I gotta disagree here. I always check AH for the next available WEAPON only upgrade and its cost.

I got a 38 rare axe that cost only 3g and was 300+ Attack than the axe available from story-line quests.

My tip would be to always keep checking AH for weapon upgrades, especially rare and above as those will be much better than the quest rewards.
You should be doing more story quests.

They aren't aliens.

Think Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and you have the general idea of where the Argons are from and they are trying to do.
I couldn't play that game, but I could play SO4, loll

Is there a class best suited for using a 360 controller? I imagine dudes who have to aim like Archers are better with the mouse & keyboard.

All the story gear I've gotten was much better than the dungeon drops I've found as a berserker.

Except a gold chest in GL, which was 119 compared to my 111.

I was pretty heavy into WoW and FFXI, and also played SWTOR for a few months. How does this game compare to them?

TBH I really don't know jack about this game other than that the screenshots look kind of cool. How does it play? And what are some noteable differences and similarities to the aforementioned games? Is it worth checking out?

Finally got one of my characters (lol archer) to Poporia. First city has kind of a Van Helsing feel to it. Here's hoping area chat is less barren like.

I've pretty much given up on this game, I think :( love the combat and graphics, but I think I'm just 100% done with this kind of MMO questing. I guess it doesn't help that this game really only seems to have three kinds of thinly-veiled quests (kill X dudes, collect X things, escort X character) that rotate sporadically. That's definitely not exclusive to TERA, but it has stuck out for me.

Uggggh. I used to be able to play this kind of game for hours, but I think that time is long gone. It's a shame, I really wanna like it.

IMO the combat is what makes the game fun. Your NEVER going to get a game with quests that aren't boring or kill this or fetch that. Prolly just stop playing MMOs if your tired of those types of quests. They have never bothered me since most MMOs is all about the late game and TERA has some really cool stuff coming up and I can't wait to see if they can pull it off.

Got my lancer to 25 and I have to say it's really fun running instances or killing BAMs with a party. Unfortunately once I'm solo I get pretty bored of slowly killing things. Trying to rush for the SM quests so I can grind out levels in that instance.

lol Having double attack speed on a weapon and having the warrior's 15% speed boost proc along with the priest buff and the speed charm is the most ridiculous shit in the world

Had my best experience with the game yesterday. Cleared bastion of Lok with only 2 other really nice guys since our party was bugged or something. 2 DPS and 1 healer. Amazingly fun.

Ugh instance matching kinda sucks. If someone quits, you can't even invite someone else. >.< Unless you wait for 15 mins.

Either a GM is trolling and pulling numbers out of his ass, or this game is doing a lot better than anyone could possibly have expected considering the circumstances it has faced. I guess it's still possible in this day and age for people to take note of a game which is just fun to play.

Considering that this game is a translation of an existing MMO with some slight changes, 700k subs would be a resounding success.

Well, I finally found the K-TERA wiki with google translate. However, the juiciy details about the elections are in the images.

Anyone knows someone who can read Korean? lol

You can just re-queue. As long as it wasn't your Lancer that dropped you'll instantly get another.
It was the lancer who dropped(which is ironic since he was the one that pulled whole damn room when we died), but that beside the point. We found lancer in the world and we can't even invite. It's just damn annoying.

It's nice, if we can keep this number or even grow.

The real kicker for me was that Mystic healing requires everyone in your group to be smart and heal themselves with the Orbs on the ground. Because of my experience in WoW with Lightwell never working in random groups no matter how many times I told DPS to heal themselves, that scared the hell out of me.

It depends.

TERA's not like WoW where people spend all their time locked into GCD and animations, there's a ton of movement. Add in the fact that people are used to avoiding/blocking since the first level, I don't think the fail rate is quite as high.

Health Balls have a few problems though:
  • They're a HoT
  • They don't scale with gear
  • Melee DPS have to run out to use one
  • Dropping one in melee range runs the real risk of the boss clobbering you

We did SA. it's so hard without a healer. The place was not worth it with the XP we got and NO LOOT except at the end bam. :|

It's a level 60 dungeon they down converted to a lower level... so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. No quests to speak of, 95% of the trash is skippable, the only boss who is likely to drop something is the last one... while it is pretty, I didn't like it at all.

I haven't given up on the game but I think my playtime will drop drastically once d3 and other games come out.

My issue is I just can't find a class that I really love. Part of the issue maybe is the classes change so much once you get them higher up. Then when you throw in the action combat and pvp I just can't found a class that clicks.

Is it just me or is the crafting of mats and equipment ridiculously expensive? Wasted so much money on it so far and it's all been a bit of a waste of time what with getting a weapon 5 minutes later from a questline better than the one I crafted.

Done the whole Castle of the Witch near the Elin city with my guildie today and got to level 38 thanks to that. To be honest I've invited him because I thought that the castle will be full of party quests, but there wasn't even one...

Anyway, new batch on screen added to my minus album:

Kintaro

Worships the porcelain goddess
This Clippers/Grizzles game better start delivering. I'm missing out on valuable xping here. =(

I still need another SM run. Hate myself for missing the final quest and there were move quests to do for a second run! =(

and not worth it IMO

I thought crafted items at the high end turned out as good or better than dungeon drops?
