I watched that video, thanks for sharing. The topic itself is suffering from the Streisand effect, but the argument itself is rather pointless? Even the video you shared, the author delves into DEI politics diatribe in the second half of the video and I tuned out. I'm not a fan of DEI myself and we see time and time again the same tropes. "Black character who's gay or queer or whatever" to fill multiple checkboxes. "Asian characters who are always fighting".... Blah blah blah, the whole topic is tiring and pointless to me. Yea, sweet baby brought this on themselves but, they can't get the user banned from steam. It's not going to work and the company should probably terminate the employee that kicked off this brouhaha because it's bad for business. In the end, it's whatever and not the least bit important to the state of gaming as a whole. At least not right now.

And the problem with team size exploding is that you end with tons of middle managers (and HR "professionals" etc) involved, who inherently ruin everything they touch, and kill the unique creative drive of projects.
Classic games like Doom were made by a small team of like-minded guys, building exactly what they wanted through the night, unencumbered by bullshit like quotas, "fairness", etc.
Case in point again, about the perils of "diverse" teams (from DoubleFine documentary). Watch her complain because some guys were staying late and the company bought them pizza for late sessions... which means mean-old crunch time might come back around and penalize the 9-5 whining types:
All I want is games made by driven people who had a vision and executed it without compromise. I hate gaming as a bloated industry with a ton of 9-5 jobs given out to masses of people who are then mediated through HR bullshit. I'd rather not have big budget games at all if it requires the middle managers and their brain numbing effects to be involved in the process.

Look I am not a US citizen nor live in the country but I believe a big part of your governance is that you are allowed to brings these sorts of matters to your local electorate and kick up a stink.
Its time to get the people with power involved now, anyone in the US you need to email and forward and quote tweet etc as many officials you can to make it clearly known that these people are straight up discriminating and being racist.
Again I don't know how any of that would work in the US but I feel like just sitting around and pasting more moronic tweets on here isn't going to change a whole lot.
Honestly to me this was originally just, games suck right now because useless unskilled people.
But after hearing her I am straight up worried, this goes deeper than gaming wokeness.. its straight up segregation/discrimination and racism. This is a muuuuch bigger problem if these people have the power now to discriminate against who they hire on skin color. This needs to be brought the attention of someone who can inact change.

- Idk what state she’s in.
- Two most people do not want to commit the time to do this. Myself included. I’ve got enough with work, kids, wife, etc to try to figure out how to bring her and her company down.
-Three the politics in the USA and laws, plus the system, would more than likely see her walk away free without issues.
I encourage if someone has the free time and can make the difference to do so, but majority of people aren’t going to. I wish there was just an easy report button to the BBB and that’s that.

Labour and employment lawyer here. Yeah, its illegal in the sense that its discrimination. I don't know in which jurisdiction she was refusing to hire people, but anyone who tried to apply at her company and failed could point to that video as evidence. I don't know how big the damages might be, but if I had a client that came to me with that video as their evidence, I would absolutely recommend they file a human rights claim.

If you choose to ignore sweet baby or companies like them, in order to “just play games” you will help ruin gaming overall and the world state.
It is impossible for me to ignore this and I try to stay out of any and all political or agenda related things.
Wolverine is a no buy for me. Any company on that list working with them on a project means a no buy from me.
