I don't see dual spec in for at least a year. I rather they bring in other ideas they have like the guild capital ships.

Just my two cents, but I would prefer a guild space station to capitol ship, but both would be very welcome. More raids would be my first wish, but that might take a goodish amount of time to do.
I can take or leave dual spec, so I guess I will root for it so those that want it can benefit.

What's the difference between a capitol ship and a space station, besides the fact that space ships are way cooler than space stations?

I guess you could have pretty everything people want in a capitol ship, but what I was thinking is gtn terminals, skill trainers, transport vessels to flash points, crew skills/ end game vendors etc. It makes more sense to me too have those things on a station, but I wouldn't balk at a ship.

Well stations are stationary, they are just a place you can visit. Capital ships can travel, which means if your guild wants to raid somewhere, go to Ilum, or where ever, you can gather on the ship, fly the ship there, and drop the entire guild off.

Hope it's good enough.

Thinking about pre-ordering this ... are the extra's in the Digital Deluxe Edition worth the extra cash? I haven't really been following the game to be honest, at least until today.

Will there be PvP space combat?

1. No (imo).
2. No, only space combat on rails against other battleships, meteors, etc... No PvP with starships.

Well looks like color matching is going to be out for a long while. Sigh. Hopefully that means they have AA for launch now(I can't believe I even had to type that last sentence).

I still have no idea what is going on.

People who preordered and were in the beta are being given "early access"? This means they get full access to the final retail product for a week before everyone else?

People who ordered a digital copy are going to be able to login after they receive an email on the 16th?

The game officially launches on the 20th, but retailers aren't shipping copies until then, possibly making it so people who ordered online won't even receive their copy until after christmas?

People are whining that Bioware didn't continue the free play period all the way up to (and beyond) the official launch?

People ordered from Amazon expecting launch day delivery? What planet are they from? I have repeatedly had launch day delivery from EB, but have never heard of Amazon pulling this off. Why didn't these people just order from EB or plan to walk into Best Buy on day one?

I would just want to walk to the store, buy the game on the 20th, come home and play. I assume this will be possible. Why is there so much drama?

Blame the retailers. I ordered from *********** (banned for some reason) and they are dispatching on the 14th, for delivery on the 15th. Though they did say that before the announcement that early launch was on the 13th.

Wrote my store's schedule for next week, and somehow I ended up off on Tuesday. Crazy, huh? I put in my pre-order code less than an hour after east coast GameStops opened the day codes were available, so I should be good.

I scheduled myself off wednesday just in case drama happens tuesday. I preordered within an hour as well so im sure im good for tuesday but I hate stressing about games so i just made it a day late.

I found a good writeup on the different healing styles for those curious.
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1026827-HEALING!-A-Comparison-of-the-Healers

I didn't realize every healer got combat rez except for BH/Tropper. I wonder why?

I dont know why either, but for one thing, the entire group gets debuffed when a combat res is used, so it's a 1-per fight kind of thing like WoW these days. I don't think itll be a big deal. Also, keep in mind your don't have to be heal spec to get or use combat res.

IGN Interview about launch with James Ohlen.

Link: http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1214438p1.html

IGN: For graphics options, will there be any additional tweak options you can make just in the menu aside from what we've seen in beta when the game goes live?

James Ohlen: We have some. Some of the textures we had were messed up a little, we've fixed that up. Anti-aliasing is something that we're going to have in either right after launch or for launch. It's just something that we had on very late so that's another graphical option that you're going to be able to have access to.

They're probably tinkering with it right up to early access (and beyond to be realistic). Still though, for everyone at BW it must feel like they are on their final stretch. Just about 48 hours to go ...

I enjoyed the interview, but there was some misdirection about some of the Q&A.

For example, when asqued about the multiple storylines for one single class. Every inquisitor´s story is about the same throughout the game, with the same start, middle and ending.

Another thing that irked me were the graphical options, for a game these days to launch without AA is ridiculous... and still no word on why the removed the perfectly working option for your armor to match the color of your chest piece.

Check official blog/forums. They addressed it.

If your choices creates a different outcome, then it's a different storyline. TOR has plenty of those. This includes being peaceful and avoiding confrontation and helping NPCs and having them vouch for you in a later mission.

Site is down. Can you give me the gist of it?

Not if the end result is the same. Take the inquisitor i gave as an example before.

The class gets its ship the same way, gets the same main quest, the outcome of the quest is the same through chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the story-line.

I admit there are some minor choices that can vary leading out to the conclusion of each story segment, but the segment is always a preset conclusion.

It´s not that im criticizing bioware´s approach, its not feasible to have a multiple "ending" mmo, but i would be even happier with them if they took a page out of blizzard´s phasing tech and added some much needed non linearity to the game world itself.

Im glad they took the forums down because people were twisting the words in that interview in ways I can't even imagine.

He said they will add more UI customization, but some people took that as them allowing ADDONS. He also said that a LFD system would be good for a mature game (unlike SWTOR), but people twisted to mean they wanted a LFD system....ugh. They need to improve the LFG "system," but certainly won't need a full on LFD system for a while.

I won't pay for an MMO with a WoW style LFD system unless they can find a way to counterbalance it so I hope one doesn't come any time soon.

Thanks. Although i was left with more questions than answers. after searching for bioware´s explanation of why they removed "match color".

Still, they shouldnt try to reinvent the wheel with their system. Looking at LotRO and its cosmetic´s system, i see it as a perfect example on how players can maintain an interesting and unique visual style without compromising their gear.

If bioware implements a similar system, or even a direct copy, im all for removing match color until they do.

Well people assume that any LFG system = WoW's LFD system.

Right now to find a group in SWTOR you have to spam /1 or whipser people who are "LFG" tagged since you couldn't see their comment. Oh and their /who is limited to 50 people. I know they can do better than that, at least a LFG channel!

Man I loved needing 3 CCs for that 7 pull in Shattered Halls.

Wait, no I didn't.

I sort of did, I loved almost everything about TBC, I loved that it was hard, made you need certain things, made certain classes do things that no other could. It could've been better balanced and it could have used a few of the modern tweaks to clean up longer playtimes and other silly old school bits but it's heart and style was perfect. To me it was Blizzard at their finest.

Fast forward to 4.3 and it's two room "heroics" (said rooms being connected only by cutscenes or teleporters) that are easier than any normal mode dungeon in the history of the game. No one needs to talk, all classes within an archetype are pretty much the same and you just grind your vp and get out, ah evolution.

That's what LFD did to the game, it makes people lazy, entitled and all of which shrouded behind an even heavier cloud of anonymity which just made a mean community even meaner. If bioware wants to rock one they need to work proper design in and learn from the past so the same thing doesn't occur. I don't want another MMO where, prior to heroic raiding, the hardest task is logging in.

I'm no elitist at all, and I totally want to keep moving away from the insanity of EQ and the like but there's certain things that just cause more harm than good.

I honestly avoided all of that since I never grouped with people I didn't know (ever), but WoW is so large I don't see how they could've not put it in. For instances like Dire Maul, how the hell can anyone run that now without LFD?

SWTOR doesn't need that though. The space stations operate as a hub and have transports to every flashpoint in the game.

I know, I was just saying people on the forums were like "THEY ARE GONNA ADD LFD" when they won't, just an improved way to LFG (I hope). If they ever add a LFD system it would be years and years from now and that bridge can be crossed then.

From what I gather the feature was simply removed because there aren't enough unique armors in the game and the color match system exposed the palette swaps. They are probably going to readd the same or improved system later down the line once more models are in the game. I don't see why they can't add the color match system now since it works and add an improved whenever it's ready. It's not like people can't see through palette swaps, these are old tricks that most gamers are used to.
