Since McCain confirms that he submitted the intel to the FBI, it can't be true that the intel was generated internally to teach Trump some critical thinking skills, since McCain submitted it from an external source, the allegedly credible former M16 member.

Regardless of whether the report turns out to be true or not, I believe this NBC story is false or a misconstruance of some other document.

Multiple officials say that the summary was included in the material prepared for the briefers, but the senior official told NBC News that the briefing was oral and no actual documents were left with the Trump team in New York. During the briefing, the president-elect was not briefed on the contents of the summary .

"Intel and law enforcement officials agree that none of the investigations have found any conclusive or direct link between Trump and the Russian government period," the senior official said.

According to the senior official, the two-page summary about the unsubstantiated material made available to the briefers was to provide context, should they need it, to draw the distinction for Trump between analyzed intelligence and unvetted "disinformation."

The briefers also had available to them unvetted "disinformation" about the Clinton Foundation, although that was not orally shared with Trump

That makes it sound like they had it on hand to show the distinction between analyzed intelligence and unvetted information.

That's what CNN's reporting said last night. The FBI already had up to August when McCain went to them with what he had.

CNN has also learned that on December 9, Senator John McCain gave a full copy of the memos -- dated from June through December, 2016 -- to FBI Director James Comey. McCain became aware of the memos from a former British diplomat who had been posted in Moscow. But the FBI had already been given a set of the memos compiled up to August 2016, when the former MI6 agent presented them to an FBI official in Rome, according to national security officials.

Basically he delivered to them September to December, which they didn't already have, in addition to a few that they already did.

That makes it sound like they had it on hand to show the distinction between analyzed intelligence and unvetted information.

Right now only NBC seems to be saying that, and it's come from what looks to be their Moscow correspondent. Unless another news organization confirms it might be good to take with a grain of salt since right now everyone's confirming CNN's version.

I mean seriously, if this situation (taken as true) doesn't justify presidential intervention then what would? Does the candidate actually need to commit treason or kill somebody before the President can talk about it? Surely we can agree that a line exists and that this crosses it. Yes. What I was trying to convey was, you didn't hear about a golden shower tape more broadly in June 2015 even though some people did because it sounds like bullshit. You are hearing about it more now because it appearing in an intel report, written oral, even as a cautionary note lends additional "credence" to spread it. It's important to consider who runs such committees when the controlling party controls other offices. When in power, cracks in coalitions form. Is this committee staffed by Republicans who think like alt-right people or Republicans who are still in A Cold War mindset?

Hell even our nominees - Gore and Kerry both made significant contributions to our culture and politics after losing, and Clinton already has a place in history.
