It's ironic how Winston appears as a very intelligent Gorilla but his ultimate triggers his primal instincts making him go berserk.

I tried out Torbjorn as someone who is an Engineer fan in TF2, I like that we don't have to babysit the turret once we deploy and upgrade. Massacred the enemy team in my first try and strangely, I tend to be my best the first time I try a new hero but I only seem to get worse over every attempt.

One of the reasons I'm playing as Genji is to hear him scream "RYUJIN NO KEN WO KURAE" and of course give Bastion a taste of his own medicine.

Mei single handheldy ruined this weeks arcade. One Mei is a pain with Ice Wall on no cool down. Two and it's a nightmare. A nightmare of unfun.

Roadhog is invincible whenever I've played him in this brawl and Mcree is pretty broken as well in that brawl haha.

Mei has gotten the majority of my play time. In all that time i'm fairly certain that i am 0 for 203 against McCree. Can anyone name a harder counter than a McCree on a Mei? I cannot. Gengi on a Bastion comes to mind, but its not a sure thing.

Anyone needing to get within range of McCree's flashbang/fth to deal with him is as good as dead. Not every hero can counter every other hero; I don't see any way Mei can counter him successfully.

Mei is a pretty terrible counter to McCree, considering he can flash-fan her dead. Anyone who needs to get close to McCree to kill him is basically dead.

A better counter would be Pharah, who can stay out of his fan fire range. She's still in his single-fire range, but a lot of McCree players don't realize "hey, this is actually a pretty good single-fire gun", so you can just juggle him around with your rockets and piss him off.

That is what i meant. McCree kills me every single time. I just laugh about it now. Flashbang, fan, dead. No time to react. Still love Mei. Any other hero i will just walk up to and do my thing. I run in fear of McCree though!

It feels like some maps are weighted heavier than others, I barely see some maps but always see Anubis, which is just an awful map, same with Nurambi(?). Those two always show up a disproportionate amount of times.

I know all that, I'm just wondering why people are getting annoyed at Mei for the one thing she's not even the best at.

She's a hero meant to control the area and movement through that area. It's a perfectly good design to have in a game where movement plays an important part. Not everything has to go everyone's way to be considered good design.

I think a lot of annoyance comes from the fact that she prevents people from doing thing without outright killing them.

Like have an ult and want to approach enemy? Ice wall.
Engage Mei and then she heals with cryo freeze followed by an ice wall. Even when she is able to kill someone it actually takes some time to kill and in most cases it's via a shot to the head while they can't move and as such think it requires no skill.

Imo none of that matters as that's her job and she isn't particularly the best at it either, I find the complaints about her being anti fun to be nonsense. Anything that prevents you from doing what you want and prevents you from eliminating enemies or winning games is going to be anti fun.

Mei is, what's known in the biz as, "anti-fun"

I wish Blizzard would separate the gametypes out into their own playlists. I really don't like Payload--I just want to play Control and not bother wth the other shit.

Okay, sorry, I completely misread you. I thought you said "Can anyone name a better counter for McCree than a Mei?"

My apologies. I'm gonna go to bed.

Played a game in which six Torbjorn's were defending on Hollywood. Blizzard, God damn it, create a draft system or limit heroes to one per team.
I have to say I agree. maybe not one per team, but two possibly? all these turrets are really annoying (I'm part of the problem sometimes, nevertheless..)

I feel like going all d.va is actually a pretty good counter for that.

Maybe so but try coordinating that with a team of randoms. Even still, the laser accuracy, crazy range, generous field of motion and immediate lock the turrets see leaves little room for error or fun.

Just salty I guess.

Probably the easiest ultimate to stack kills. It doesn't put you in danger it's fast it huge blast and hard to disable. It's also instantaneous unless d.va, McCree or Reaper's ultimate

Junkrat ult only has 100 hp, even a reinhardt fireball takes it out. It's actually requires your opponents to be distracted to get a big impact tbh. That or using tricks to get in close, like running into a wall for a second or two will quiet the loud ass engine and maybe even have them drop their guard a moment.

For the next update I'd like the PotG to not always go to the same 'press Q' plays (i.e. Roadhog).

I did get PotG with Symmetra yesterday. It was for a solo triple kill, rather for anything support based. I'm not sure how you'd get PotG for the teleporter...I've read you need 20 uses but that's what, four teleporters in a single game getting max use? That'd be hard. Still, I'm enjoying playing as her for the challenge and map discipline.

Edit: And she is another hard counter to Reinhardt's shield.

If there is anything to be salty over in this game its his turrets. Why? Because they don't miss. No matter what you do that turret is not going to miss a single shot. Getting shot and you are Pharah? Shoot up into the air to get the advan.....nope. its a turret. It hasn't missed once while you shot into the sky and you are dead.

Everything else in the game is a skill shot of sorts. Shots from the play, placing ults, etc...turrets that jave 100% accuracy and seemingly infinite range do not belong.

I ran into the same thing on Numbani, it was with my GAF friends though so we coordinated a little and managed to pull through in the end somehow.

How do I put this...I commonly mishit certain keys and it feels like there's chat commands I'm unaware of.

As for sensitivity, I have it at 45(?) I believe, because the default was at 15 and it felt extremely stiff/slow for me.

Well you just need to get used to WASD, space, shift, E and Q.Everything else is secondary.

Also the sensitivity depends on what mouse you are using, and what your windows sensitivity is etc etc. I keep my mouse at 6500DPI, windows mouse sensitivity at 75% which means my ingame sensitivity ranges from 16-22 depending on players (keep the lower one for fine aim players like McCree and Widow). You just have to figure out what feels best to you.

Also you should probably turn off mouse acceleration from windows mouse settings if you haven't already.

Yeah, and almost no delay in the lock on. You flash a pixel when a turret isn't already busy pelting someone else and it's gonna start firing.

Introducing even a slight delay would help and let's give it a reduced vertical tracking.

Bastion at least needs to be aimed, though a reduction in speed to the rotation of his turret, a cooldown on repair or a smaller clip would do wonders for balance.

Yep, having managed to play properly for the first time yesterday turrets are the only thing I picked out as being OP. They need to nerf it so it rotates 45 degrees or so, not the current 360 line of sight bullshit

They should be about lane not area denial

I don't remember this ever happening in beta but it happens all the time at launch

when I pull someone with Roadhog's hook they ALWAYS clip through me or to the side. Always. Even on a straight shot.

agree. I find the game pretty well balanced. It's really just those damn turrets.

That is something that started happening after they made hook pull smaller characters closer, in cbt. It doesn't happen all the time. But I remember in open beta testing it happened like 5 times in a row so I stopped playing roadhog. I may have seen it once or twice since launch, but I don't play roadhog that much. I think it has to do with jump moving while hooking but I'm no certain. Might be lag related.

All those talk about Mei being anti fun in a game where you can get oneshot from a random arrow not even aimed at you, or where reinhardt + bastion combo is a thing. :'(

Using Reinhardt's rushing attack to smash someone into a wall for an elimination is probably one of the most satisfying things in the game for me.
Use his shield to safely advance everyone to the objective, throw out his projectile to kill an unsuspecting victim out of hammer's reach, then rush a D.Va Ult bomb out of the area saving most of your team. I love playing Reinhardt, he makes me feel like a goddamn hero so often.

I think they just need less range.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Team trying to all roadhog against all soldier without even knowing how to play roadhog.

Just had the quickest Anubis attack ever. Went to first point, wiped the enemy team, took it. Went to second point, wiped the enemy team, took it. That was barely 2 minutes.

Change to a sniper, kill turrets. Change to winston or dva, kill turrets. Change to junkrat, kill turrets. I could go on but its getting old now.

Have to agree, those turrets are a disease ... lost a Gibraltar payload game yesterday due to 2 turrets. My team really managed the whole match, moving they payload through all points without any real hassle, then suddenly, just before the final point the enemy team just entrenched themselves behind the turrets.

Well, jokes on my team for not being able to break through somehow, but still, the enemies did the most lame thing ever, i was really mad after that match.

Just play Lucio or Mercy and your whole team will vote for you every time. It happens literally every single time I play Mercy and I'm not even good with her.

I'm glad this is a think Overwatch players actually recognise though. Being healers in other games can be a thankless task at times. In this game. people go out of their way to thank you and (Zenyatta at least) feels like you are contributing massively towards other players kills. Its fantastically rewarding!

As someone who plays D.VA the most..I usually put on my defence matrix, boost to them and shoot them down. Sometimes I die...but as long as the stupid turret is down, my team can push.

The healer might not have actually contributed much though. Everyone always just votes for them because it's pretty much the only player on their team they're forced to notice.

I'm actually also guilty of this.

How do people do these commands in the chat: "Player X wants to move the payload. Player X wants to defend." ?

I cant figure out the command, they dont show up on the command wheel (c)

Biggest annoyance atm is people not escorting the payload...

I can't understand why so many people seem to just ignore the fact that your big ass friend in shiny armor is walking near the payload, moving it forward and he has a huge shield up which you can use to stand behind and kill the enemy team who is trying to stop the payload moving any further....

Nah, they just rather run around the map chasing a Tracer or so...
