I don't understand any of the ride to hell descriptions, I get the feeling there's a reference I'm missing
Excerpts from the Doom novelization.

Pat basically hinted at it during Part 8 when he was talking about what he was going to do for the video descriptions when they were going to be uploaded.

Yeah, fucking wow at the Her Story YT comments. I think it's one of the best ideas they've had for an LP. It's ideal because the game relies on the player's investigative skills; 50% of the game is determined by the player's choices and inferences.

i think the problem is that the sbf have no investigative skill when lets playing =_=

Lol maybe, but hey, they also have a tendency to over-think things, which might come in handy with this game.

Again, I think it's a great idea since it's a game designed to incite discussion, which should hypothetically contribute to good LP. We'll see. Right now I'm optimistic.

Guess I won't be watching Her Story since I planned on playing it eventually. Not entirely sure it's the kind of game that'd work with an LP either, but if they want to do it then so be it.

Also I wish I could remember a particular "game" I was actually forced to play as a school assignment. I remember it being similar to Her Story in that you were given a fake UI to fuck around with and search through maps, documents, and other bullshit. All because you were trying to catch a child pornography man who stole some children or something. It was weird.

Aside from the statue, what else is there? A bunch of pictures. Mostly stuff that, at best, is printed on nice heavy paper stock. Not to mention that EA's definition of "lithograph" can mean "postcard with some artwork on it", like the ME3 limited edition. Not to mention, it doesn't even say anything about the game itself being included.

I think I just personally don't place much value on things whose purpose is to sit on a shelf and look pretty.
"Available in limited quantity for SRP $199.99 worldwide in select retailers, the Mirror’s Edge Collector’s Edition is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC. Players can pre-order a copy starting today at GameStop stores in North America or online, with the other retailers worldwide to be announced soon."

I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't include the game. I don't particularly think $200 is a great price, but $100 isn't very sane either. Whether or not you place value on things like statues or figures doesn't really matter when it comes to just the amount of money it takes to make each thing included. I'd imagine the statue is higher quality than most bundled statues considering the price tag. There's probably also an EA tax there because EA. I think $150 would of made more sense either way considering other CEs with statues, but someone decided $200 because of something.

Her Story? Nice. They were hyping it up but it seems like the kind of game I should play myself first so I'll watch this LP later.

I think this is the actual reason it was a bad choice to LP. Most people seem to either fall in the camp of "I want to play it myself first" or "I'm not interested". They're pretty heavily reliant on people watching it just for the Love of Matt and Woolie on this one.

The Ride to Hell playthrough is just glorious. The voice acting at the end of the last episode slayed me just like the Quan Chi moment.

Don't judge a game by its UI

The core gameplay is really good, but they barely did the UI. It just needs polish in the UI

There is a lot more than the UI that isn't great, like the sound and some of the sprite work/effects.

And this is a more personal thing, but the damage is too high for my likes. Matches are over way too quick.

I like the high damage. It works for a game where parries are a big mechanic.

20 minutes in and I'm surprised that none of them have done any, let alone talked about, the parries so far.

Coming from 3S, it feels really intimidating that Yata's parries are buttons.

Once you get used to it, it feels more intuitive and easier than 3S.
The parry window does feel more forgiving as well.

Haha, the Yatagarasu vid description.

Whenever a new good fighting game comes out, everyone’s lives get a little bit better forever.

Unless the game is Ultimax and your name is Sklafarebear.
