Cancelling shouldn't be hard at all; I'm sure you could buy off Amazon but I don't know how it would be different from buying off the En Masse website exactly.

So I have no idea how to play this game. I am living in Japan and using an english install of Windows 7 on my PC. I read that the NA version is IP blocked by region so I figured my best best would be the JP version of the game.
Unfortunately after downloading all 25 gigs I find out that the JP version is not only IP blocked but won't even start on an English version of Win7. Goddamnit.
Seems like I am screwed as far as this game is concerned, unless I want to rebuy Win7

Is the NA version really IP blocked? I mean, I'm in South America, and I haven't had any issues so far. Maybe billing-wise?

JP is blocked due to licensing issues. You'll have to use a VPN.
There are a few other asian countries that are blocked too.

If you have Win 7 Ultimate, you can switch your Windows to Japanese with a language pack. It should work then.
Unfortunately, language packs are only officially available for Ultimate or Enterprise editions of Windows.
There are workarounds for lower editions of course. But they require a bit more work.
I waited in line and asked them directly through the live chat, but be warned the queue is long; I had to wait for about an hour before they finally came around to me.
All right... I jumped in. I figured there was no sense in delaying anyway. Plus, it's 4:30 AM, and I'm sleepy and it was an easy impulse purchase. Bought the game on Amazon and upgraded my account.

Edit: Ugh... disappointed. I transferred one of my characters over to Tempest, and they just added a bunch of numbers behind the name since it was already in use. Really should have prompted for a change........
Edit 2: How do I apply to the guild? It's the BELIEVE one, right? The "Apply to Guild" button is greyed out.

A buddy and I are about to start playing this game again (haven't played since the month that came with launch) and were curious: How is the PvP guild holding up? He's a Lancer and I'm a Priest, and where we were level wise (we had just cleared out the Lake of Tears, Level 35?) we were starting to get sick of slowly wishing BAM's to death. Are there enough people in DPS roles that they would want to pal around with a (slightly silly) Healer and Tank? We regularly attempt to do dumb stuff, are slightly reckless, but are the best duo in the business.

The Island of Dawn isn't even remotely close to being the most impressive zone in the game. The environments created for this game defy description in many places. You just have to go and look at them.

Many Japanese games will refuse to start unless your computer's locale is set to Japan. To easily change your locale just for a single program, use HF pAppLoc.
Did you take the first flight from starter island to Velika yet...the first time I did that I was just amazed by the graphics...superb use of the UE...
Yeah, I did. I was like o_o . I wasn't enjoying the game all that much at the time, but it still totally blew me away. And I really liked how you could maneuver the camera around, and the viewpoint was tilted at times. It was amazing.

wow, switching from warrior to berserker is pretty night and day. I'm sure warriors are awesome later, but early game is snore zone.
I've only ever played the melee classes, but I played them all quite a bit back in beta. I'd say that lancer/berserker are better off at the start, Slayer doesn't get good until 16, and Warrior is super gimped until 28. Lancer is unkillable basically at all times no matter your level but there's a few parts of the leveling process that are painfully slow unless you have a godly weapon. I only played berserker and slayer until the 30s or so but had no trouble with those after I got some specific glyphs.
My Warrior was whatever the final level cap was in beta but I leveled two of them to that point, BAM soloing was a bit quicker than Lancers but there were certain mobs that just wrecked me. Those pirate things who jump around constantly for one. Meanwhile my Lancer just walked all over them like anything else.

So I decided to give TERA another try (I used to play on the korean one), I wouldn't mind joining Believe
Depends on what you mean by 'supposed'. Some classes are better at it than others, Lancers can kill anything easily if you can stay awake long enough to do it. Past a certain level it's not worth it to solo BAMs because they get so much hp and you can just go quest to level up faster. Even early on I don't recommend soloing them until you're a level or two above.
I mean, if you can dodge their attacks you'll win eventually. But fighting a mob for 15 minutes is not practical especially if you're on a PVP server.
Does this mean I don't need to wait for some kind of code? The GM responded to my ticket.

I didn't get a confirmation email/code either. I was playing and noticed the digital pack items were added to my item claim box. I then checked my sub screen and saw the same as you so I think you're good to go.
When you get home to check your items, you can follow this:
1. Access the game menu by pressing the "Esc" or "Alt" key on your keyboard
2. Click on the "Activities Menu" icon
3. From the expanded menu, click on "Item Claim"
4. From the "Item Claim" menu, select the item that you would like to redeem and press "Use"
5. The item that you redeemed will now show up in your inventory!
Instructions with screenshots on En Mass' site.
Keep in mind the mount and scrolls are one-time use, so make sure you like your character before redeeming them or you'll be boned!

I wish the mount was for all characters...I'll probably try to get my Berserker to about 30 first and decide if that's who I stick with.
Are you paying for a sub? Maybe it gives preference to subscribers? (I don't know.)
Well, right now my account is just active since they re-activated all prior players.
Anyway, luckily once you get through they always have awesome CS and they took care of it straight away.
I don't know much about this type of game, but is it hard to implement day/night and weather? I feel it would make areas less bland (see: poporia).

Ah ok. The reason I ask is I remember trying to solo a BAM even though I was a couple levels higher, and I got my ass kicked.
It was a ball-looking kinda spider thing... outside a dungeon entrance, in a dark colored zone. It's been a while.
Am I going to get Founder status if I've registered 2 codes in the past (1 regular and 1 CE) but have never actually paid for a month?
Also can I enter one of those two codes backwards for the mount?
Lastly, are the bonuses you get for the CE per account or per character? Im scared to redeem the items.

They are nice for a first character, but for those who are in the GAF guild on Tempest Reach, the vanarch horse is the fastest in the game and can be used from level 1.
For the last yes answer is that yes to account-wide or just for 1 character?
Also, the mount you get for entering a code backwards, is that the mount founders get or is it another mount entirely?

Still not too sure which of my fellas i'm gonna focus on, so not gonna join gaf guild just yet
thinking either slayer or zerker atm. Is zerker hard later when i assume bosses and mobs probably get more mobile?

Per character. Berserker is very viable for endgame right now.
