Some would say Sony is running out of GAAS.
I'll see myself out.
I'll see myself out.
I think the past decade of gaming has taught us that the singular visionary is absolutely indispensable for gaming project. Metal Gear without Kojima, Dark Souls without Miyazaki, COD without West and Zampella etc. We've seen publishers throw all the money in the world at projects, but it never sticks without those key people at the top. Concord is a brilliant example. Suicide Squad. DAVG. Budget was not a problem for any of those projects. What they lacked was that intelligencia at the top with the vision and the manic determination to see it brought to life. I don't think there is an artistic vision for Marathon. It's a product. "Hey Sony, here's a sweet sweet 24kt gold Bungie IP that we're going to tie to the flavor of the month MP game mode with full monetization". How can we know this you ask? The only thing unique about Marathon was the art style and come to find out it was lifted whole cloth from an artist who doesn't even work at Bungie. Will be interesting to see how much of it even remains after the lawyers have their way with it. I think it's going to be the crown jewel of the failed AAA games we've been watching over the past couple years. The one we really remember a decade from now. This incarnation of Marathon was not an amazing idea brewing in an artist's head for years before a painstaking birth, it was a boardroom creation. This is honestly the first project that Parsons can really say was his labor of love. Unfortunately, his love is not gaming, it's pulling money out of publishers and living the Robb Report lifestyle. You're fundamentally lazy...
First off, you have no idea what Jason Jones has done for the last 15 years. How involved he has been in on any games. You're just like a moth drawn to an open flame. You get attached to names for the sake of names. I specifically told you that you can go to mobygames and you can see how many of the original Halo team worked on Witch Queen and it's considerable. More people at Bungie who worked on Halo 3 worked on Destiny 2 than worked on Halo 1. It's all there in the credits, I'm not going to pick names off a list to present to you and pretend as if someone was more key than another, simply because I'm more familiar with their name.
I'm Pete Parsons' alt account who said he should be fired... that tracks... you're a troll.
IMO, this game is going F2P. Considering how much flak they've got lately, if they stated the price is $40 people would immediately laugh at it.Even if they decided to make it F2P.
Every creative that forged Halo and Destiny has been gone from Bungie for years. There was an internal hostile coup years back where ex-Microsoft employees took over. Not developers, business admin and marketing guys. Plenty of vids out there detailing this. It's just a Bungie skin suit. Moreso than even modern Bioware and the like.
There is no Bungie here. Sony bought a husk with one IP.
Concord 2.0
Anyone who says Marathon is like Concord is a moron, who should not be taken seriously. It's like saying Starfield was going to be like RedFall after that disaster.to all my LatinX friends:

Think the latest 1-2 expansions for Destiny, correct?Bungie sucks ass now and Sony is retarded for paying 3.7 billion dollars for them.
What have they released after Sony aquired them??![]()
Ill take things that have never happened for 10 please Nocty.we are really in the era of reactions to early game previews dictating entire project cancellations.
this is the type of shit you see at the absolute top of bubbles
Lucky we have Xbox releasing the single player games on PS5 now
Is it early? The game is due out in a few months and just had a public test. It seems the feedback was not good, the game has no juice, and oh yea they now need to go through every bit of art to check plagiarism and pay off some twitter weirdo so they don't get sued.we are really in the era of reactions to early game previews dictating entire project cancellations.

It's not the entire companies fault. There are decision makers that put them on this road, not all agreed, but went along. How is it not their fault when the people working on it are the ones who made it?
yep, you come sooner than everyoneI'm better than everyone.
That is so weird to me. Why copy the art, when the artstyle exists. Just do your own twist on it. It's not like they invented anything. Is it early? I told your mom to keep that between us.yep, you come sooner than everyone
my mom is a trans womanI told your mom to keep that between us.
gamer god has spoken
1 year delay will barely make any diference at this point, the core design of the game is too lame and woke to stand a chance in the market.
You people? How the fuck is Marathon woke? You people have lost the plot.
oh no, proximity chat is racist and triggers my anxiety!!!!How the fuck is Marathon woke? You people have lost the plot.
How the fuck is Marathon woke? You people have lost the plot.
They should, I wouldn't advise against that.IMO, this game is going F2P. Considering how much flak they've got lately, if they stated the price is $40 people would immediately laugh at it.
On the plus side, Bungie not divulging the price was a blessing in disguise. Imagine if they said the game is $40 a month ago, and then the plagiarism issue came out a couple week later.... You guys are charging $40 for stolen goods????
Coming out clean as F2P they can improve goodwill and max out user base as a freebie.
Hahahah this is the most clandestine black-op in corporate espionage. Fill a failing company with crappy employees and sell it to your competitor to help them hang themselves. There was an internal hostile coup years back where ex-Microsoft employees took over. Not developers, business admin and marketing guys. Plenty of vids out there detailing this. It's just a Bungie skin suit.

I mean, it's Asmongold, are you surprised? Lol.How the fuck is Marathon woke? You people have lost the plot.
asmon is not latinX, I am.I mean, it's Asmongold, are you surprised? Lol.
LOLOL.
But also, all the marketing material is laden with stolen artwork. All the gameplay footage they have in those marketing materials is gonna have to be re-cut and edited to not contain any of the lifted art. It's probably less work to just redo all the marketing after Bungie's "artwork audit" is complete.Doubt this is a delay. This means Sony has discovered that they do not need to pay anything to advertise the game anymore, as the game has reached its maximum potential exposure. Besides, we have Playstation fans helping to advertise without charge. So why not save the money that isn't going to do anything
I think that cinematic trailer they had done by that famous director looked way more interesting than the actual game. This is on top of the fact that Bungie said they don't even have a story fleshed out for the game (that's months away from releasing???) Bizarre.Lol, lmao even.
This is so bad, maybe a reboot, rebrand or even just a restart of the game is in order.
Oh Bungie, how far have you fall, I would like to say i dont miss you but somehow 343 is even worse.
They are caught because on one hand Sony loves SP stuff and their fans enjoy SP narratives too. Bungie has a history of making shooters with lots of lore and SP campaigns too with Halo and Destiny. So there's some expectations already baked in.I think that cinematic trailer they had done by that famous director looked way more interesting than the actual game. This is on top of the fact that Bungie said they don't even have a story fleshed out for the game (that's months away from releasing???) Bizarre.
Since this thing is being produced by Sony they definitely should've had a narrative driven solo campaign, even if it was small, and then tacked on the extraction shooter mode as a multiplayer feature, or better yet, make the multiplayer mode free-to-play to get people into buying the 70 dollar single player campaign. Experiment a little.
The game looks distinct - prime it for franchising, it would translate well to an anime series, maybe even pitch it as a movie or some shit. It just feels like it's coming in way too hot like it's been rushed out the door.
