I can't remember if I've asked you this before but could you expand on what exactly it was you found so interesting about it? Chances are I won't see it your way but I'd at least like to know what someone who is interested in more than simple moeshit saw in it.
Well, the visuals are pretty good. Like, very good. And I don't find the show as lacking in other departments as other people do, the character chemistry isn't exactly thrilling but it works well enough and keeps me interested beyond the visuals. Plus, the occasional "wacky" eps are very fun. It's a good show.

Okay, two months in now, I am awfully close to calling Subarashiki Sekai as the ending song of the season.
Altair is a very very close second though.

Above Your Hand is still my favorite for this season.

It's literally the one ED that I have to watch through every time.

While the time compressions aspect of Kids on the Slope is certainly a detriment to the series I don't think it's the soul cause of some of the shows other issues. Wandering Son was a heavily compressed adaptation but I still felt like most of the characters (most of the time) felt like believable people.

Wandering Son wasn't quite as compressed, since it extracted 6 volumes of the manga whereas Kids on the Slope is trying to fit in its entire 9-volume run. But you're right that KotS has other issues. If I were handling the adaptation, I would have cut the side character material more ruthlessly so the series could focus more strongly on the Kaoru/Sentarou relationship and jazz, its strongest elements.

I like Idolm@ster. Because it's a overall pretty well-directed show with excellent visuals and character designs, in addition has a diverse range of episodes with various degrees of different tones and settings, that are all mostly done pretty well. Plus I love the "idol" theme, and while the lack of chemistry between the cast doesn't make it reach the iconic heights of say K-ON!! I enjoyed the characters of yayoi, makoto, miki and chihaya well enough!

Ooh yeah, that's a good one too; probably didn't come to mind since Sankarea isn't is on my watchlist. Amusingly the same thing happened with Annabel last season, with Anamnesis from Another.
Takane sucks

and

Chihaya rocks!

You might have some strange fetish for flabby tissue, but don't lump us all in with your weirdness!
Characters aside, I can at least say that Asami Imai > Yumi Hara, not that the latter isn't doing a good job in Dusk Maiden.
Didn't mean to make it more difficult :lol. Thanks for the info though! Much appreciated.
Heh, no problem, I remembered seeing it on 4chan a while back so it was just a quick archive search, and I only bothered to fill in like three of the blanks anyway.

It's literally the same group of people. After Goldfish Warning wrapped up, they got new source material and went to work on Sailor Moon.

Sure is a lot of staff whoring going on in here!

It looks like I need to add Goldfish Warning to my infinite backlog.

"And Ubrabe spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

Also, this is the third episode of a show this week that prominently features hair. I smell a conspiracy.

Normally I would have pegged this episode as a filler episode or in the nothing really progresses much category, but Mutta's thought process throughout carried this episode.

Also, this is the third episode of a show this week that prominently features hair. I smell a conspiracy.

I've noticed there have been a few weeks where various shows follow the same thematic or phrase in the same week, like the Samurai "Once again i've cut something useless." phrase which happened in Lupin III and Upotte in the same week, there are other instances but that's the only one at the top of my head right now.

Well, I didn't really find anything to like apart from the production values and the only episode I genuinely enjoyed was
the one with the runaway bride
but you're entitled to your opinion and all that.

Plus I'm still bitter about fang girl's episode. Best girl gets the worst episode? Fuck that.

There is also the helpful visual gallery from AchtungAffen's website Rei Liberation Parade (http://www.reiliberationparade.com.a...eria_7_p01.htm), but that hasn't been actualized on a long time.

Remember that, even if it doesn't conserve the images at their full resolution, the 'Toppage Gallery' section on the official site GAINAX NET presents all of them with a date of publishing, and also descriptions by the author or additional information (http://www.gainax.co.jp/gallery/).
i've been looking for this for a while now. thanks heaps!

How many of these tests actually occur IRL? I must know the realism of this show

the thing about coincidences is that they stay with you
something, somewhere is going to coincide at some point
its like those people who pray and somehow something related happens and then zomg miracle jesus

I am constantly impressed by the characterization in this show, they've done a remarkable job there. I don't have much else to say about it this week. I suppose it's safe to say that Kenji Nakamura has redeemed himself with this series.

The right thing to do for idolmaster is to watch 4~9, watch 15, then watch 23~24.

fate/zero 22

This was really fucking good. Stage-setting bonanza with the characters being set into motion, loosed at last from all the momentum built up throughout the series. Even the title for next episode is fucking win.

Also
the show is rather fond of choking women. Whether it's with two hands gripping tightly their necks or a worm rammed down the throat of a young girl . . .

Fate/zero 22 - Not a whole lot happened in this episode. But the build-up and momentum throughout this episode was really good. Some damn good character animation in the episode to. Excited for the next three weeks!

In a way, his designs are a step back to the stiff looking, hard to move character designs of the original green jacket series. It's no coincidence that series 2 and series 3 are considered (and just are) more visually appealing despite having much simpler character designs -- it's because these simpler character designs lend themselves better to animation.
I'm not sure of that although I understand the reason why you say it. I think the animation character designs from the new Lupin the Third series could be considered detailed as seen on the model sheets but I also think it depends more on how those lend itself easily for a useful simplification, in my opinion the plasticity and basic distinctiveness is there.

However what the art direction wanted on stylistic choices appears not toned down depending on the nature of the scene's animation, as you said, so because of that I think this is more a general problem, or better said bold choice, rather than one dependent of character design or specific things that, as I see it, can be left aside.

i've been looking for this for a while now. thanks heaps!
No need to thank me, I'm here to help... but now that I see that I'm curious to know... what "heaps" exactly means in the context of that expression? I don't know much English vocabulary like that (or any as you can see above).

In defence, of er, Japanese writers I suppose, hair cuts are used that way by writers all the time in the West, quite often with female characters. It doesn't make much sense to single out Japan for blame on that front.
Writers in the west almost always avoid it because actors either have to wear a wig or get the actual haircut.

But even then, when it happens, it's usually on the scale of Breaking Bad rather than Apollon.

Fujiko Mine 9

I enjoyed this episode, Fujiko suddenly becomes more interesting by virtue of being rendered incompetent throughout (or at least when she is given an obstacle to run up against). And It's no surprise that the quality has followed the entire cast being implemented better. I'm starting to see why Lupin is so likeable, a complete scene-stealer if there ever was one!

Owls are so sinister! That imagery is really effective, and coupled with the audio cues, it really helps to hammer the darker elements home whenever they decide to dispatch with the silliness. It looks like its set for a strong finish, just a little unfortunate that it seemed to meander so much in the earlier episodes.

I think I might watch the Castle of Cagliostro today and kickstart my introduction into Lupin.

- This is going to be shit, isn't it?
- So it's a school for closet lesbians.
- Troll-sama is shaping up to be the only good thing about this show.
- These sorts of character fan clubs need to be systematically rounded up and fired into the sun.
- Developmentszzz
- Oh my god they did not seriously make the OVA last episode all about glasses fetish girl, a genuine contender for the most annoying character ever.
- Troll-sama was the only good thing about this show.

She's definitely the best aspect of the show. I've got a bit of a soft spot for Subaru as well 'cause she's cute, but everything other than Troll-sama and Subaru is absolute shit. I had fun watching it, but I won't deny how bad the rest of it is. :p

I agree with the character fanclubs bit, it's really contrived and boring. And yes, they devoted an entire episode to the cow who's fucking annoying as shit. >>; If they're going to devote an episode to a character, it needs to be Troll-sama. XD

Okay, this face caught me off-guard. (a.k.a. lawl)

On the episode: Worst council...ever
and Chief of police, etc, etc
...
aaaaand lay off on the C.G. vehicles!

Additionally, we're still at the:
C.A~!

Also, some of dem moves at the end of the episode were mighty appreciated
water field ice machine gun and punching a couple bullets
.

After the last episode, a bit of fighting (without getting destroyed in 3 seconds) was what I needed.

Just caught up on this thread. The only thing of value were the MGX9 impressions and pictures. The "what is important to anime" discussion can suck my butt. :)
