CNN Headline: "Kerry cool and collected. Liquid cooling in Bush Robot fails, flushed and overheating on stage."

Was only able to see the final 15 minutes after getting home from work. What I witnessed was utter and pure ownage of the highest order.

Kerry will get a good boost from this, but Bush's spinsters are clearly superior to Kerry's campaign. So any boost Kerry get's will certainly be erased within in a week.

EASILY THE BEST PART OF THIS DEBATE:

Is afterwards. The station I work for is using Fox News Radio coverage for this debate and one of the post-debate analysts is Ellis Henican.

For those who don't know, Ellis is the voice of Stormy on Sealab 2021.

So hearing Stormy debate the finer points of the debate without a doubt makes this all worthwhile.

I'd say Kerry got a pretty nice showing out of that debate, not so much for what he said, but for how he said it. When put up against Bush's slow, sad speeking style, Kerry certainly came off as stronger and more optimistic.

I will write in Sonny from the movie 'I, Robot' and he will win in a landslide over Kerry and Bush. :D

VOTE SONNY!

dude, wtf?

we all know he had a bunch of semi-tough words written down and each time he used one he crossed it out

ABCNEWS just aired a post debate poll.

Who won the Debate?

Kerry 45%
Bush 36%
Tied 17%

But the general feeling was that the debate hasn't changed many minds.

I didn't see the beginning, where apparently Bush did well (Kerry was nervous?), but I caught the last hour. And without a doubt, Kerry "won". He was composed, well-spoken, believable, and answered most questions as well as you could hope. Bush was predictable (peace, terror, etc.), irritable, and his answers seemed relatively unorganized. He didn't seem as stupid as people would like to think, but he definitely didn't come across as a capable leader.

Before tonight I would have said that Americans are boned either way, but Kerry made a very good impression.

But that's just me. I have no idea how your standard American registered voter would interpret what they said. After all, the Bush administration was pushing for the finer details for a reason.

On that note, did anyone else see how, when there was a split-screen shot of both Bush and Kerry, Bush's podium was several inches higher than Kerry's to give the illusion that he wasn't a shorter person? And that the cameras were moving up and down in conjunction with their body movement (ie, if Bush was leaning forward, you could see the podium moving up)? Hilarious stuff.

This is all well and good. Being a Kerry supporter, I am glad that he is crushing Bush in the reactions, but you have to wait for the spin in the next couple days (which I hope tips it even more against Bush)

No, that's not true. The podiums were the same height, the cameras were simply set so as to have each candidates' head at the very top. Because of that, in relation to the images, yes, Bush's podium appeared higher.

Anyone with any common sense knows Kerry won this one.

Definitely...but the thing is, will the debates swing the major public opinion that much? I mean, look at the Fox poll...everyone who was voting Bush is still gonna vote Bush. And that still may be enough for him to win, despite what the majority here at GAF leads us to think.

FOX News is Bush's core. He could use children to invade Iran and they'd be fucking like rabbits to contribute.

But it seems like there's ~10% that could potentially shift in Kerry's direction, if a lot of things go his way before the election.

To be honest, I think Bush will still be ahead in the polls come Monday morning.

Seems pretty unanimous. Kerry wins round 1 and decisively so.

The big question is whether this will result in any kind of change at all in the polls. I somehow doubt that it will have any serious effect at all.

Humble opinion from a viewer in Costa Rica:

Bush =OWNED

Kerry really impressed me and Bush came off as dumb as I expected him to be. It's an easy decision as far as I see, but I don't live in the US. :p

Remember though....the Bush people viewed having the security debate first as a victory and then they lose the debate

Kerry should win the next two just as easily

agreed =/

i don't know about this debate not effecting the polls. word of mouth is HUGE, and the word is that kerry looked presidential while bush was stumbling around saying, "I KNOW OSAMA BIN LADEN ATTACKED US!!"

I made it a point to get home from work in time to watch the debate. Wow, just...wow. There were seriously multiple times that I laughed out loud at Bush's statements. When he managed to string together a whole sentence without stammering, pausing, or getting lost, he had a smile on his face like a monkey who figured out how to make cave paintings out of his own turds.

Although he wasn't perfect, Kerry won that debate CONVINCINGLY. I thought he missed several opportunities to REALLY hammer Bush for some of the stuff he said, but I think he was trying to keep from being perceived as too angry or negative. Unfortunately, the number of people in this country who a) are TRULY undecided at this point and b) took the time to watch is probably pretty small. Hopefully it made a difference.

I think Bush is right on the bilatteral talks. I think the 6 party talks make more sense and again Bush STILL MISSES A GREAT REBUTTAL!

You want to do things with others yet you want bilatteral talks!

Earth to Rumsfeld supporter: CHINA WANTS US TO TALK TO N. KOREA WITH BILATERRAL TALKS!

http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_14-3-2003_pg7_11

Talking to N. Korea bilaterrally will not crumble multi-nation dialogue as Bush says it will.

Bush OWNED!! Listening to what N. Korea has to say...one on one is not a failure...it's an opportunity for dialogue in hopes of ending their nuclear proliferation.

Bush, in the debate, seems to think that giving into N. Korea on anything is weakness...and he(and everyone who believes him) is wrong. Much can be gained from multi and bilateral talks.

Bush is too stupid to realize this and says it will weaken the situation...while China says it will strengthen the situation. Bush himself says China knows N. Korea better than the US does.

Give them their bilateral talks. Bush is being a little fucking stubborn kid again. If we can't play by my rules I'm going home. Grow up.

I think Kerry had the upper hand in this debate, but it was carried out in such a way that it doesn't allow for much... how should I say it in GAF terms... ownage. Generally speaking, Kerry came off as being much more capabile of debating, and his points seemed much more valid. More often than not, Bush looked clueless for brief moments of time and came off as sounding like a broken record for half of the debate.

I look forward to the vice presidential debate and the remaining presidential debates. Hopefully Kerry will retain his power and use it even more effectively next time, potentially getting people to make up their mind and accept Kerry/go back to liking Kerry. He's lost a lot of respect.

And what's that Little Green Football site all about? It's bull. Conservatives using the "Kerry is so full of it, look at this quote from the mid-90's, it proves that he is dishonest" is getting really, really old. It's like holding a gun to your enemy with no bullets in it. More of the same. 1996 was a different time.

For those of you that missed it: CNN is playing it again at 1:30AM EST I believe...

It's kind of refreshing, in a way, to see so many polar perspectives. But... my God. Brain-washed. The lot of them. Call me dismissive. Whatever. Some [most?] of those comments are just MIND-NUMBING. I need to go take a fucking shower.

For the record, hardcore liberals CAN be just as bad. But I never see them congregate quite like that. *shudders*

Clearly you have never been to the Democratic Underground Forums. Reasonable people of all political stripes will see some "huh" in that place.

I like how they reference to Kerry as "European-thinking" and avoiding all the major issues he discussed. From the north Korean debate, they somehow think that Kerry was blaming Bush for simply taking the cameras down. I thought it was pretty clear that he mentioned how North Korea developed nuclear weaponry under Bush's watch. How they can consistently allow themselves to perpetuate a cloud of ignorance really amazes me. Then again, it's not surprising when you feel more comfortable justifying your beliefs even if it is in the face of delusion.
