If you've been following the holonet timeline on the main site, that's been revealed in reverse chronological order also.bjaelke said:Yeah, I'm getting a younger Malgus vibe from this as well. I wonder what reasons they could have for airing the trailers in a non-chronological order. Perhaps a big reveal.Revan as Emperor?
CcrooK said:They'd be crazy not to release it this year. Seriously though, what chance does Guild Wars 2 or TERA have up against SWTOR? I could see Guild Wars 2 being the actual threat with their launch time but I don't think that game is even coming out this year.
Shrinnan said:So even the pureblooded Sith are looked down upon? Wow. Personally, I would think the purblooded Sith would try to do the reverse to the humans (although I imagine it is because, as you put it, the human Sith are the ones in charge).

You're probably right. I've tried to avoid the synopsis, but finally caved in.BattleMonkey said:Well unlessRevan actually destroyed the Emperor and turned bad once again, it seems clear that the Emperor is someone else from the holonet. And the upcoming Revan novel sounds like it's going to involve Revan going after the hidden Emperor
Dromund Kaas is a beacon of efficiency and discipline. With a fully militarized society, police actions are rarely needed.
Betacake said:This should keep everyone interested until more stuff becomes available next week at E3.
By stuff i'm implying a lot of things, might be footage, might be interviews or might even be dates. *wink*
He doesn't have any information regarding a release date nor does anyone in the beta. The stuff that becomes available next week is the stuff from BioWare and some people are expecting a release date.goat said:Q & A #5 is up on BetaCake.
I wonder what exactly he is hinting at. I suppose the webmaster of a leak site could have some inside info, but I have no idea why he wouldn't just spill the beans.

Oh and this Origin shit is just a way for EA to try and grab some Steam money.
Trouble said:No Steam
Shrinnan said:I don't know, I still think there's a chance for a late 2011 release. Mainly because I don't see BioWare releasing both Mass 3 and TOR within a month or within weeks from each other.
"They say... Least investors start asking questions..."bjaelke said:Stephen Reid said that there'll be 2 updates besides the 3 Friday updates on the site. One of them is already given in the Origin exclusivity. I imagine the other has to do with digital pre-order details. The EA store need a big exclusive hit for when it opens. Either they go with BF3 or SWTOR.
Oh, and the release date is still 2011: Don't ever think we're not hard at work every day, and moving towards a date... that's currently in 2011.

What We Expect at E3
At previous events and special "immersion days," the press has had extensive access to Star Wars: The Old Republic's introductory areas. At E3 the focus will be on high-level content such as raids. Any experienced MMO player will tell you that the level-cap is where the meat of an MMO begins, and a well-developed endgame is one of the most important parts of player retention. We want to see how BioWare plans to keep players hooked when story progression slows or comes to a halt, and raids, which put an emphasis on group cooperation and continued (though incremental) progression are an integral part of that. Oh, and we also want a release date.
Hmm, seems like the perfect place to announce something in relation to it. Maybe it'll be DRM-free. That Origin news really came out of nowhere. I'm hoping for some kind of incentives.goat said:I feel like the wind is out of my sails right now. I really had my fingers crossed for a release date announcement at E3. Shit, at this rate, I'll just be happy to see the game out before 2012.
EA can't go too far with incentives without pissing off Retail.bjaelke said:Road to E3: Star Wars: The Old Republic

I thought that being the money and time sink that TOR has turned out to be, they HAVE to release it in 2011...CcrooK said:No release date eh? Smells like 2012. Poopy.
glaurung said:I thought that being the money and time sink that TOR has turned out to be, they HAVE to release it in 2011...
If they delay it now it means that they intend to blow another massive wad of cash and development time on it. And by the time they are finally done, the scene has changed.
CcrooK said:Well, a lot of people over on their forums are pretty upset about it. Nothing like putting Bioware on blast but it seems everyone before was expecting some kind of reveal of a date. I dunno. Maybe we'll still get beta times roughly. But yeah, I think this game needs to be out by this year. I mean hell, we're not looking at FFXIV quality of a launch here.
They send out another email 2 days ago reminding the Europeans to prepare for European Game Testing.Orgun said:Judging by the leaked videos the game is already in a better state than FFXIV, christ that game was awful. Wonder if they have started to charge for that clusterfuck yet.
I am starting to think there won't be a release date announcement at E3 but I think it more likely that there will be a beta (open or not) announcement. Or at least talk about ramping up the amount of people in beta. ....I want in!
Zinga said:I'll be seriously disappointed if there isnt a release date announced at E3, I really believed that this was finally going to be the time when they did announce it..... talk about vaporware
