There's like zero evidence of this. It stayed blue when Democrats got killed in the midterms! Obama won it by 10 points in 2008 and 7.7 in 2012. It has a prosperous urban center that attracts young urban liberal professionals and one of the most competent state parties.
Actually, Minnesota's rural areas are among the very few Democrats still win thanks to the DFL machine. It's the suburbs that provide most of the GOP vote there.

Right, sorry lol

I got my terms mixed up

I feel like everyone in Alaska would just head to Denali

Palin could guide them to Russia

Hey, on the upside of climate change killing millions if not billions, when it finally is irrefutably destroying lives in America on an enormous scale, it will basically guarantee the Dems huge wins running on "the Republicans literally destroyed the Earth."

Sorry, GOP will win on the platform of "Democrats didn't do a good enough job convincing us"

Party coalitions are likely to be way different in 2032, there's not a whole lot of point in projecting the current political climate that far into the future.
Yeah. More refugees from muslim countries throughout this century also likely means more xenophobia in the republican party.

The spin would be that the Chinese did it

Maybe, but I remain unconvinced.

Bush came really close to winning the state in both of his elections. The state is far from being non-competitive.

In 2000 Nader siphoned off 5% of the vote and Gore still won by 2.4%. In 2004, Kerry won by 3.5%, in spite of this being the only election in the past 6 elections the GOP has won the popular vote making it about 5% more Democratic than the nation as a whole. Bush was also an incredibly strong GOP candidate, especially as an incumbent wartime president.

I wouldn't be too worried.

I think me worrying about this is a good sign.

This is the first time I have caught myself worrying about future elections instead of this one.

I think places like Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania (especially Pennsylvania) could actually trend back to blue if they actually modernize a lot of their industry. A problem of the Rust Belt was not adapting to the changing markets and ignoring the high-tech field, so younger people are moving out to the coasts, and younger people are more Democrat. If the tech industry sees birth or rebirth in those states (it's already getting there with Pitt in Pennsylvania), then I don't think we have to worry about those states going red. They'll be purple, sure, but they won't be safe red.

If they don't adapt, then they'll just lose EVs because of declining population and fade from relevance, oh well.

Part of me says that the GOP will learn from this election.

...but that would be wayyy too easy.
I mean I don't think white people in the western world are going to suddenly stop being xenophobic and racist as MORE refugees come in. there's gonna have to be a party that supports them and the GOP along with all of the far right parties of europe will be there.

Twitter down?

You know, I was thinking a well-coordinated attack on the US should probably include a large-scale internet attack to bring down social media and news sources.

To be clear I am not attributing this to that, but with the heightened alert for today it crossed my mind. No bedwetting here.

Trump snuck downstairs and stole a phone from the mall. He's coming for you, Twitter.

lol I can see him breaking free from his apartment, racing outside, and commandeering someone's phone. "GIVE ME THAT PHONE I NEED IT TO #MAGA! Shit what's my password again. SHIT."

Soon after we get:

@realrealDonaldTrump GLOBALISTS TOOK MY PHONE PLEASE RM (Re-MAGA)

I wouldn't be sad if Twitter went away.

The worst of the social networks.

Lot of people bash it but I've really come to like it. But then again I just follow some friends, some people I like, and a lot of artists, so my feed is usually drama-free, so that may be why.

My first thought as well.

It would be a logical step for someone (Russia) wanting to mess with the election.

If any of you have friends or family that live in Missouri please reach out to them and urge them to vote for JASON KANDER for U.S. Senator, and also CHRIS KOSTER governor. Roy Blunt is the NRA's top puppet and thanks to him and his family full of lobbyists we have the lowest priced cigarettes and we are the only state without a prescription drug database.

As I mentioned in the previous thread I volunteered and knocked on doors and made tons of calls for Hillary Clinton, Kander and Koster so please help me out and call anyone you know that can vote in Missouri. I really do not want my historic Tuesday night spoiled by a nail-biting, narrow Senate loss. Plus I hear a Senate majority is a pretty good thing to have.

This is my 6th Presidential or Midterm election.

I have yet to have the opportunity to vote in ONE competitive national, statewide, or congressional race.

It is silly, but I really want to move to a battleground state.
