Many of the maps choke points' are interiors which means you have no choice but to get close to Mei.

She's just un-fun to fight and she really does not need the healing power. They should either make the healing less powerful or make the ice block shorter.

Too many people hang around when she ice blocks. I'm teaching myself to run off when she does as I'd rather no death than an unlikely kill.

She's fine. I'd only give us a reward for shooting at her ice block. Shorter time, not fully healed or something like that.

In terms of nerfs I feel like Torbjorn's turrets need less range before they go nuts. Even when I try to deal with them from a distance I'm getting shot at. I find them 10,000 times worse than Bastion. (I play on console so that might matter)

I've had really good luck with randoms at the start of match picking a well balanced team, the issue is it's rare for people to switch to response to the enemy team or tough team fights.

Was thinking that Blizzard could create tool tips to be displayed to encourage people to mix things up. If you get killed by a turret 2 or 3 times if it just said, "Snipers and Genji crap all over Bastion" maybe it would push people to switch.

And then you end up with Genji's not even aiming E at Bastion or snipers that get mowed down before they can kill.

Can you get banned for excessive trash talking, something new every 5-10 seconds per match?

definitely feel it helps getting into opponents heads.

I report it at least, it's not needed.

Had a lot of fun playing with Pharah this weekend, but I don't have the feeling shooting from above yet. My rockets go all over the map when I try.

From ground I shoot solid.

Practice will help with this for sure. I still whiff a lot from the air, but splash damage can often be the difference between escape and death.

It doesn't actually heal her for that much. It's better used for getting out of trouble.

And for capturing/holding the point while invulnerable. Hee hee.

I love advice that can be boiled down to, "Just make perfect shots all the time in the heat of battle, it's easy!"

DPS spreadsheets don't mean a great deal once you're playing.

Random thing: anyone else starting to get whispers/private messages from randoms in Overwatch? I had three last night, and two of them appeared to be in Japanese. I'm not sure if they're spambots or not. Who are these people and how are they allowed to message me?

Tbh, I just use Mei when I see a Torb with a turret up or a Bastion parked when we are attacking. The walls really throw them off too much and I feel that people around here aren't doing that all that much due to "lolmei isn't great in competitive/high skill" or something. At least what some said about her some pages back.

I used to use Pharah against them, but now I only use her when I have good support. Until then, I just get on Mei against Torb/Bastion and piss off the enemy team faster that some switch to Mei because of it.
"MOLTEN COOOOOORE" > "Nah, have a wall in front of the turret and I'll freeze your beard for you until you calm down."

I'm so fucking salty right now. I just had to escort the payload against 6 TORBORNS!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!

I went against a premade team of 6 Mei's that was attacking. Now that was a nightmare to deal with. Too many walls, self-heals, ult freezes, ranged attacks, and them madly charging forward.

Make the ice block pushable so we can slide her to the oblivion she deserves.

Pretty sure you can whisper anyone just by right clicking their name on the chat. Not sure if you can block it on settings or something.

I should preface this with I'm a shit sniper. (Especially on console)

Zenyatta is surprisingly good at taking out turrets also but you have to be on your toes about it. Put a discord orb on one and then weave in and out of cover while firing at it and they will go down quickly. You just have to be careful not to stay in the open for more than a second or so because you will get shredded if you do.

Have to laugh at the people taking it so seriously and griefing then team when they lose, they can never spell properly. I don't play a lot of these types of games but I'm guessing its always the same

Man, defensive Tracer is a wonderful thing. My team were defending on Hollywood and at one point I was tying up a Winston, McCree and Mercy in a ridiculous firefight for like two minutes. All while my team could hang out on the objective and just chill, have cocktails, I dunno.

A decent Tracer who knows their role is pretty bad for the enemy team, not really sure why their Winston was wasting that much time on you though. I usually ignore Tracer when I'm Winston and jump leap over the BS games when their is some objectives to go ape**** on.

I had a Mercy complaining to us the whole match that Tracer was on him. I fought her with my Tracer couple of times, and I could scare her away but my team wasn't doing good enough for me to only be a Tracer gaurd dog for the Mercy. Even if I killed her she would be back doing the same thing again in a few seconds.

Against my better judgement, I bought 22 boxes yesterday. Certainly not the same as buying HS packs since it's all cosmetic, but w/e. I won't do it again. But got some decent skins:

Ifreet Zenyatta
Stonehardt Reinhardt
Siberian Zarya
and 600 coins, taking me to 1k; which I bought Sigrun Mercy with.

I think I'm happy.

Got a couple rare skins and one epic Highlight intro too but eh. There needs to be a bit more of a draw to these loot boxes I think. The skins are really all that's worth it in there

There was a guy on voice chat the other night calling everyone mongloids before quitting (and getting stuck with a leaver's penalty). You know it's serious when dudes bring out their weird, outdated racial slurs.

Just got the game! Really excited.

Is Mercy a good support character to start with? Love her design.

Shew's not terrible to start with, but I'm not exactly sure why she's a one-star and Lucio is a two-star. She requires much more situational awareness, doesn't have a self-heal, and is much more squishy than Lucio is, He's the much easier character to start with.

This game is getting a lot of hate in places online. People really dislike that aim is not the number one skill needed to be good at this game.

She passively self heals.

I do prefer Lucio though. He can be up front, he can assist in taking down enemies, he can speed people from spawn into the action, and can heal his whole team if they're within his line of sight.

Mercy is more about resurrection than anything else for me, but I'm still figuring her out. I love the combo of Mercy and Lucio though, and if there's a Mercy I'll pick Lucio and help cover her.

It's fine, you can usually tell how successful a game is by the amount of hate it gets and the quantity of "Is it just me or..." hot takes people are spewing out.

I wouldn't go so far as to call McCree OP but he could use a little tweaking.

I like the suggestion of removing the reload from the roll but giving it more range so it can be more of an escape tool.

It would still allow him to still wreck flankers but the flashbang + fan, roll + fan lets him melt tanks a little too easily imo.

I don't really get those star ratings either, wether a char is hard or easy to play is almost always depending on how one's playstyle is and how fast you "get" the skills.

For example, i have zero problems with Zenyatta, even when i first played him. Yet, i suck with Reaper *somehow*. ^^

There's a lot of people seem to just play it like team deathmatch and run off fighting on their own, I can see why they wouldn't be enjoying it so much

I mentioned this late last night and some may have missed it but when you ult with Torb, MEI CANNOT FREEZE YOU with anything, not even her own ult.

I'm sure all of those people were Quake pros and not people who rely on low ttk and killing people from behind or counter camp where you put your cursor the same place every game and have a point and click adventure.

I think it's because she does basically one thing. The concept of clicking on an ally and healing them is pretty simple, whereas Lucio has things to consider like range and line of sight that isn't verifiable by "is my healing beam connecting to the ally". You're also attacking with him.

I can't believe it's only been a week. It feels like this game has been out a month.

I am really looking forward to ranked being reintroduced though. Quick play is fun and all, but when ranked was available, that is what I went to for the majority of the time I played. Whatever form the bring it back in, I am pretty sure I am going to like it. I even didn't have many problems solo queuing, but this time I'll have friends.
