I'm going to ignore your comment about his personal life. I don't think it's appropriate to judge consensual adult relationships. There's no reason to love Macron. He's just a weird guy who married his middle school teacher and is extremely vanilla for European politicians. His entire platform was "we can all be friends" and "maybe loosen labor laws a little", but for some reason he was framed as the heroic underdog who saved France from a resurgence of Nazi fervor. That's fine and I probably would have voted for him but I wouldn't have a bumper sticker or anything.
I've never been in 4-way but I'd vote yes if it came down to it.How close was the initial 4-way vote?

"Maybe loosen labor laws a little" is one way to put it, sure. I think he's pretty much the only shot France has at fixing its economy.
I like to judge utopias by looking at those who are excluded from them. Far too many, from the youth to immigrants in banlieues, are excluded from the utopia that is a full-time job in France. It's the same "fuck you, got mine" mentality that drives every sort of protectionism, from tariffs to NIMBYism.
So yeah, what Macron is doing is pretty fucking important.
His reforms are unpopular and "regressive" just like, say, building high-density housing in American cities is unpopular and "regressive" (in that so-called "progressives" oppose it). Destroying entrenched power structures is usually unpopular.Considering the below-Trump popularity Macron enjoys atm I think he wont dare to push much of his Jupiterian regressive "reforms".
I lol'dJupiterian
I'm going to heavily judge that one poster and also Rick Wilson if nothing juicy droppos tomorrow.
CNN seems so disappointed Irma isn't destroying the earth.

What did Wilson say?
This is so true.Fuck no, have you HEARD French food critics? They hate food!

I think Wilson just vaguely promised something was going to happen soon (IIRC, it was actually last week, not Monday) and then Stinkles (?) in here said something about tomorrow.
I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
Rick Wilson is one of the few people whos actually clued into things but hes been super off on timing.
Lol. You complain about that one little thing. Charlie Rose was calling Bannon out left and right. I don't think I've ever seen a journalist in recent memory stand up for the Truth as much as Charlie did. Almost all interviewers and journalists would never do an interview so firm and call out the BS non-stop. I don't think I've ever seen a 60 minutes story and interview that is as contentious as this one. Charlie Rose so many times had to take a moment to respond because he obviously wanted to lose his shit on him. You could see active contempt for him.Respect Charlie Rose as an interviewer but his fluffing up Bannon is ewww. "You're a student of history" Oh please.
Yep his execution has definitely been less then stellar. I hope he gets back on track soon. You know that part about having a lot of actionable policy proposals ready to go on Day 1 and not a lot of nice-sounding soundbites?
Macron getting nothing done is an example of why you do that! He had a giant majority- if you're not using that starting from day 1 to push through reforms, you're going to get stuck in the mud and sputter out, like he currently is.

Steve Bannon is not as interesting as he thinks he is
So uh the hurricane isn't as bad as expected?
kirblar your very knowledgeable I think on this. What states do Democrats get the majority of the white vote in?
Vermont shares similar demographics with West Virginia being 98% or more white but one votes conservative while the other votes liberal. Why is that? Education?

MELKR IS UNBANNED. PRAISE.
I'm guessing we'll get some kind of first 100 hours plan at some point. Pelosi already said $15 minimum wage and VRA restoration/expansion are Day 1 priorities.Way I see it, if Pelosi and Schumer don't have some legislative aides working on language for bills right now, they're kinda fucking up.
Don't put it out there, specifics just attract nitpicking nonsense, but yeah, we should really have stuff ready to put up for vote day 0.
I'm not your guy on a state by state level like that. I know my area pretty well, but not really others. Whyamihere is the one who loves to look up rando elections all over the map, he might be better.kirblar your very knowledgeable I think on this. Who are you excluding from your utopia?Every work law firmly pushed towards "flexibilization / liberalization" (codewords for reduction) of working rights is a regressive reform by its constitution. Working rights are not a glitch, they are human rights that were conquered after decades of inhumane exploitation.
okTurns out it only took branding your corporation as a family and exploitation as a lifestyle and a choice for people to become more receptive to "flexible" work laws. Pureideology.neoliberal
It seems like an Obama '09 speedrun where he just skipped past all the stuff where Obama actually accomplished things and got right to the tea party backlash.I don't know anything about the French economy but it doesn't make sense to me why his party did so well in the parliamentary elections if people were going to immediately decide they wanted something different. I get why HE won, but he should have had no coattails, no? Why not vote for him and then all the socialists?

I hope Mueller takes Trump Jr down and buries his ass under the jail,

Amazing watching police & first responders from all over the US volunteer in FL & TX, but Antifa uses it as a chance to riot in Portland?!?
Well they still have the aftermath. Also isn't there another coming as well?
I'm really curious what the winter is going to look like in North America now.
So uh the hurricane isn't as bad as expected?
You mean the labor laws strangulating the French economy
