And that makes sense, but still, wouldn't then the right thing to do be give her a concussion test and if she fails, the fighting over? What boxing does is bad, but that doesn't mean we should let people get punched in the head when they're unconscious.

And yes, I know we don't have fool proof concussion tests out there, but if think we know enough about them that we could have three doctors on hand who can rule on whether or not she can get back in the ring.

Ronda was knocked out, she wasn't getting back up. That isn't what boxing does in that case. A knock out means the fight is over.

Concussion tests take 1-2 minutes for the fastest. There's just no way to do it. Basically, if someone requires it just call the fight and end it. And like I said, in real-time:

I think people are really just excited and have clouded thoughts of such an upset. Personally I'm happy Ronda lost as it was exciting but I think she has a chance in the future. I don't think that is a fight she would lose 100% of the time. I'm not really of the opinion this was a fluke though. Holm could lose to the next challenger as well. She has talent and potential though.

Georges was always very well rounded and built off of that after his loss. Rhonda not as much. She can come back but she'll never make up the striking gap.

THey are usually rushing to get the fight stopped as quickly as possible. YOu don't have to be precise in that situation.

Also fighters have unpredictable movements when they're woozy or concussed - you fight a couple of rhythms and cadences for a couple of rounds and a fall just kinda gets away from you and you whiff. Staggering is fast because it's evolutionarily successful.

the Serra KO was the definition of a flash/fluke KO. He wasn't dominating GSP for a round and a half before that. He caught GSP with a good punch in a good spot and it all went down hill from there. I'm not saying GSP and Ronda are the same. GSP is obviously more well rounded.

Up until Ronda became a media darling, everyone knew she was best known for her 1st round armbars.

She bought into her own hype and surrounded herself with yes men.

If she got this dose of reality and realized "Hey, you know what? I'm not very good at boxing. I should stick to what I'm great at."

She could come back and be very dominate with her submissions like she has in the past.

She has obvious holes she needs to close up. She needs a new camp/coach as well.
