Likely yes. Need to see more and what the gameplay is like. Maybe just a used copy on disc a few months after release.
So let's say we get a Game of Thrones 3rd-person action RPG and as main character we get to play Joffrey Baratheon.Your girlfriend reaction was a logical not like the ones i have been reading on this thread. I dont care about the modern audiences. The character likeness is based on a real woman. If you dont like her looks that is fine. But starting shit about wokeness just for that is dumb.
Losing 15-20% potential buyers already (if this poll reflects gaming community as a whole)

It still deserves criticism because it unnecessary to make every female look like she has a dick and is more manly than 50% of the GAF males. You're kinda right. Naughty Dog has many developers who are woke. That much is clear. In this particular case, that actress is real. They got her likeness (and her voice) as is. They had already worked with her on Uncharted, so it is more likely that they really liked her performance.
Now had they hired a "traditionally beautiful" actress like Sydney Sweeney and then removed her hair and made her look like this, then it would have deserved all the criticism.
Maybe discussions on non-binary and more push-ups from those who mess upIt doesn't. I think the game will have to show a lot more "woke" than a black woman with a shaved head to impact the general gaming populace.

You make sense to an extent. But not quite. So let's say we get a Game of Thrones 3rd-person action RPG and as main character we get to play Joffrey Baratheon.
Is he well written character? Yes, absolutely.
Is he based on a real human? Yes, he could be based on Jack Gleeson who is an amazing actor.
Is it a good choice for a main character? Hell no!
Same goes for thr bald chick in Intergalactic.
I don't doubt that she's a well written character. The actress she's based on is a talented and attractive young woman.
But making this character a protagonist in a AAAA video game that will release in 2 years is a grave mistake by Naughty Dog and PlayStation management.
Listen to this wise guy.Way too early to say. Need to know more about it. What's the gameplay like, story, etc.
Maybe discussions on non-binary and more push-ups from those who mess up
I see where you're coming from. You make sense to an extent. But not quite.
the creators are the only ones that know if an actor is suitable for the character they are trying to present and if such character is the protagonist. We just dont know what story the developers are trying to Tell, nor the ideas they are trying to convey and the limited characters presented how they relate and what is their purpose. So, I think dismissing a game just because you didnt like the trailer or the character is way too early. We only have seen 4 minutes of its entirety of an unfinished product.
I don't like the trailer, don't like the ugly character (and robot-boss too), don't buy this shit.
It could be the end of Naughty Dog as studio.
Redemption (the most effective): Tony Stark starts as an arrogant fuck, but his constant acts of self-sacrifice win the audience over. He ends up as the main character of a team of main characters.
Could this not fit?Instead we get an alienating harsh character that reeks of pure in-your-face arrogance without clear reason.
No, Ragnarok burned me out officially on these kinds of games.
Same.Akira and Cowboy B inspired new IP by Naughty Dog. Yes, that's an absolute day 1.
