Overwatch |OT2| A New Low in Unlocking and Microtransaction Systems

Nvidia ShadowPlay hasn't been working with Overwatch for some reason. Is anyone else having this problem and have you been able to fix it?

A workaround is to record the desktop but it's not ideal since I alt-tab out of the game a lot.

Man I misjudged Zarya. She's incredibly skillful, was impressed by a person on the team and decided to give her a try, absolutely destroys in koth maps. I love that im 50 levels in and people still shoot at you with the shield on. Shame how garbage her skins are.

I can't get the feel for her at all. I haven't tried a ton, but when I do, I'm just bad with her.

Supposedly, it's all about timing your shields and playing her as an off-tank. I suck at both.

That feel when you draw Tracer, McCree, S76 and Hanzo away from objective and think to yourself that you bought enough time for your team to cap the objective 2v5. Nope, team died to Lucio and Roadhog.

So, so, so many times this has happened. Another fun feel is when you backdoor the objective and almost all of the enemy team pulls off of the chokepoint they've blocked your team in just to come kill you. And then your team doesn't push up past the chokepoint.

I love Mercy but I never play her solo. At least with Zen or Lucio I can defend myself or stall for my blind and deaf teammates to do something about the 155468934 flankers, tanks and snipers that will murder you playing Mercy.

She's super fun with a teammate who can play though.

That made me laugh more than it should have. Yeah, I shouldn't try her out solo and wait for friends instead.

Had a really good Zarya in solo play yesterday. She used her ult right and I kept her alive on Lucio for a very long time while she shielded me with good timing, but... our teammates had shit for DPS. They just couldn't kill the enemy team even with Zarya's ult on them and they only had a Sym. I ended up switching to Pharah and got some damage in, but it wasn't enough to get them off the capture points in the Tower map.

Someone at Blizzard has goth or punk fetish because Tracer, Widow and Zarya have those skins as Legendaries. I find them super boring, tbh. Wish they had more skins based on movies or other video game characters.

Also, I'm disappointed they don't have unique skins for people who own other Blizzard games.

I never play other Blizzard games, so I'm very glad this isn't a thing.

Attack vs Defense poll: http://www.strawpoll.me/10363643/r

I feel it's much easier to win on defense unless you're in a full team, randoms vs randoms will always favour the defending team IMO as it's infinitely easier to hunker down than it is to coordinate an attack. This is true for small stacks as well I'd say.

Personally I enjoying defending far more, if only to avoid the long run back > death > long run back cycle. I personally think some maps need their attack spawn points moved closer to the final objective.

I think people tend to over-value the competitive scene when talking tier lists. I'm not sure Torbjorn will ever be good in a competitive match because even a modicum of coordination makes his turret useless and without it he's essentially half a hero. That said, he can be really good in pub games and gets PotG petty often to boot.

Mei is the same way. I think she's the least used hero in competitive matches, and judging by her kit and where the meta is I feel it'll be awhile before she's used at all if ever. But she's a nightmare to deal with in pubs, so she's not weak by any stretch.

Really the balance in this game I feel is pretty good. McCree is the only real problem I see and I think either a cooldown on FTH or no reload on roll will do alot for his balance.

Yeah, the "Tier list" of this game is really different when talking about competitive or Pubs.

Bastion is not even my main and I have a 80% win rate with him 15% more than my most played character. He is THAT good in Quick Play despite being Low Tier in Tournaments.

Yeah. I don't even like her color swaps. Very disappointing, because along with Winston she's my favorite tank.

I love using her Arctic/Siberian Front Legendary skin, both of which I was lucky to obtain after a couple of matches, & I always use them on the Volskaya Industries map. But I agree, her alt. colours suck, & I wish I could create my own to compensate.

He's kind of a joke character for me that I bust out when I've been drinking (and want to put a turret on the elevator on Hollywood), but I also have a 4.26 E/D with him, so maybe I should start taking him seriously...

His rivet gun is really powerful, and if I hear "molten core" in game, I just nope out for a while. Not even gonna bother.

People really underestimate Torb. His turret is annoying, sure, but just him running around is kind of nuts. His gun's primary does good-ish damage with no range drop off, and his alt fire packs a pretty good shotgunny punch. Then you have the idea that he can keep giving himself 75 armor with a push of a button(up to 4 times if you stock 200 metal you greedy torb you), and THEN can get tank-quality health and up the dps of both him and his turret with his ult that lasts like 12 seconds, and yeah...

edit: pictures too big.

As i said previously, Im very successful with D.Va, and Im pretty much in the top 1% of for every category with her. She is very good

I'm also quite succesful with d.va. Got my 20 kill streak with her.

However, I can't see the percentages on masteroverwatch. Don't know why, just don't show up.

Breaking through a good defense and trashing the other team's shit is one of the most satisfying things in the game though.

think ive reached the point in the game's life where its basically 2 or 3 losses for every win, literal 1 step forward 2 steps back, even with groups. Oh well

More skins are something that are going to keep coming for sure a way of entice people to keep giving them money after the game has been bought.
I expect short-time available exclusive, seasonal exclusives and in general more skins for all characters in general.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Who wants to trade for one of my skins I unboxed?

Damn how can you get so lucky and so unlucky at the same time?

Managed to get 8 legendary skins so far (6 dropped, 2 purchased) without any dupes or hero overlaps so far.

Gotta say that Tracer is an awesome character. She's fun and many enemy players don't notice her attacking them until it's too late. I think I'll try to play her way more. Fun to screw around and mess with the other team.

She's great because it's like that annoying fly that keeps buzzing around without making a lot of damage but the only thing you can think of is that fly. So you forget the objetive and go 1vs1 with tracer which 80% of the time ends up badly.

However if I'm Lucio against a Tracer, bye bye little fly. Everytime she blinks I blast and your momentum is gone and dusted.

Jeez, I'm dominating with Junkrat today. Sure didn't expect him to be the character I get good at.

He's one the best characters on defense at escort maps. Just keep firing against the back of the payload, put your trap and explosives where the payload is going to pass and it's free kills. However if the attack team is smart they can attack you with a tracer. You don't have any weapons to fight against a tracer on close combat besides a lucky explosive/trap.

Then it wouldn't matter if you had the skins based on those games.

It would matter to me that there would be content I can't access because I didn't have the foresight to play those games.

Also, I would still want the skins if they're actually good regardless of whether or not I care about what they're referencing.

How the hell did I get 850 gold already? I remember using up all my money and agmfter some games and level ups, i got plenty of gold again for dem intros

There will be more exclusives most likely in the future. Besides, they could always sell them for gold but people who own the other games would get them unlocked from the start. They don't need to lock it away from the general masses.

Blizzard always did custom stuff like that for people who own other games like portraits and accessories in games like Diablo and WoW pets. If you don't get the skins, that's not unusual.

70 percent of quick play games no one wants to actually get on the fucking point except me and one other person while the other 4 just dick around

meanwhile the entire team is defending the point, obviously

keep your current video card and save up for the new video card. Don't have to buy the 1070 on day one. not like it will be a limited edition with 100 or 1000 only made.

I don't need 2 cards, so I'm going need to sell my current one at some point. I'd rather sell it now and get the most money out of it rather than wait until it drops significantly in value.

Also, I don't have a lot of disposable income to throw around, so if I waited until I could save the money for it, it would be almost a whole year.

I would do some dirty and desperate things to get a Lich King & Frostmourne skin for Reinhardt, complete with enhanced audio lines etc. Damn.

Sadly no :(

On PC what do you guys recommend to record?

I don't really use PC but can't you run it through the Xbox App and use the built in recorder?

Okay, well I'd be fine with it as long as it were still unlockable otherwise, but TF2 does the completely time/game-exclusive hat/weapon thing and you can't unlock those any other way, so some of them are actually impossible to get now and I hate that.

I still rock that Genuine Wilson Weave and Ham Shank though.

True, but that's because you know you're at a disadvantage, or at least that's how I feel when I win, I really feel like I deserved it, I don't get the same feeling on defense.

Yea, we don't need that horrible TF2 exclusive hat stuff in this game. *shudders*

I feel like defending is easier, but since you only really need one good push on a lot of maps to win, attackers still have a good chance.

The defenders have an advantage, but defending for so long without losing a single fight can be tough. Payload is harder for attackers I think though than control points, that last couple meters can be brutally rough because of how far the payload can roll back I'm between pushes.

Gotta love playing Reinhardt on Hollywood Attack with a team of 5 flanking heroes. (We actually won, I assume because the other team was in the mood for charity.)

I could not buy a PoG last night or votes when I got cards finally.
Racking up huge kill counts, clutch kills, objective time and objective kill counts, streaks, multi kills....lol.
I did get two levels and got Wolf Genji out of one of the boxes though so I guess that counts for something.

I feel it's much easier to win on defense because it doesn't require any where near as much coordination. Mistakes resulting from individual deaths are forgiven as you simply respawn back right next to the point. It tends to come down to needing to wipe the entire team with an ult or combination of ults. Unless you kill the defensive team in perfect sync, you don't get the opportunity to push and therefore you don't win.

In pubs, it's easy to defend because the relative difficult for the attacking team is much higher, no coordination with allies is even required as everyone naturally focuses on area denial down tyically a singular choke point. Even if you lose your fight your whole team can respawn one or two times and still win out.

Joined up with some pals and got my trophy on PS4 for 100 wins in quick/competitive play!

I really, really enjoy playing this game. Even solo with randos. Yes, I experience the same lame teams as everyone else and often end up healing and overabundance of damage dealers but luckily one of my favorite characters in Lucio, so I guess I don't mind TOO much. I sadly don't earn play of the game very often but I do get put up for nominations at the end quite frequently. Sure, it's not the most difficult thing to accomplish but it does feel like I'm constantly contributing at the very least.

I've been mainly playing vs. AI games to learn the heroes and maps. I'm lvl 8 now and just started to play the quick games with randoms. I've won 5 out of the 6 games I've played. Guess I'm really lucky with my teams. When will the keep-losing stage start?
