Spring Anime 2012 III | AITAKATTA YES!

Since we're talking about Mizushima and all, I didn't realize that the Joshiraku manga (anime airing in Summer) was created by Kumeta. Probably because of the art--it's handled by the dude who did the art for the Toradora LNs.

It's not done by SHAFT, so the potential of mind blowing is decreased.

Except the girl on the left who is too embarrassed to broach the subject.
Yep. And her brother, strange enough.

No, I know. I've read the summary on the season sheet. The other two are what I'm talking about.
Ah, okay.

I'm glad this episode turned it around a bit after the last two downtime episodes (though it was nice to see Mihoko and co). This is what Saki needs to about. Half an episode of mahjong swagu and half yuri/friendship flashbacks. This is the formula. It's a shame the end is so near already when it finally gets into gear. At this point, the main Achiga cast hasn't done that much for me. Out of all these new characters, I like Toki (dat ricchi pose) and Yuu the best (I'm still pulling for you Shizu but you need to swag out soon).

On a side note, even the probably throw away 4th player was interesting this time being voiced by Satomi Arai.
The manga was a stop-gap hype vehicle and the anime is serving the same purpose. Yeah, they are doing the formula a bit, but for me anyway, there's enough teasing that I want to see a fully fleshed out 26 episode Saki s2. lol

Talks about beauty are serious business.

Leads to "What hand said to face" jokes and such.

Yeah most definitely. I wonder if Saki was a battle manga/anime would I still be as interested. Probably.

Exposition has never been so trippy.
The most exposition episode ever. And if anything, it just gives more questions than answer. Not to mention, so much talking everywhere. At least it wasn't Kyon talking all the time. Not much more to say about this episode. Too bad they didn't bother making all the exposition trippy.

Kyon talking is the best part of Haruhi.

2D dancing? I didn't sign up for this.

This is how I feel when trying to describe the selection process:

I love this show.

It kind of is, what with everyone having super powers.

Teru is pretty balling already. I can't imagine her super powers in the finals.

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Yuki not saying anything is the best part of Haruhi.

For some reason I felt a deep sense of shame as I watched this. I think I was frowning or cringing the whole time, when I wasn't laughing.

I will watch more.

What an entrance.
I guess it's been years since I originally saw this, but I thought this happened a lot later in the show. Still a really good episode. The fight was pretty cool and more foreshadowing or events that will occur are told to poor Kyon.

Well, from one point of view you're right; Melancholy IV is episode 10 by the original broadcast order.

If you didn't know this already, an interesting factoid regarding Akibaranger and Sankarea: Hakase's actress, Maaya Uchida, is also the seiyuu for Rea Sanka.

Man, this episode was badass.

Also felt terrible for Red and I wonder if I'm giving the writers too much credit for the whole delusion thing, but still, damn son.

e: didn't know there was an active sentai thread. Time to move my one-liners over there.
