After a truly shocking turn of events, the one and only NeoGAF user known as Riky Riky from Ol' Blighty, announced today via Bloomberg Terminal that he would no longer back VRR technology, or any display that supports it.

Riky likened VRR to other temporary fads in the tech world, such as 3D TVs and miniature flip phones, saying how it in fact cheapens the native gaming experience. Riky has since stated that he has went on a "gaming diet" per say, and has been cutting down his fps intake by over 50% by reducing his refresh rates from 120hz all the way down to a truly cinematic 24hz. Riky said this "further strengthens the bond of immersion between the content and the player" and he has began a campaign to make 24hz the mandatory refresh rate for all displays going forward.

Industry giant Hideo Kojima has apparently backed this campaign, and according to gaming news prophet Jeff Grubb the legendary director will utilise said 24hz refresh rate in his upcoming Death Stranding - True Deluxe Director's Cut Edition, which should be announced in an upcoming Sony press conference, although Jeff mentioned that Sony can change the date on a dime so not to be surprised if the event is to not happen for a matter of weeks/months/years.

this meant to be a joke?

Then he said Elden Ring was unplayable for him😂
And it was the first game he said VRR was needed for him.

And before you think he is talking about PS5 due the lack of VRR he added later.

"Most Xbox games are perfectly stable".

Riky living rent free in so many people's heads :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Of course. Their posts are like clockwork; one only need mention a Microsoft product to summon them with one of their timeless gems. It's hard to forget a fixture like that. You could write a bot that could cover their first post on a thread because they have such a hilarious yet defensive pattern to them.
