So, from a non-US perspective, the next 2 weeks are mostly quiet, right? The debates are gone, so unless there's some grand fuck-up by Hillary, or Trump does some even crazier shit, it's now just ground-game/GOTV. Which, as a non-US citizen, is mostly invisible to me.

Right?

Meh... I'll keep one eye on Upshot's polls, but I guess I'll just start getting used to staying-up late, getting-up early, in preparation for the day-and-night of the election. :)

Well, now that we don't have actual events to worry about, everything will revolve around dueling OPPO and tales of this, or that cohort showing up, not showing up, will suburban moms who want to be NASCAR dads respect Clinton's family leave policy? I don't recall the specifics, but part of that case is arguing that the statute of limitations didn't apply because the victim didn't feel she could come forward.

I just read a thread about it all day.

Oh, and regarding the constant calls for OPPO: people on the thread fill the time. I'll take calls for oppo over bedwetting.

Hamilton references are preferred over both, though. I watched Hamilton's America last night, it was great. Even Paul Ryan.

I believe they will. States in the West, along with Texas, Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina are expected to gain more seats and electoral votes, whereas many states in the Midwest and Northeast are expected to lose seats and votes.

In a few decades, Virginia, NC, and Georgia will likely have more points than most of the Midwest and states in the Rust Belt. It'll also make states like Ohio and Pennsylvania less influential in future elections.

Right now, the plan is to just smugly smile at Thanksgiving whenever the topic comes up. I warned them wellllll in advance that a Trump gambit was foolish, but most of them are in a GOP bubble where 90% of the people they know are voting Trump, so it's throwing their perception of reality off quite a bit.

The Louisiana poll showing that about 90% of whites in the state are Trump voters.. it reinforces this. Hillary is going to get most of her white votes in this state from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and a few college towns.. which means that once you leave our cities, the white vote for Trump approaches 100%.

It's pretty easy to see how that GOP bubble forms, but one would think that maybe they would've learned from 2012.. nope.
