Star Wars Outlaws runs "pretty poorly" on the Switch 2

Runs well on my PS5.
I wonder what's up with the reactions on your post, it runs decently on my slim PS5 as well. SW Outlaws on the PS5 definitely runs far better than the CP2077 SW2 port that the Switch faithful like to point out as a good example of a 3rd party switch port.

I honestly expected the Switch 2 to put out near identical versions of games for the first two years at least. Everyone praised its modern architecture and DLSS and here we are, this catastrophe of a port and Eldrn Ring looks like a mess too.
I agree that most buyers will just be happy about having those games in portable play but even portability is offering two hours of battery.
I'm honestly regretting my purchase.

720p with heavy use of FSR in performance mode, it sure runs like Cyberpunk on Switch 2

Not sure why people are claiming it doesn't run well on the other consoles, both the PS5/XSX have 99% locked 30/40 fps modes and the 60fps stays over 50fps all the time, well within the VRR window. PS5 Pro is basically a locked 60fps as well. Getting locked 60fps (or higher) on PC doesn't require a mega GPU either.

The Switch 2 simply isn't powerful enough to run an open world game with RTGI, same goes for the Steam Deck, it runs like shit on that as well.

Yep, that engine is quite efficient.

S2 is just not powerful enough.

its funny, cause I love seeing the damage control nintendo fans desperately rushing to these threads to try and save face

Current gen game launching on a last gen spec Switch 2. That's the issue.

Exact same issue that has going around since the Wii days.

For you young gamers who didnt play consoles back then, there was a time (Gamecube era and before that) where Nintendo actually tried competing on a good powerful system at $200. At that time, I dont think any of their consoles or handhelds were ever priced above $200. Yet they figured out how to make systems that went toe to toe with Sega, PS and Xbox at a bargain price.

Man how things changed the second they got a whiff of success with Wii.

all that 3rd party support will evaporate
That started in the N64 era, and it's got worse since. At least, some people can say N64 was logically out of the question due to cartridge limits.

When even port spammers like EA who'd release just about all their action and sports games on every console and PC, except Nintendo systems you got third party support problems (EA even made Nokia N-gage games). And it's not like their consoles sell so few units dont bother. Wii, Switch 1 and surely Switch 2 will all sell 100M+ units. And still a lot of third parties dont bother. Or they launch it 2 years later as an ultra gimped port.

A lot of these big publishers don't have enough experienced employees who know how to optimize, which is one of the primary skills of game development. But people will just blame Nintendo because of console wars.

Didn't this perform/look poorly on the other consoles too?
not as bad as switch 2 i can guarantee on that.
Infact, just like other games, console runs wayyyyy wayyy better than switch 2 lolz

Oof I knew this would happen. Porting current gen to switch 2 is a tough ask but it CAN be done. Look at Cyberpunk 2077. Amazing port.
