untrained and hardly titular Spain in the bloody Azteca. Had this been a match of importance we would have lost by at least two goals. Mexico's only redeeming feature in this match was Chicharito.

Also, I thought you were French? :P

EDIT: Best thing outta the Mexico vs. Spain duel:

We didn't win because we took out our best players. I think we would lose 1-0 if it was the team we wanted vs Spain's A team.

Also, who is that?? Name plz.

i am very surprised mourinho hasn't addressed the LB postion, all summer he wanted to get maicon even though ramos showed in wc in can play the rb positino just fine

marcelo is good going forward but sucks @ defending

arbeloa can play lb but he ain't word class

david luiz or Fábio Coentrão would be nice ...

Coentrao is certainly an option, but who knows what his price is. Luiz is unlikely since he's mainly a central defender, and we already got Carvalho for that position recently.

Marcelo can fuck off. Arbeloa is pretty good, but he's a righty. I'm at a loss for a good, quality LB. Maybe it's time for la cantera to shine.

Swedish media ceirtanly did not view this friendly as meaningless. We're doing a generation shift atm though so it's a bit of "every game counts" for us now. Also, return of Ibra.

And the fact that we were looking really good in this game helps :P

Is Ibrahimovic the new Larsson? As in, retiring, comeback, retiring, comeback...

The Scottish media saw it as meaningless because the Scottish Premier League (as well as the English Premiership) starts on Saturday and having a friendly international match this close to the start of the season meant that none of our good players would risk a pre-season injury for no reward. That and our first two Euro 2012 qualification matches are seen as "easy" by pretty much everyone (Lithuania and Liechtenstein iirc).

His name is Christian Poulsen.

Apparently Roy knows him well, so I'll reserve judgment. I just hope enough of the Masch transfer money is made available for another decent forward, and a leftback.

Nah, he just didnt feel like playing in the really meaningless friendlies in between our failed WC qualification bid and today.

Lithuania home or away? Because i would have a hard time seeing the away game as 3 given points for Sweden. A must win game for sure, but far from guaranteed...

I'm Portuguese and I had never heard of Bebe before... Good luck for him, we sure need a striker on our national team.

Our Euro qualifiers are going to be rough. We've got Spain. Spain. And the Czech Republic of course.

Scotland's games:

3 September 2010 - Lithuania v Scotland
7 September 2010 - Scotland v Liechtenstein
8 October 2010 - Czech Republic v Scotland
12 October 2010 - Scotland v Spain
3 September 2011 - Scotland v Czech Republic
6 September 2011 - Scotland v Lithuania
8 October 2011 - Liechtenstein v Scotland
11 October 2011 - Spain v Scotland

Typical Scotland luck means we'll beat the Czechs twice, draw with the Spanish but lose to Liechtenstein or some shit and fail to qualify because of that loss. Just like in Euro 2008 when we beat France twice, but missed out on qualification because we fucked up against Georgia.

But I dare to dream and think that we can beat Lithuania and Liectenstein twice, win at least once against the Czechs and get a draw in our second game with them and we should be cool as long as they stumble against Spain and Lithuania/Liechtenstein. But there's no way we're going to beat Spain. Maybe we'll draw against them when we play them at Hampden, but I don't see us getting more than 1 point against them in two games.

Sweden should have no difficulty in being second in their group. I say "second" because you've got the Netherlands. ;)

Spain could get through that group with the maximum.

Scotland? I don't expect to see us at a major final for a good ten years.

I really think Scottish football is on the right track – a lot of good players coming through Murray Park– but it'll be a while before we can truly compete again.

I promised myself a while back that the next time Scotland qualify for shit then I'll go and see them play. With me being in Taiwan for the foreseeable future I'm kinda hoping we don't qualify for Euro 2012 and instead qualify for WC 2014. Brazil >>>>>>>>> Poland & Ukraine. :lol

But yeah, since the financial problems in Scottish football ten years ago most SPL clubs have got their youth development in order. Motherwell and Hibs especially have produced some excellent players in the last ten years.

It's a shame that most of our talent is toiling away in the English Championship. Even though the English Championship is one of the best leagues in the world, I feel that most players playing for the Scottish national team are more than capable of playing for big clubs in the English Premier League.

All in all though I wish the media would get off the Scotland team's ass with these shitty self-fufilling prophecies of "we cannae do it, there's too many problems with our leagues etc etc." It's true that the SFA needs a complete overhaul (merge Leagues 1-3 into a singular league and merge all of their different committees, etc) but for the time being let's appreciate the current crop of players we've got. We're more than capable of getting second in our qualification group, so let's all support our team and quit it with the "wee country..." bitching.

Wenger is a joker.

He releases more players from the squad every single year than he buys.

Our squad depth is a fucking joke. We're got 2 central defenders, all our midfielders are injured and so are most of our strikers.

And we still got the fucking clowns Fabianski and Almunia back in goal.

I thought he was going to fix this shit up? 'TRUST ME IN THE TRANSFER MARKET'. FFS.

Liverpool are probably going to fucking smash the shit out of us. :{

Can't wait to get in the Europa League next year :(

Well here's my SPL predictions if anyone cares. Feel free to stop reading after No. 2, most people do.

1. Rangers
2. Celtic
3. Motherwell
4. Inverness Caledonian Thistle
5. Dundee United
6. Hearts
7. Hibernian
8. Kilmarnock
9. St. Johnstone
10. Hamilton
11. Aberdeen
12. St. Mirren

I think that a good player to look out for in Scotland will be Adam Rooney of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. He was the top scorer in the First Division last year (21 goals, 2nd highest scorer had 13) and I think he will carry that momentum over to the SPL. I also think that Ross County will get promoted from the First Division.

And it should be known that ICT are my second favourite team after Rangers. I was on holiday with my parents in Inverness when they were formed and entered the Third Division and I saw them play. I followed their rise through the leagues closely and even have their shirt from season 2006/2007. They were unlucky to get relegated, but their absolutely amazing winning run (19 games in a row) at the end of last season showed you how much their players and manager wanted to be in the SPL again. They're by far the biggest "surprise package" in Scottish football.

Ronaldo 2.0

Believe.

Looking at the videos posted early, i have to disagree. When i saw ronaldo play for the first time, he had successfully managed to rile up Scholes and Neville with his moves, Bebe barely was outplaying his opponents on the pitch. He makes some quality passes and moves but nothing that would make me say, this player will be great.
Now, under Fergie's tutelage i wonder how he will turn out, but at the moment, i'm not really sold on him.
