But people keep telling me there's better stuff to come. Like the old OVA battle scene is very sweet. But I'm afraid this anime will stylize it with "menacing" and not make it nearly as serious. Not to say stylized stuff is bad, just that the OVA was really awesome animation-wise.
As you said your self, lay back and wait, until people hyping things up. Maybe you can just jump in and watch the perticular fight.

It's been a little while since I watched some of this but here we go again.

Engage Pie: Kiss Dum - Episode 15.

It's not everyday you see filler in a story driven 26 episode anime but here we have it. Kiss Dum did it right here.

In a not quite flashback, Shu gets some meat pie and finds a bit of jewelery in it. Tohn has a crisis after drinking a bit of alcohol. Swimsuit Girl and Glasses Guy talk about pi, pai, pie and oppai. Also Shu's Ladies decide to hurl insults to some other poor soul, yet oddly give Shu tons of praise...

It must be a dream!
It was.

Engage Rabbit: Kiss Dum - Episode 16.

We have a new OP and ED! Finally my ears don't have to be pierced by a loud shriek at the end of every episode anymore! I do like OP1's theme more than OP2's on first impression. I will say that the opening itself is OP1 but cut slightly differently and has bits of episodes in there as well, it's just like looking at Gundam SEED's OPs! ED2 is better than ED1 by default for obvious reasons.

Swimsuit Girl delves into her wardrobe and decides to become a nurse and a Playboy bunny in one episode! She sure has dedication, to something. I don't really think it's her job to dress up in silly costumes though.

Shu has now become more blunt than his ladies by telling Noa and Iera that they get in the way all the time. His ladies tell him that he's useless again.

Itsuki, the last of people from before Episode 4 has now appeared and she can ran so fast that it can't even be animated properly. She's truely a force of nature...Shu better watch out next episode!

Shit if that's the case I might just drop it. The cast of characters isn't doing it for me besides Old JoJo, but he was the reason I liked part 2 anyways. I'll come back to it when the badass is turned up I guess. So temp drop.

Well if you can't appreciate the glory of Eiffel Polnareff I don't know what to tell you! :p

Really though, Part 3 is one of my least favorite parts of Jojo. It's still pretty fun, but 2, 4, 6, and 7 are all better.

Chaika The Coffin Princess 6

Rival group officially established along with some pretty sweet action scenes. Dragoon girl disguised as Akari was pretty HNNNNNG worthy

Captain Earth - 06

How the hell Sidonia is more engaging than this despite this one isn't CGfest?
ugh.. how?
Sidonia eps 5 only consisting 2 people chatting and ending with drinking pee, and yet more watchable than this CE's episode?

Shut it down.

Oh there are a couple of things they can do :
Gundam build fighters spoilers
1)
Focus on reiji world ( we know sh*t about that after all )
2)
Since we got the particles back, just make another tournament, as for the ennemy , just pick another company wanting the particles, or someone again from reiji world
3)
Get a new cast of characters and a new storyline ( unlikely i'll give you that )

everyone knew right away that aila was

So adorable..
Those numbers are month old , right now the fanart levels are still high.

Can you tell me what tags to look up to find Aila stuff like this on Pixiv?

True story:
i've learned here ( on Animegaf ) that every anime is a harem anime.

I guess i haven't learned everything that was there to be learnt.

I fear to ask about the rest of the cast now.

Well thats certainly not true.

Yeah, there are two related uses of the "chuuni" term.

1) "Chuuni sufferers" - fans who get so caught up in fantasy settings that they imagine themselves as heroes or villains with special powers and come up with their own convoluted settings (borrowed from existing works or otherwise) to explain their imagined identities.

2) "Chuuni anime" - a loosely-defined "genre" of anime/manga/etc that stereotypically appeals to chuuni sufferers. Generally featuring such elements as: badass special powers that lend themselves to power fantasies, dark heroes or antiheroes, often convoluted magic systems, frequently gothic elements such as vampires, lots and lots of "cool-sounding" terminology (often using gratuitous English, or alternatively German etc).

OreImo provides excellent examples of both - Kuroneko is basically your stereotypical example of a chuuni sufferer, and her favourite series Maschera is a stereotypical example of a chuuni anime. Traditionally "chuuni anime" would refer to type 2; it's only in recent years that chuunibyou sufferers have become popular as an actual character type, making it ambiguous whether "chuuni anime" should refer to anime for chuunis or anime about chuunis.

So #2 is like dungeons and Dragons/LOTR/Warhammer sorta stuff? Roleplay?
I kind of like that stuff not to immerse myself into it but because its often filled with its own fascinating mythos and everything in the world exists in the context of that world. Its really fun to watch. So many details.

I have no clue what's happening anymore.

This is what happens when I sleep...

Your avatar is freaking adorable. Just saying.

Escaflowne of the Heavens 02

Well then now THIS is more like it. HELL YES.
They also introduced what I presume is best girl until further notice.
Oh yeah. The music in this is pretty fucking rad too.
Why can't we control our boners.png

Merle <3
One of the first catgirls I squeed at.

Is it Chuuni when a 30 years old married man with a 1 year old baby still watches Naruto and believes it's the best thing ever?
I knew a case in my old work...

edit: oh yeah, it reminds me of..

I read these comics from right to left sometimes on accident and I blame yall for it.

They are putting all the 2D people on GBF like they should.
GBF>>>Tomino's new Gundam>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Origins
BOOK IT

GBF is easily the best gundam anything.

So I've never really delved into Gundam. All I know is from my school days is that Trowa is a character and his hair was the hottest thing around. I watched parts of it in passing but it never grabbed me so I never went further with it.

The premise for Gundam Build Fighters sounds pretty awesome though, and I was wondering if it's easy for anyone to get into and enjoy. Obviously it would help to be familiar with Gundam models, but is previous Gundam series knowledge a big prerequisite to watch?

YES YES YES YES A MILLION TIMES WATCH GBF
Even if you hate Gundams. It doesnt matter you will love it.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou 7

Holy shit that uniform was so worth it.

Ricchan cuteness shoots even higher when she is inwardly squeeing!

The Idolmaster 25

And so it ends.

Well... The series was certainly much more emotional than I had expected. Not as funny as Love Live S1, the only other idol show I've seen. No creepy 3D dancing here, so that's a plus though. As a series I like this more than Love Live, but I like one or two of the characters in Love Live more than the ones in The Idolmaster.

Since I don't just rank based on the characters, I give this a higher score than I gave Love Live, so 9/12 idols:

Yeah, there's actually 13, but I'm in a hurry and this was the only thing I had time to find.

The image above also doubles as my ranking list :p

Akuma no Riddle 7

Fun episode is fun. What a sportsmanlike assassin. I particularly like the way she could easily have killed Haru within the space of a few seconds if she hadn't decided to give our protags a fighting chance.

The stories are good, but I really wish they had a few minutes more to establish the characters more before they're gone for good. Some assassins had hardly contact to our protagonists and I really like the interaction between the assassins. I also would like to see more of preperation, like Kenmochi make notes and assumptions based upon the play.

They can't make shows like Escaflowne any more.

I'm sure they still can, on paper, but I think the changing industry circumstances make it difficult and also more of a risk. I seem to remember that Escaflowne was one of the more expensive TV anime of its day and various fortunate coincidences helped make the series what it is. Kawamori was still in his right mind at the time, Kazuki Akane had the unusual chance to place some extra emphasis on the shoujo angle, lots of great animators were still at Sunrise rather than going to Bones or somewhere else, etc.

There's also the unique noses too, but I never had a real issue with them. Got used to the art style pretty quickly and actually sort of miss them a little bit.

Major update on the official site. They're going to start promoting this with the end of Unicorn. The final Unicorn chapter will have a 90sec trailer attached to the screenings. Lol. Sunrise isn't wasting any time.

The staff listing is.... erm.... interesting.

Chief Director: Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (Origin manga author)
Director: Takashi Imanishi (Sunrise CG producer)

Character Design: Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, Tsukasa Kotobuki

Script: Katsuyuki Sumisawa
Unit Directors: Kiyoshi Egami (directed some Yamato 2199 episodes), Ichiro Itano (only seems to direct CG stuff these days)

Chief Animation Director: Hiroyuki Nishimura (Little Battles Experience)
Chief Mechanical Animation Director: Takuya Suzuki (Valvrave)

Music: Takayuki Hattori (Slayers, Code:Breaker)

Yeah, I think all the mecha action are likely to be full CG for this one. If you're expecting 2D mecha animation and stuff like Unicorn, abandon all hope now.

I don't have any particular complaints about the staff chosen to work on Gundam: The Origin especially considering it's just an adaptation rather than a completely new work, but it is always a bit of a shame they're not following up Unicorn with another high-profile Gundam project that's both set in the Universal Century and using mostly 2D animation. Of course, Gundam Build Fighters will probably continue to have plenty of 2D mecha but that's still its own thing.

That said, I am not allergic to 3D in anime, mecha or otherwise, though there have been better examples of how to do this. I'm not entirely convinced of its benefits for this particular project yet. I guess it's a little too early to judge from these screenshots, since maybe the models will look better in motion. Sometimes that does make a difference, sometimes it doesn't.

Regardless of the above....I'm still going to check this out, but with a lot less urgency thanks to the ongoing availability of Vertical's manga release. Great stuff.

Is Code Geass Chuuni?

Partially, sure, but to a lesser extent than in the most infringing cases that are all edginess and darkness with little or no humor.

There's some effort to make fun of Lelouch's overly serious and dramatic attitude, both in the main Geass series and its side materials. Stuff like this, for instance.

Speaking of Idolmaster, I was watching a stream of the new ps3 game and it is surprisingly deep. Or maybe it just looks that way but I was impressed. People may make fun of Idolmaster but its a decent show with some nice stories.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

From brutal murder and torture to
bio terrorist conspiracy theories
, this anime was probably one of the weirder ones I've watched. The pretty simple character design of the cute little girls who suddenly go completely nuts by killing each other in over the top ways was... unique? I liked second season a lot more as there was more of an actual arching story that for the most part was pretty interesting.

The third season's 5 episode OVA had some funny moments but I'd say it's completely skippable.

Now start Wake Up Girls :D

I need to get around to watching The Idolmaster and Love Live; I've seen Wake Up Girls and both seasons of AKB0048. As an idol fan it's been interesting to watch anime with idols as a central theme.

Bruh. That's not Windows 8's fault.

It's absolutely Windows 8's fault. It died a bunch of times while Windows Updating and got stuck in a "REVERTING CHANGES" loop for about 4 hours. Then after it succeeded, I rolled some bad drivers through Samsung's auto-update tool and it THREAD_EXCEPTION_ERRORED and couldn't even load its own recovery tool.

Well, I'm not sure what's up with that scene at the end of the episode, but I do know it means
Akira still seems to have her memories, which directly contradicts what we know about the rules of losing. And if the rules of losing can be broken, there's hope for Hitoe yet...right? Right? >.>

I still don't really know what to make of Iona at this point, but I can't really argue with Tama's attitude on this one, since
she really is the one person Ruuko should be able to battle without any hesitation. Because after what she did to Hitoe, she deserves any punishment she gets ò_ó

Oh, and have I mentioned Tama is adorable? It's just so much fun to watch her when she's in her element on the field of battle.

Fukumoto doesn't count!

all dat mecha porn in the escaflowne quote
I'm enjoying it too much to make more mechaporn webms. Also regret not making versions with sound to appreciate the godly sound direction. I mean they even have effects for the idle engine operation.
Have an OP webm

Jotaro's got a thing for Kugilolis, who knew that it would take 25 years to realize?
Truly great times we are living in.

Date A Live II 6

Well, they certainly picked the right VA for a spirit whose power is in her voice. God help me I love Chihara Minori's singing voice so much <3

Depriving Shiori of her band members like that
was such a total dick move, but I guess that's the whole point in Miku's character. She is an awful human being. (Er, even if she isn't strictly a human being. You know what I mean.) Someone has got to put that bitch in her place posthaste.
