In pubs where teamwork is close to non-existent maybe, but in higher level play where you have a tool that can turn 6v6 situations into 6v3 for 5 seconds? It's very powerful. I can do that in pubs too, it's just that there's more inconsistency if the team can take advantage of it.

Her primary fire is bad. It doesn't kill anything, & it has no range. The only single good thing I feel like I can say about it, is that Mei has so much ammo that she can stay on targets easily. Her M1 should slow both movement and attack speed and maybe do more damage (I.E. frost bite). I have tons of hours as Mei and I rarely freeze people completely anymore. It's just not worth the risk.

Every character in the game can just stay out of her range. In a game where every offense has some capability to manipulate their movement, her limited range becomes even worse. Ice block has it's uses, most people whine about how it can contest, but so many things in this game (such as reaper's wraith form or D.Va's ult) can contest it for longer and easier. I feel like half of the time it gets a Mei killed when it's used like how it should be. Ice wall is actually pretty good but it has the problem of potentially messing with your own team and the fall bug. Her ult is incredibly bad compared to most everyone else, as it's slow & doesn't do anything. She also has trouble building it in the first place.

The biggest reason for not practicing her, is that you might as well practice other characters who do what she can, but better. Why would I take a Mei to deal with a D.Va, when I can bring a Zarya who will do the job and is more beneficial to my team?

Just sneaked in to the 70s solo queueing with Lucio. Not sure if I want to retire for the season in the 70s or try to get top 500.

YAAASSSSSSSSSS, TIERS ARE BACK, EAT IT BETA COMP WHINERS.

I'm really feeling the changes for S2, though I wished Jeff spoke about upping RQ penalties but alas.

Ranks aren't going to reset entirely. You'll have to do placements, but you'll still be matched around your actual MMR. The placements are just there to help calculate your starting point with a bit more leniency. Every other game does this.

Who's ready to be bronze with me?

Aiming for Gold, will most likely start in Bronze unless my bae Mercy gets her much needed buffs. As much as I like Lucio, I still don't have the same level of comfort as I do when I'm Mercy.

Playing Zen disgusts me at the moment.

i thought season 2 would start Thursday, what happens between seasons? Anarchy?

Quick Play gets a helluva lot more competent.

What are we thinking the current rank equivalent will be for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Master, Grand Master?

Congrats. Is this on PC? Which heroes do you typically play?

My Genji play doesn't even qualify as shit, it is something else altogether O_O trying to learn a control scheme that lets me aim and jump at the same time didn't help matters. Glad to be done with that one.

Hello McCree, my old friend.
I found that raising the sensitivity on Genji improved my game on PS4 a lot more than changing the control scheme. I couldn't get used to it, hitting the wrong buttons all the time, but the sensitivity change helped a good bit. Also, make sure you dash before you ult because his ult resets the dash. It's not necessary, but it's added damage.

Anyone knows if saved credits will be usable on future released skins? Or will they be locked like the summer ones?

Honestly I think I am just forever Genjiless. Which I'm fine with. Killed them with McCree short game and POTM. Lol

I would saaaay:

Bronze: 20
Silver: 30
Gold: 40
Diamond: 50
Master: 60
Grand Master: 70+

Then top 500 above that?

Welp, reached rank 50 in comp again for the eighteen-quintillionth time. Gonna retire competitive for this season as 50 is a nice number I bet my luck in a casino is probably better then in this solo queue roulette.

Looking forward to next season, the lack of sudden death is bound to make it infinitely more enjoyable.

I wonder if Top 500 will still be its own thing, or if it will be absorbed into Grand Master. I feel like the more likely thing will be:

Bronze: < 40
Silver: 40-49
Gold: 50-59
Diamond: 60-69
Master: 70+
Grand Master: Top 500.

There's no official word. I assume that seasonal/special event skins, like the olympic stuff, will only be found in boxes (can't be bought) while new skins for new heroes or permanent additions can be bought.

Holy shit I hate Zenyatta. I can't stand his discord orb. What's a good counter for this guy? I've tried sniping him with Widowmaker but I suck at sniping. I've tried blowing him up with Pharah but I feel like an easy target.

Hanzo and Widowmaker can both one-shot headshot him, tracer is great at getting in close and one-clipping him if you can hit some headshots, reaper and roadhog can both one-shot him. He can do good damage, but he is incredibly squishy.

I've found the key to genji on console is to just keep jumping (not a troll post btw)

Given he can regenerate three-quarters of his health, he's less squishy than most heroes in the game. He just doesn't have any evasive abilities.

He's more of an easier target to a Pharah than a Pharah to him.
But anyway, Zarya's barriers remove the discord orb, same with Reaper's wraithform, Tracer's recall and Mei's cryo freeze as well but they're less than ideal.

I flew too close to the Sun. Topped out at #182 on PSN before the losing streak kicked in. (Rank 77 if you're curious)

Now I'm one more loss away from losing my top 500. I well. At least I know I made it there and I'm proud of it.

I guess I have to either learn how to snipe or learn how to use Tracer or Reaper. I tried Tracer but she felt difficult to control. I haven't even touched Reaper since the game came out. I wanna be able to bully that bastard till he switches.

I like all the changes outlined for ranked I think. I like that the number is becoming secondary to tiers and much less of a focus, that's exactly what it needs to be.

Eh, her m2 is 75dps and can crit. You should primarily be attacking using m2 anyway. So often i see lucio or genji trying to run away and i just go blat at their heads instead of chasing to freeze them.

My qualification of her being almost there is that the wall is actually that good.

Also what. She is one of the fastest ult builders in the game. Now even moreso with self heal buff. If you're primarily attacking with m1 i can see why you'd think it's slow but if you know how to aim at midrange she gets her ult up ridiculously often.

Woo got Nihon Genji, that red Mercy, Swedish Torb, Seleçao Lucio, T&R Tracer and their highlight intros within 5-7 loot boxes. Even got Lucio's Hippityhop outfit. Luck shines on me today!

Also man, I usually play Symmetra on Comp. (her damage is ridiculous when coordinated with teammates who can distract for me) but lately I've been using Zarya. She's such a beast, I LOVE her ult and shields, popping a shield on a team reaper using Death Blossom, or Pharah using Missile Barrage while lasering the shit out of everything never gets old

Was going 1-1 in a competitive game only to drop a player at the start of round 3 which was attack on Hanamura, despite a valiant effort we inevitably lost that round yet deep down I knew that we should've had them.
Then it's last ditch defence time, us 5 just had to defend point A against the six of them to win and we bloody well did it.

Probably my proudest win so far, against the odds we chose to fight and we damn well won.
Symmetra was apparently my trump card, I love that beam.

This was of course followed by a crummy loot box

Tracer feels so good when you get decent with her, and downright abusive when you get skilled (at least on console). I felt the same about Reaper at first, but man there is no denying how good of a counter he is to some heroes and how game changing his ult can be.

Damn, that's awesome Kor, nice work.

I managed to place at 48 and ended at 65. Mostly Zarya, Reinhardt, and Lucio for me. I think I hurt myself when I was doing placement matches with friends too.

Next time I'm going to do placement completely solo and see how that affects my placement.

Huh, looks like I already got the Reaper summer line and I didn't notice. Glad I checked. Think I have all summer stuff now.

I'm having a ton of fun doing this in QP. I think I've started taking this game a little too seriously and I don't think it shines when played like that.

The only games I lost were Genji and Soldier and for that one I lagged horribly at the very end, we were holding pretty well until then. Last one was Bastion and it was KOTH, we still smoked em and I got POTG.

I'm bummed I have to stop, was having a really good time. Thanks Lik.

Tonight i WILL earn nihon genji skin. I WILL

I said the same. Instead I got a legendary Mei skin idgaf about, and the purple coin was credits.

It's amazing that the fucking legendary summer skins are less elusive for me than that one damn purple. I got each of them at least 3 times. Except maybe the UK flag Tracer skin.

Because that line makes no sense.

Still love it.

apparently it's a reference to some sports commentator but i decided not to look it up. i like not knowing what it means lol

Got a hanzo that refused to switch during capture. At the end he boasted about getting gold elims (for what its worth, 3 of us were tied for it) and I asked how much objective time he had.

Direct quote: "I dont play for objective time. I play defense."

Needless to say we lost 1-3.
