Steam Autumn Sale 2015 thread of waiting for the Winter Sale

Ok, I'm seeing my wishlist and quite a few games are on sale. I don't have too much money now so for now I've only gotten Mass Effect and Tomb Raider

I'm dreading my payday :lol

hmm, interested in getting this questions answered, elite is in my cart now...

https://www.elitedangerous.com/en/horizons

"Elite Dangerous: Horizons includes all Elite Dangerous content to date, and all players will continue to fly together in the same galaxy. Existing Elite Dangerous players receive a £10 loyalty discount off the price of Elite Dangerous: Horizons, retaining their progress and unlocking the exclusive ‘Cobra Mk IV’ in-game spacecraft."

Expansion price is given as £39.99.

EDIT Not sure about the prices but i reckon buying the game now and the expansion later, even with the discount ends up paying more.

hmm wonder if i should wait for a better sale for Shadowrun Hong Kong in the winter sale...

also does anyone still play BC2 Vietnam? Want to get it but won't bother if the servers are dead/if it's overrun by hackers

Also does Fallout 3 GOTY run well at all on Windows 10? Have it on 360 but wanna rebuy it for the mods

finally; risk of rain or terraria

December 22nd

That's too early in the week. Last year it kicked off on the 19th (i.e. in lieu of that week's Weekend Deals), so I assume this year's sale will begin on the 18th.

Edit: Ah, I see the dev who leaked the "No featured deals" news also leaked the Winter Sale date.

I would say if you don't plan on actually playing anything that you're buying you might be better of just waiting for the holiday sale. Outside of those Capcom GFWL games since they rarely go on sale. That's been the first time in like 2+ years it feels like.

Ughhh I think I want Invisible, Inc. but I don't know if I'll have time to put into it this year.

It's actually a fairly short game, meant to have multiple playthroughs with different character archetypes.

If my current rig can't run Fallout IV, which game between Fallout 3/New Vegas could be a suitable replacement for Fallout IV?

Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas are the best in the series.

Has Duck Game always had a list price of $12.99? I could have sworn it was $9.99. Maybe I'm crazy?

I'll wait for the Daily Sales but I think Downwell, Mushihimesama and Westerado are going to come of my wishlist. Bummed out that the Cities Skylines DLC isn't on sale.

Dragonfall DC for 3€ is a literal crime happening in front of me right now.

Highly recommended.

Hmm...

Decisions decisions. Will the discount in the winter sale be higher than the ones here? Will these discounts repeat or will some be exclusive?

Might sit on this sale since there are no dailies.

Don't you need to own the former to buy the latter?
No, although Fall of the Samurai basically downloads more or less the same stuff as Shogun 2 and runs off it, but you won't get the Sengoku Jidai campaign to play, just the Fall of the Samurai era one.

Both are good btw, but it depends on which type of combat you like more, sword/spear/arrow/cavalry or guns guns guns guns guns (you can play the former in fall too as a challenge, as you will generally be fighting against artillery and rifles).

pretty much the only game i want on steam is there, subnautica! weak discount and doesn't yet support oculus 0.8 :/ fuck it, getting it anyway

Shock-horror: Life is Strange is only -33% off. The discounts deceived me.

Might as well wait for the Winter Sale.

Haven't played FO3 or FO4, but New Vegas is legit.

I guess I was being too optimistic hoping that Undertale would have a sale so soon!

Anyway, I can see myself picking up Gat Out of Hell, Talos Principle and Life is Strange!

The Crew any good? I'm interested in the concept behind it

It's a surprisingly good driving game that also has a really fun open world to mess around in with a BUNCH of activities. I had a ton of fun playing through all the missions and it's got a loot system that's oddly compelling (you get random parts for your car almost like a diablo game that upgrades it's stats, there are even rarity types and everything). My only knock against the game is it feels a bit grindy if you want to get all the cars.

They've also just recently updated the handling system and graphics engine so it's both much smoother to control and much, MUCH prettier.

So I'm interested in ELite Dangerous but I'm not sure if it's a smart idea to get the base thing now when the expansion is just around the corner.

They had some pretty scummy pricing model going on as far as I remember for people who own the base game and are therefore locked in to buying the DLC seperately, kinda like the Skyrim model.

So, buy the base game now or wait for the expansion?

Dankest Dungeon at 11 Euros seems tempting, I could spend countless hours in a game like that. Does that shit go full Lovecraft at some point? There are some clear Lovecraft-tones from what I've seen so far, but not full out crazy shit.

Ark and Elite: Dangerous are both on my Wishlist with nice discounts. I'll probably end up having to buy something.

I feel like putting 30 games up on the front page still isn't enough IMO. Maybe should be more. There should be a reminder to check your wishlist too or something.

There are some grotesque creature designs and managing stress/sanity is a huge part of the game. Even moreso than XCOM it's about throwing bodies at a wall to knock it down.

My wishlist disappeared, this happen to anyone else? Super annoying as I just went through adding games last night in anticipation of the sale...
