I hope we get a date soon, or at least access to a Beta. This whole private testing for almost 4 years is a pretty long time.

It would do wonders to keep people tided over

I wish they would post the backgrounds in 1080p and without that red "divider".

Now this is an update.
It gets even better when coupled with the MMORPG interview I posted earlier.

With the Origin news, I'm going to say that during EA's press conference, they'll talk about what we already know (SWTOR being digital exclusive to Origin, etc) But they will also say that pre-orders are going to be available either then or soon and that pre-ordering from there is the only way to guarantee entry to the beta, and you can get in on X date.

It's really a perfect setup for this. They'd make so much money on their service right there because of that. So yeah, no pre-order info today doesn't mean we won't get more news on Monday in regards to it and the beta.

Trooper Vanguard for sure
As much as it pains me to say this, I think I'm going that route too. I just have a bad feeling that smugs are going to get the short end of the stick when it comes to pvp.

This Origins business has really pissed me off. My experiences with the EA Store and Downloader have been horrendous. I bought Crysis on there a long time ago and after a year or two I started getting a "No CD/DVD" error, which was never fixed so my copy of Crysis is worthless. Patches, reinstalling didn't fix it and EA didn't seem to give a shit.

I'd greatly prefer if this was on Steam or something, but I get the feeling more companies are going to do this and I'll be forced to have a zillion different download platforms.

haha, good stuff. Closed platforms like this always suck on PC. Impulse & Steam work because they let other publishers in.

Yet people don't cry about Blizzard products being exclusive to battle.net...

I'll probably just end up getting a hard copy of the game. Hopefully we get a beefy CE. I'm sure Amazon will give me some money back. :D

Still Jedi Consular Shadow for me.... can't wait!!!

I'm preordering this game. May even get the collectors edition, if it comes with sweet swag.

And I don't know why so many people hate steam? I've never had a problem with it and I've been pruchasing games off of it since highschool. I still pllay TFC once in a while on it too and I'm prefectly satisfied....

I've never ever had a problem. =D

Sith Sorcerer for me.

Can we expect an awesome CG trailer this year again? :O
Absolutely. From today's E3 update:
You may recall the dramatic cinematic trailers we’ve released at previous E3 shows. First, “Deceived” showed the dark triumph the Sith Empire achieved by sacking Coruscant and destroying the Jedi Temple. Then “Hope” took us back a few years in Old Republic history to the courageous stand made by Republic heroes in the Battle of Alderaan. These are critical points in the history of The Old Republic, but there’s another moment that we’ve yet to share.

I think for their last big E3 they will find some way to get Revan into trailer for maximum hype

That would be the way to do it. I still doubt that Revan will be in the game though. BioWare has already confirmed that we will learn about Revan throughout the game, but I doubt Revan is still alive. If he is, then that would be awesome. Some are speculating that he's going to be the Emperor, but I doubt it. My guess is that Darth Malgus and Satele may have another encounter and Malgus will mention Revan, her ancestor. That would be enough hype for the masses.

I just wonder how BioWare is going to handle Revan with the new book. While it doesn't really matter to me, BioWare is giving Revan their own personality now and perhaps a look to go with it. Revan is no longer a character that players can have as their own (although he has perhaps never been this because there has always been canon with him).

I counted at least 12 PCs in that tiny glimpse of raid content. Hopefully there isn't more than 12, because that is the perfect group size.

Maybe the "challenges" they refer to are smaller groups?

That would be nice. After raiding in WoW for 6 years, and going from 40 to 25 to 10, I much prefer the smaller/tight-knit groups.

Damn it all I really should have stopped paying attention to this game, now it is too late and BW has me for at least as long as it takes to level basically every class, because they all appear to be fun. Sentinel will likely be my main duel light saber dps yes please.

Revan would be about 340 years old so...I doubt it.

I doubt it too, but people are still hoping that Revan is alive somehow, someway. Unless he went completely dark and decided to pull something like Darth Sion then I doubt it.

It always saddened me that they went with male. The character seemed much more poignant as a female imo.

Don't worry.

You still have The Exile!

The real tragedy is that BioWare (or Obsidian) has yet to make a KotOR game (singleplayer) that is canon for a dark side player.

Despite being Multiplayer, the Imperial class stories (which are "single" player content) will definitely fulfill that desire for a dark side centric story :).

I know, I'm going to play an Imperial Agent. Or Sith Warrior. Haven't figured that one out completely just yet. Honestly, I want to play all the classes, although I don't think that will be possible because of time issues.

I just mean there has yet to be (if ever) a singleplayer KotOR game that has a canon character in the universe who was dark side that the player played as (Revan was male, light side and The Exile was female, light side). If The Exile was canonically female but dark side then that would have fixed all issues. >_>

Unless, of course, all players are canonically in the Old Republic universe. If that's the case then I want my own series of books, comics, and action figures! =P

In all seriousness, I do appreciate the fact that the class stories do fulfill that fantasy of playing a character that the player wants out of the available class choices. When MMOs don't cater to stories that can have definite endings, it feels hard to justify even playing them so I'm glad TOR has that.

Starting to get interested in this game again. I just wish they would get rid of the Tank/Healing dynamic that exists in most MMO's. I just hate that group set up and boss fighting style.

Oh well, rest of the game should be fun though.

I agree though I do give them credit at least for diversifying the Tank/healer pool of classes.
