Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
It has been deleted since but the internet never forgets.

Technically this is more of a summary rather than a full on review.

In any event, I wanted to get back into SH2 on PC, but I wanted to play it on the Pro once the update comes out (if it ever does).

It Has to be REALLY good for me to spend 80€ on it..

I dont put much weight in dualshockers reviews..

Also the combat looked like cheeks from what i saw. I just dont expect the same quality as sh2 remake which i LOVED

I hope it great but i expect sub 80. This is from a unproven studio aswell.

The only thing holding me off is the 80 euro price tag. Just too much for a 10-12 hour story game I'll finish once or twice. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to wait for a discount.

I liked the trailers, but the first 1.5 hours that i watched doesnt convinced me to get it. I will keep an eye on player impressions before buying this one

yup absolutely disgusting price for a game from a studio that is only known for remasters and ports.
game has to be 85+ for me to buy it day1. also 10-12h is fucking nothing .thats 2 sessions and im 80 € poorer.

I'm hyped but also reserved for whatever reason. I want to believe, but I'm just going to keep an eye on it and pull the trigger when it feels right.

Agreed boys, but, Cronos the new Dawn was also supposed to be short and yet, I'm taking my sweet time with it and I'm 23 hours in with the final area still left...

Also, since it's a horror TPS, there's some replay value in there while I could not even think of replaying something like SH2 Remake (which I also enjoyed very much) due to its bloat and general tone.

I'm really interested in SH f but I don't know if I can go with another survival horror in such a short time after Cronos, I'd have to cleanse my palate first with something more "colorful" and/or "happy" both thematically and esthetically wise.

PS: I really hope it's not a short 12-14 hours affair, as you both said, 80€ is too much of an ask.

It helps that Cronos and SHf have completely different settings.

I know Boj, still, the whole grimdark, catatonic, depressive tone of survival horror games gets too much if played back to back.

Think I'm gonna go with Ninja Gaiden 4 in October and go with Silent hill f after I finish that (which by then it will also be cheaper) 😉

I beat cronos in 24h..and i also take my time. Im on ng+ now and actually 1 shot the first actual boss up the elevator.

Im ready to play another survival horror if ite good enough for the price.

Cronos was worth every cent for me since im a sucker for survival horror.

my local store confirmed it should be in my hands within 5 days. They've been pretty good at getting regular customers early copies before the street date.

Konami: We heard your feedback. We decided that gamers should get the most content suitable for the price of puchase. Therefore, the next Silent Hill game we develop will be an 80 hour Open World RPG.

lol thats the wrong approach but 12h is fucking garbage for 80€ if it isnt a 90+ game.
but everyone has to know that for themselves

Publishers are too simplistic in approach and they just care about the reason why you didn't buy the game. Since gamers stubbornly continue to equate price to hours spent, instead of price to quality, that will be what the big publishers continue to focus on.

Thus, I can 95% see a future where they attempt to extend the hour experience of a horror game like Silent Hill into an open world experience. They almost did just that with SH Downpour's town area. Imagine another Downpour but 5 times larger.

I agree with your point of it needing to be of high quality though, but I'd personally lower it to maybe 85 or 80 for me due to the 90s and up games almost all being in the 'of all time' category.

To those complaining about its length, did you not see the bit in the review about it having NG+ and how it supposedly alters things and continues the story?

These games aren't designed to be one and dones, normally. (The good ones, anyway).

Quality >>> quantity.

I don't mind paying full price for a 10 hour game that I'll remember forever and replay occasionally. If anything, I prefer games that don't waste my time with tedious filler or copy-paste work.

So if SHf is everything I hope for, then that'd be 80 EUR very well spent.

Absolutely agree but are we getting that with silent hill f? We dont know yet

silent hill 2 remake took me 25h and it was a game i could never forget..and it was only 35€ on ps5 sale half a year later

Try not to gauge the experience by the number of hours. The quality will be remembered long after the price and the runtime is forgotten.

If you say that number of hours directly correlates to value then by your own logic developers could just make longer games and provide much more value, increasing their sales considerably.

That is exactly what has happened in the industry for decades.

We are trying to dial that back now because we realize it was a mistake. Right?

I'm putting on my tinfoil hat right the fuck now but...sounds awfully convenient that the early "leak" is a hype-ass 9.5/10.

Justin Timberlake What GIF

PS: Also I'm fucking IN.
The "leak" pretty much lines up with what I saw from the early access plays. Game looks dope. Also, every new game has a legion of angry nerds posting "combat sucks", all of that noise can be ignored.

You say the quality but the quality of the game is still unknown.

You talk about it like ite some masterpiece already...

I dont get some of you

Yea no I'm not saying it doesn't. I've been hard for this game for months. Just saying the "leak" part sounds more like viral marketing to me not that the score or opinions themselves are bogus. Should've clarified.

Cronos, Silent Hill F and Tormented Souls 2 at the end of October.
And with the recent announcement of Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake......it feels so good to have these games come back after that long period of pussy FPS crap we was feed for so long.
Horror is finally back.

I excluded RE9 because I still don't know where it's gonna lean, RE7? or RE2
I don't get scared but I do feel the sense of dread those games have, and the new RE games are just jump scares which leave me looking at the screen saying "really?"
none of them have got that sense of dread in the air like walking through RCPD.
But those games do, and I'm so glad they're making a big comeback.
