Neither is a big story, but one can be humorous. Lighten up

You know who made no gaffes today?

Maybe he should have made a Czech's are Nazis joke and misspelled a word in the statement, all the air play!

Of course maybe the media won't make a big deal out of a retarded app developer and my theory will be shot down.

Trump told Blitzer that many people have announcements in newspapers because they want to say they've been born in america. Is that even remotely true? Is it true in the slightest, smallest, tiniest possible way?

Obama offends an entire country by accusing them of participating in the holocaust.

Romney pays an apparent moron to make him an app.

Which will get more press play?

Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present, the new "57 states!".

Oh lololol. Y'all should download the brand new official 'With Mitt' iOS app from the Romney campaign right now before it gets pulled to get updated. It's an app for taking your photo with various "With Mitt" brandings applied. Except there is a problem with the first option it shows you...

I have to say, I'm actually surprised at the reactions to the Trump thing. People aren't just mocking him, but they're actually being quite angry when they do so. Rachel Maddow and her minion, Steve Benen, both of whom are extremely civil people, have called out Trump pretty harshly.

Well, he did just say the conspiracy started in 1961.

I think this appropriate:

http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/5/24/3041662/38-studios-lays-off-entire-staff

Shorter version: Curt Schilling is a major right wing douchebag, the kind that talks about bootstraps, and never asking anyone especially the GUBMENT for help, but astonishingly enough, decided to take $75 million of tax payer monies to move his studios to Rhode Island. His company, it turns out, is in shambles, and has his entire staff fired and is now begging for the the oppressive, socialist government of Rhode Island to bail him out.

In other words, Schilling is a self made man hero.

Guess Romney found his new VP.

Clinton comes from one of the most respected/poplar families in the country, has unquestionable credentials, and isn't "really" from New York. Of course she'd mop up Iowa, she's a known commodity and would most likely have Obama's support.

Cuomo is the definition of an east coast liberal elitist, with massive ties to Wall Street, a girlfriend, anti-union views, etc. I don't see that playing well in early states, and ultimately I see him being a democrat Romney (circa 07/08) with lots of money but little support

Mark Warner would mop the floor with him
wtf is this i don't even--

i'd say something approaching a 0% chance of it being upheld. Quote this.
Justice Kennedy. BELIEVE.

Speaking of PPACA and the SCOTUS, have there been any tidbits lately about that? Or are we all just in OMG IT'S OVER mode still?

Either way... it's almost June... yikes.

It's going to be completely overturned next month. All this liberal intimidation of Roberts over "legacy" is lol worthy. This will be the culmination of 30+ years of stacking courts with far right judges. That is Roberts' legacy, not some idealistic nonsense.

How do you know? I thought the word on the street was that the mandate would get the boot while the rest of the law survives.

Anyone following this Thaddeus McCotter fuckup?

Short version - he needed to submit 1,000 signatures (among a constituency of a few million) to get on the Republican primary ballot in August. His campaign submitted 2,000 signatures, but one of his underlings decided to just photocopy some pages of signatures and even cut and paste signatures from 2010. All duplicate signatures are thrown out, and he ended up with only 244 valid signatures and now has to do a write-in campaign.

I would say he is very popular around here and seriously, to not be able to send out two staffers door to door in a day or two to gather 1,000 signatures just seems like a royal fuck-up of epic proportions, especially when you know you're probably getting re-elected (Projected to win with 58% of the vote, per 538), and are set for life as a member of the House.

Your sense of humor may require some tweaking; it's not that funny.
My sense of humor is pretty fine actually, maybe your head needs some tweaking? Or maybe this place runs better when we are all running around like headless chickens, bereft of lightheartedness and humor? Doesn't matter really, because what is funny and what is not funny is entirely subjective. You might find Carrot Top funny, but I don't. I find obscenely rich politicians being inept funny, you don't. At least I do not make claims what is 'that' funny and what isn't.

That would be hilarious. He can also look at Craig James too!

i dont even find the misspelling that funny. I do though wonder who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to release an app that overlays his logo/phrase on a picture you can take on your phone. Its a freaking built in meme generator that is useless beyond people making fun of him

I find the typo less amusing than some of the pictures people are taking with the app. The combination has made many of them cross the absurd/surreal threshold into being pretty funny, IMO. Not a comment on the campaign at all, just an amusing set of pics. The typo is just the cherry on top.

It's not a big deal.

New Wisconsin Poll - dead heat

A new poll taken by pollster Celinda Lake — who is a Democrat but is well respected by polling professionals — has found that the battle between Scott Walker and challenger Tom Barrett is now deadlocked, at 49 percent each.

The poll — which will be released later today and was comissioned by the pro-labor Greater Wisconsin Committee’s political fund — also finds that independents are breaking towards Barrett, 49-44.

The poll is an automated one (which means it doesn’t include cell phones) that surveyed 600 likely Wisconsin voters from May 24-28, which means it was in the field until Monday of this week. Its sample: 43 percent Democrats and Dem-leaners; 43 percent Republican and GOP-leaners; and 13 percent non-leaning independents.

Today’s poll is reinforced by another internal survey released last week by the labor-backed group We Are Wisconsin, which also found a dead heat.

A public poll taken from May 17-22 by Saint Norbert College found Walker ahead 50-45, though that remained in the poll’s margin of error. Union officials questioned its sampling, and a pollster for Barrett argued to Chris Cillizza that some of the public polling had been taken before Barrett mounted his TV ad offensive against Walker.

Also: Keep an eye out for the release this afternoon of another public poll from Marquette Law School, which will be closely scrutinized by both sides.
