Sega very happy with Valkyria Chronicles' Steam launch

Hopefully SEGA understands to take the time and polish the games they put on Steam for a PC-optimized release.

I have to check the OT to see the details on it, but I'm assuming that it's running good since they spent a fair bit of time working on the port.

I have yet to finish VC on PS3... I really liked it though. I should though at some point... Sadly I can't rebuy it right now...

If they port VC2 on steam though I'll buy it in a second... and finally bring over VC3!!

It's no longer #1, but Football Manager, Call of Duty: Advance Warfare, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Isaac, Just Cause (sale), Enslaved (sale), and Five Nights at Freddy's 2.

Oh my, that seems damn impressive for an old, though brilliant, strategy game.

Durante wrote an article about it. It's a very very good port!

So much for "Nobody was really asking for Sega to port Valkyria Chronicles to PC."

So many more people will now be aware of and enjoy VC. That's great, and perhaps a sign of more ports like it.

Its criminal how few Skies Of Arcadia posts there are in here

Shame on you GAF

You can already play Skies Of Arcadia in 1080p with controller support on PC easily enough. I would buy a port of it because I loved it back in the day, but I'd rather see them work on something that isn't playable on PC like Vanquish personally.

Good news.

Resonance of Fate next pls.

Pleasepleasepleaseplease.

I bought Valkyria Chronicles PC, not because I like the game all that much (I found it pretty mediocre on PS3), but to support Sega bringing more of their JRPGs to Steam. And Resonance of Fate is #1 on my list of last gen JRPGs I want on Steam.

As I said in the VC OT, I hope this persuades Sega to crack open the library a bit, both with the other VC games as well as console stuff from last-gen.

Really pleased they released such a positive public statement on this matter, we all surmised it but it's so much tastier when official :D After we wrap #SEGAPCPorts, let's talk about Atlus?

I would actually replay this game. The combat system is so satisfying, one of my favorite.

I put 300 hours into the game, and only stopped because I got the Platinum Trophy and 1000/1000 Gamerscore on it. Even though I do not care about achievements, when you 100% them in a PS3/360 game, I always stop playing a game for whatever reason.

But I care so little about Steam achievements, and I care more about the Playtime. So I'd probably play through all 10 difficulties and do so much fucking around that I'd end up with probably over 1000 hours in the PC version.

Maybe it's time to develop a certain final entry in a trilogy that never finished for PC...

VC seems like a damn good fit for a PC audience which:

1. Loves turn based strategy games
and
2. Wants more JRPGs than it gets.

This.

I know a lot of people want Sega's more niche games, like the Yakuza series, but I am not sure how well those would translate into sales. It's not as though PC is lacking in open world adventure games with RPG elements, and it's not like everything on the Steam is an instant success.

Resonance of Fate would probably make sense though. It's already been localized.
