Finally got Phantom Dust.=3
Congratulations! The best game on the original X-Box.
Finally got Phantom Dust.=3
Man really wish I owned Conker Live. Now that and Bad Fur Day sell for a lot of money. How is Ghoulies? I love Rare but heard bad things about that game.
New or used, and where?Conker isn't that expensive compared to like nes or snes stuff. The n64 version is around $60 and the Xbox version is half that.

not bad for an awesome game or when anything coming out now costs $60 new. They'll also hold their value at least.
Ghoulies is a simple game with little to no challenge to its combat, which is all controlled with one stick. that being said, i like its visuals and the music isnt that bad either. it can be found for super cheap now anyway. has a fair share of unlockables and is a fun little adventure all the way through
Ahhhh, now I get it. I just encountered this today with Quantum Redshift. At last, we can now run Panzer and Valkyrie in 480p on 1.6 Xboxes with the shitty Xcalibur encoder. I posted a writeup on my blog but it's easy enough to describe here. Rip the games to your HDD, replace the original .XBE with a new patched one (as well as a companion .XBE), and boom. Done. PAL and NTSC.

I left my original Xbox back home and took this newer unit with me only to run into this issue.
What I've found is that 480i looks rather poor on the Xbox when output through a scaler (using an XRGB here). I believe it's the flicker filter or something designed to improve the appearance on interlaced displays. The PS2 is very flickery on a normal CRT but when run through a nice upscaler it appears much sharper in 480i than the Xbox does.
So, Godzilla games: Destroy all Monsters melee or Save the Earth?
Man, what is up with the owners of xbox games.... every game that I bought used comes heavily scratched and with damage in the box (despide the listing describing them as in great shape). I have to keep buying only sealed games and paying a premium for that or buy multiple copies of the same game to assemble a decent set.

By the way got Sneakers, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Amped, Spikeout, Curse: Eye of Isis, Blinx 2 in the last weeks.
This is so true, heck I experienced it with some games.=OI have also noticed that Xbox owners really didn't take care of their shit. So many used Xbox games are just in absolute terrible condition. It's really quite striking.
Then you go take a look at the Gamecube games for sale and most of them are in infinitely better condition. Disappointing.
the worst is when the condition is fine, but it gets fucked up in shipping because the seller is an ass who cannot package for shit
Stupid question but is there any way that I can do this with a non-modded Xbox (modchip installed)? The 480i output on the OG PAL Xbox makes games borderline unplayable for me. It's like one giant vaseline smear. By comparison, the PS2 looks great running via component.
And now I know what I'm doing this weekend. I owe you a beer. Thanks for taking the time to put that down. PGR2 in 480p here I come.
Some people have modded it, apparently its really risky though.I went back to my lovely PAL xbox this weekend and re-softmodded it. Now I have it running as an NTSC console with XBMC4XBOX 3.3 @ 720p with 480p gaming enabled. Outrun 2006 and Street Fighter III at 480p is sooooo goooooooodddd...
I just wish this thing had 128mb RAM.. Not being able to watch HD content on it is sad..
If you cant find an xbox action replay an adapter cable for the xbox controller should expose the memory card slot as a usb device allowing you to use the action replay software to transfer things over.
Man I really should get Stubbs the Zombie, was interested back in the day, then forgot about it, now I should hunt it in the future.Been picking up a bunch of OG Xbox games at work. I'm still itching to try out Steel Battalion--I just need to go home and get my console. The controller is taking up so much space!
Fun fact, both that Barbie game and San Andreas used a similar streaming tech. It's the reason why both games became BC on the 360 at the same time.I don't know if I can trust somebody who buys both Steel Battallion AND a Barbie game.
Hey guys, just got my Xbox and JSRF in the mail! A quick question, though.
It works perfectly, but when I try to play JSRF in 480p, the picture is screwed up. I can't play unless I turn off all HD options, which is really disappointing. I have component cables and they got decent reviews on Amazon, but could they be the problem? Or is it my TV?
Here is my TV:

Here is the cable I bought:

Oh, and another thing! When I was hooking everything up, it felt like neither the component cable nor the power cable were really "snug" in the Xbox, but I didn't want to force it, you know? Is this how it's supposed to feel? Sorry for all the questions, I just really need some help!
EDIT: Just read that 1.6 Xboxes scramble the 480p signal in JSRF, Panzer Dragoon, and GunValkyrie. I guess I have a 1.6 lol. I did, however, read that the JSRF/Sega GT combo disc will work because of a .ini file on the disc that fixes the issue. I hope this information is correct.
You can also softmod it and force proper 480p.
Do you mean that it's clearly still sending an interlaced signal, or that you simply don't notice the difference?I literally don't see a difference.

If you're using a modern flat panel with decent deinterlacing capabilities, the differences might be of the "subtle" sort.
Does your TV allow you to view the type of signal that's being received?
Interesting. That's not really what I meant, but it could indicate that a different signal type is reaching your TV (and being processed differently, etc).the only thing I've noticed that is any different is that the black is blacker during the graffiti warning. I don't know if that's what you mean by "subtle" difference.
